3 stars - An ok vampire romance. Kindle Unlimited.

This was just an okay read for me. I had a few problems with this story and they are probably "me" problems but here goes...

First, I like my vampires to have a bit more gravitas. Be a bit icy. And be a bit smarter. Jordan is too ordinary and nice. She gets nervous and doesn't exude much leadership vibe. They are in conflict with her cousin who is actively attacking and trying to depose her/keep her from assuming the throne. The lack of actions like increasing security, bodyguards, intelligence gathering, counter surveillance, etc irked me.

Sky, a normal human woman with no training, had the strength, stamina, and fighting skills to hold her own against werewolves, vampires, and other supernatural creatures during the very long and very big battle at the end. Riiight. Also, apparently, is a virtuoso violinist even though she never practices and barely remembers her lessons. Oooookay. I think the author was trying to keep her from being a damsel in distress which I completely appreciate. However, if you are going to do that, make it make sense.

There is a lack of character development. Both MCs are kinda flat. We don't know much about them as people. They are instantly attracted to each other and fall in love quickly because..."mates".

The bad guy needing to monologue leads to his eventual defeat. Sigh.

I did like Jordan and Sky. I liked their HEA. There is one scene at the end that I thought was done well and I enjoy the 'lore' used to bring it about. Keeping it vague because - spoilers.

I think I am ragging on it a bit because it had the potential to be really good (IMO) with a few tweaks.

TL:DR - If you are jonesing for a vampire romance and you have Kindle Unlimed, this one might hit the spot if you keep your preconceived vampire queen expectations low. :D

3 ★ | Not this authors best work. Needed stronger character development. Vamp especially. Make her mean. Ice queen, maybe? Give her a bit of bite! No pun intended. Overall quote on quote enjoyable. Had potential. I’ve read many books from Chloe. I know she can do better. Won’t put me off. I know she’s got it in her to deliver. Just not this time. Cover has me in a chokehold. Oops.

Fun book, I enjoyed the author's melodramatic writing. The story is a bit static, and it moves slowly, but the characters are enjoyable and the love story is a good one. I am enjoying the F/F fantasy books I have been reading. Some aspects of the story and characters are not explained very well (how did I miss that Sky is an accomplished violinist whose playing can entrance a hall full of vampires?) but I really decided I didn't care if the story hung together well. I was just having a good time. Oh, and after describing Jordan's amazingly beautiful red hair, dont make her a blonde on the cover.

Enjoyable vampire story with an interesting take on vampire and werewolf lore. Reasonably fast paced, there is quite a bit that happens during the course of the story. The bulk of the focus is on Sky and Jordan and their relationship (and their steamy scenes) but there is an overall plot that drives some aspects of the story. They make a cute couple, and it was worth the read.

3 - This felt like it's sometimes missing paragraphs or entire chapters. Exciting stuff happens and next thing you know a time jump happens and the consequences are grossly glossed over. There is a real nice and simple action-romance-paranormal-plot in this, but I found myself exasperated again and again. So often setup and payoff are only setup or only payoff.

Loved it

Very intelligently written piece of work. The characters were amazing. The struggles they went through from the crazy cousin to self-sacrifice. Chloe Peterson did a great job...well ok they all are.

This novel was a mixed bag. It was entertaining, which counts for a lot. Unfortunately, I had a lot of little nitpicky issues. If you turn off your brain and don’t think too hard this can be an enjoyable novel to take for a whirl; unfortunately, that isn’t how I like to read.

The Good: This was an interesting story, it had good worldbuilding without being infodumppy, and there were some fun moments.

The Bad:
-This was supposed to be a fake-dating story. The fake dating plotline was essentially abandoned immediately, or at least the author didn’t do anything fun with it. This part of the story could have essentially been removed without affecting the plot in the slightest.
-Jordan never mentioned to Sky that they were “fated mates”. It was a big plot point for it to never be mentioned. The beginning set it up like there would be a reveal which I was looking forward to, but we didn’t get anything of the sort. I wanted to see Sky’s reaction to that reveal and what her thoughts were. In fact, I don’t think they ever really discussed their relationship, they simply started being intimate.
-Relationship development: was there any? I think this novel leaned hard on the “fated mates” trope because there wasn’t really any relationship development, or any reasons identified as to why they liked each other. There was an inexplicable draw between them and that was about it. This isn’t the worst thing, but they also never talked about that factor either!
-So apparently the human (with no experience fighting that we were told of) can fight against a top-tier vampire and not only survive but potentially win? How on earth does that make any sense. The human can be badass or squishy, but not both as it suits the plot!
-Inconsistent vampire abilities. They apparently move so fast they can barely be seen by regular humans, they are strong enough to tear off the limbs of creatures much stronger than humans, yet the MC can successfully fight against them? And win?
-The actions scenes just didn’t make sense. Action flowed or stopped in order to make room for monologues and conversations, or to wait for plot related reasons. It was also certainly convenient that Sky was able to carry around a near-unlimited stack of potions and powders in her purse for the big fight scene.
-The witches are significantly more powerful than the vampires, yet a single vampire slaughtered a huge number of them (the same vamp that a single human can overpower…..). The witches also never bothered with revenge, or taking action to protect themselves?
-I never really understood the villain’s plan. Why wait until the literal last second to take action, when they had the ability to take out the protagonists at essentially any point prior? Waiting for all of their enemies to be gathered together, instead of picking them off separately at their leisure, is actually the worst plan. Seems like a cartoon villain.

3.5⭐
The last 25% bumped my rating up from a 3 to a 3.5.

I really liked Jordan but I for some reason really didn't like Sky.
So I couldn't really enjoy their romance, since I didn't like one of the main characters.
The romance was also done in a way I don't enjoy, everything happened way too quickly and I couldn't see how their feelings for each other developed.
They also never really talked about their feelings or relationship, at least early on, and they just suddenly were together and in love with each other.
I get the whole "mate" thing but it still wasn't done in a believable way.

I did enjoy the plot of the story, although it probably isn't anything too interesting if you read lots of fantasy.
The execution wasn't done perfectly but I still really enjoyed it at the end.

I really liked the writing, except for the spice. The words and language used to describe things during the spice scenes were a little weird in my opinion.
Like the author was scared to use words like "pussy" or "clit".
I just ended up skipping the spice.

Fanged Interest: A Steamy Vampire Lesbian Romance
New Release

From the moment Jordan heard Sky's desperate cry for help, she felt an instant connection to her. Sky's mother was gravely ill, and their financial situation seemed dire. Jordan delved into extensive research and devised an irresistible proposition for Sky.

As an avid fan of vampire stories, I thoroughly enjoyed this captivating tale. Sky displayed immense courage and an unwavering determination to keep her relationship with Jordan alive, despite the inherent dangers it posed.

The chemistry between Sky and Jordan was undeniable, drawing them together with a natural and breathtaking force. The presence of supporting characters in the narrative added depth and completeness, as if all the pieces had fallen into place. I wholeheartedly recommend this compelling story, now available on Amazon KU!

It’s a ok vamp romance. I felt like the overall growing into the relationship was missing. It all happened too fast and ok - I understand that the ideia was “we got a super attraction and feelings are scary so let’s not talk about it” kind of thing, but they needed to spend more time together (I needed to SEE that time happening) to create a bond. On the other side, some side characters are incredible and I wanted to see more of them.
The problems in the vampire world was very cliche, everything is very predictable, but it worked. Could have more explanations and world development? Sure, but you can understand and engage in everything.
If you don’t mind the cliche and want a nice vamp sapphic story, this is for you.

Who wouldn’t…

love Jordan and Sky? Jordan is fierce and sweet at the same time. For a vampire, she still has a lot of humanity left inside her. Sky surprised me most of all. She loved hard and had a lot of courage for a human finding out that there are scary things that truly go bump in the night. I was surprised that these are day walking vampires.

I enjoyed watching them grow as fated mates and friends. It was believable. I enjoyed the twins and even more Hunter and Max were just hilarious. I had a wild ride as Sky and Jordan come close to death so many times. Wild rides.

I loved the writing style of the author. It held my attention and I was totally invested with these two having there HEA!

I love paranormal and god help me but I dig the fake dating trope.

A vampire and a human fake dating (because reasons)? Sign me up. However, the fake dating trope flew out the window pretty quickly. So quickly, I think that Peterson should've just written that story instead. By using the fake dating setup it felt like a house built on an uneven foundation. Characters needed more fleshing out... for example- the human love interest being perfectly ordinary and boring and quite timid goes from terror to chill in no time flat. In being super chill hanging out with vampires she also becomes a compelling orator addressing vampire nobility as if she were born to the (un)life, where the vampire queen is busy tripping over her words. She also has hidden talents as a violist having not picked one up in years (I guess it is just like riding a bike?). I'm happy to suspend a lot of disbelief (a must given my reading choices) but give me a thread to pull on a bit.

I did not expected it to love it so much.I will not be reading any other book until I finish this series cause I'm obsessed.

It was funny ,spicy and cute at the same time.I loved the friendships and the different personalities for the side characters. Some times I was cringing and was like "this was unnecessary " but it did not ruin the book.

Also ,the fact that paying her mother bills is why Sky agrees to be Jordan's fake girlfriend, but after that there was no movement between them, nit one moment between Sky and her mother and not between Jordan and Sky's mother (would had been cute).

My favorite characters order at the moment :
1) Jordan 💋
2) Sky( It took me by surprise how much I've come to love her🥹)
3) Dylan 😘(can't wait for her book)
4) Max
5) Hunter(I still love her )

Fangs in any sort are a win in my book. These vampiric ones were just the right size and I very much enjoyed getting to know these fated mates. A vampire that loses a loved one, only to gain more family, and have to ascend to the throne whilst having stumbled into their mate, fake dating, hiding secrets- phew. Lots going on.

I liked the duality of the characters. How Sky was the perfect compliment to Jordan's monster. Jordan a regal vampire that gets a swift kick to her self-esteem from her human mate and how Sky was just as regal when decorum was necessary.

Cute book, a bit rushed but enjoyed the epilogue.

A sweet sapphic romance sprinkled with vampires, and other monsters. It was a nice read, although the writing style was not my favorite (such stylistic choice also made the journey a little bit bumpy, with a lot of ups and downs). Jordan and Sky are made for each other, no doubts, and it has been a long time since I despised a villain so much like Jeremy. At the end of the book, I was tense and hopeless -- Jeremy seemed indeed immortal, and I was thinking the only thing able to save the story would be the power of friendship. Fortunately, it wasn't; it was a dagger in the heart.

This book was very cute. Most vampire books make the vampire to be someone mean and aggresive. This book had the vampire a big softie! It was so cute as sweet. She totally still stands up for her love interest but is so sweet and kind I love it. The story itself was cute and fluffy. It went a little fast and you didn't get to see much growth. It went from fake dating to I love you very quickly. No angst between the MCs. If you are looking for a short, sweet, and adorable vampire book then definitely pick this one.

Jordan, the next in line to be New York's vampire queen, rescues Sky from a werewolf attack... and instantly falls for her. Alas, Sky is understandably terrified.

Sky is shocked to learn Vampires, Witches and Werewolves are real, and is even more shocked when Jordan asks her to fake date her. It seems the NY vamps are unsure of her, and her having a mate would reassure them.

So now they're together, but Jordan's cousin intends to defeat her...

Good if fairly quick read. Nice world building, interesting characters... 3.5 out of 5.

A funny, entertaining reading. I've had lots of fun and a bit of anxiety with the villain. So it was an easy reading.

The only thing I don't get about the main plot is why they waited almost 3 years to try to do what they did. Makes no sense to me. Another thing that I think made no sense was Sky never visiting her mum during the months things happened. She wasn't in a coma or anything and we never even got the chance to meet her. I still liked it though.

This was... pretty bad, but good enough to read on a work trip for some steam. My bar for that is EXTREMELY LOW, however, so, take that for what it is. I honestly don't think I feel like saying much more about it than that - except, for having read this for romance/steam - there's not really all that much of either, and this book has that inexplicable "insta-love" factor, both of which were disappointing. 1/5.

Kind of a tough read. There wasn't a lot of character development and the romance seemed a bit off at times. A lot of weird mistakes made, overall I was able to finish it. I don't like to leave review's like this but as someone who only reads Sapphic I like to know certain things before starting a book. Pacing and character development and huge for me.

Really good

This book was so good. It's so hard to find good Sapphic supernatural books, especially ones with a plot like a war amongst vampires, even family. So fantastic, everyone needs to read this book!

DNF @ 51%

I’m truly bored out of my skull. I thought I could push through because it was under 300 pages but I fucking can’t.

The characters aren’t very interesting and they have zero chemistry. The premise had so much potential.

Love a Great Romance? This is it!

I haven't read many vampire stories but wow, I'm glad I read this one! It's a great romance, a titillating mystery, and filled with awesome other worldly creatures....good and evil. It's a battle won by good and love.

dnf at 48%; where was the buildup???? there was nooooo chemistry and idk what this was but definitely not “fake dating.” i guess our girl Sky here is a professional violinist too after no prior experience and can defend herself perfectly fine against vampires and werewolves. talk about plot armor.

An unexpected treat. A vampire story that has a love story, friendship, mended fences, and of course, a bad vampire. Truly enjoyed the ride. Wished it had been longer, or there was a follow-up story with new adventures and challenges. Maybe in the future?
