I always enjoy reading the books in Sevier's River Jewel series. They are quick spicy bites between full length reads. In Long Overdue, Olivia Milan is a ousted librarian whose sexy in-house antics earn her a termination from a job that she truly loves. A little bit heartbroken, Olivia consoles herself by cleaning (incessantly) and in the comforting arms of her best friend Matt Osgood. Matt and Olivia are best friends but they are also secretly in love with each other. The secret causes them to seek out passion born of an unfulfilled love. Fortunately, the River Jewel resort comes to their assistance and they find a love in each other that they never expected but always hoped for. Sevier does a good job integrating humor in this book. There are a few moments with Olivia that leave me shaking my head and snickering at the same time. I enjoy this series because the stories are complete standalones. You do not need to have read one to understand what's happening. That fact notwithstanding, I wholeheartedly recommend all the books in the series.

Great story about two long time friends who have shared heart ache and pain in the betrayal and death of Olivia's fiancé, to the short term relationships of Matt. Then Olivia is fired from her campus library position and after a month of no leads, Matt encourages her to apply for a position at the River Jewel Resort, hearing that they are putting in a bookstore. Matt is supposed to be going to a book signing in Chicago so Olivia decides to go to River Jewel Resort and apply for the job and check the place out. Sadly Matt and Olivia are actually in love with each other, but fearing the other does not feel the same, they do not reveal true feelings. Matt decides to ditch the book signing and instead go to River Jewel Resort for his fantasy. They run into each other and decided to talk about be honest. This short read is a cute story with a HEA ending.

This latest installment is full of anticipation from the beginning. It is full of "foreplay and sexual tension" from the moment the two characters engage, and coming to a "climax" at just the right time. Even though you might anticipate where the plot is heading, it is enjoyable nevertheless.
The twists at the resort are interesting and eerie at the same time and leave you wondering and wanting for more details of the amazing place where "happy endings" are all but guaranteed! Now THAT is customer service!!
I would have preferred another helping or two of "smexy" in this edition, but that is just my own personal preference.
Enjoy reading this little escape from everyday life. I did!!

Oh my god! I had to read the beginning three times because I seriously thought Matt was totally gay! haha
I love the banter and friendship and I absolutely enjoyed the friendship that Madison brings you into right off the bat.
It's so sweet you can't help but love Matt and Victoria, they are so beautiful and perfect together. Plus a nod at book lovers. Who sniffs books? WE DO! Oh yum....
I love the honesty and the realism, I love the down to Earth reality based conversations Madison gives her characters because they seem like real people. Long Overdue is hilarious, its heartfelt, its sweet, its serious, its sexy. Its chalk full of all the goodies that makes a book perfect.
I can't get enough, and oh, yes, it has been long overdue indeed. ;)

Long Overdue intrigued me enough that I'm going to be checking out book one and two!

Long Overdue went over Olivia and Matt's friendship and unrequited love between them. River Jewel Resort brought their story to a head. I have to agree with Olivia that it had an ick factor, LOL. The scent of a library, I'd definitely have to agree with Olivia.

Matt struck me as a typical guy and I love to read stories about the average man. He'd take what he could get. You root for the two of them throughout.

Told from both perspectives, Olivia and Matt are both in love with the other, but afraid to ruin their long friendship. A wonderful tale with definitely some intriguing elements.

The River Jewel Resort sounds like an interesting place to visit!
