3.5 stars. This is a fast read for a drama. The heroine is getting stronger away from the horrible treatment. I hope the positives continue as there seem to be more negatives. I will say it was a bit distracting to have the "evil" cousin continually biting her thumb whenever she was angry. I remember it from the previous volumes, too. Like why and what?
Je me suis régalée.
Just when Nanao was finally settling in, her cousin and former fiancé seem to be very determined to ruin her life now that she’s finally found happiness. She and Yako have chosen each other, but outsiders are determined to break them apart… thankfully, Nanao’s abusers are crashing and burning, but will they take Nanao with them?
I have been enjoying this series so much. We pick up right where we left off and hit the ground running. We’ve got Nanao’s jealous cousin, Akemi, trying to destroy her life out of jealousy yet again. I liked seeing a glimpse into the past again. It was just enough to see even more about how Akemi has always been as a person before jumping to the present where her life is falling apart. Then we’ve got Nanao’s former fiancé throwing divorce on the table because he’s determined to make Nanao his wife. The man is a creep with a wandering eye.
Nanao has grown so much since the first volume even though not that much time has passed. She may be quiet and wary, but she’s finding her strength and is learning how to use it to defend herself. Trust me when I say you will want to pick up this series. The plot is excellent, the artwork is stunning, and let’s just say that justice gets served and that it’s even better than expected.
I’m so excited to pick up the next volume and see how things will continue to unfold. Plus, I really like the little extras we get at the end of each volume. I’m hoping to get my hands on volume 4 soon!
I really wanted to rate this 5 stars and was about to because my girl Nanao had so much growth and moments where she stood up for herself. I'm so proud of her😭😊 I'm also happy that Yako let her stand up for herself when he could have so easily said something. How do I know? Because that look he gave her (you know what I'm talking about if you've read this book). I love that he let her stand up for herself and then told them off that he loves her for who she is, not just her blood. Unfortunately, I had to take half a star off (I was debating between taking 3/4 or even one star off) because some of the volume wasn't that interesting and the ending before the bonus chapter, ugh. I know it's expected in stories with main characters from high society who get married but I'm so tired of it. That's why I was so happy that Yako's dad accepted Nanao.
This is the second series after Bleach that has a character named Nanao in it (there are probably other series I have read with a character named Nanao in them and I just don't remember right now because I have read lots of manga series even if I haven't finished or caught up on them all), that I had to remind myself in the first chapter that she's a different Nanao😅
The first time I read this, the ebook pages were all out of order, so the story was very disjointed, but it was still possible to piece together the events. Re-reading it in proper order now is much better and flows easily. It's interesting how those who are truly the ones to watch out for can be seen not just in how they speak, but the way they are drawn as they look far more crazed than the normal characters. In contrast, Nanao most often looks bewildered or innocent and gentle. While many questions have been answered and Nanao finally has some support and self confidence, it seems their struggles aren't over yet. Perhaps it's a good thing Yako is so protective, though it's also rather sweet, especially considering the way Nanao was treated previously and given he doesn't try to hold her back or belittle her.

Once the fiancée of the Byakurenji family, Nanao is now considered tainted after being attacked by an ayakashi. She is shunned and abused until Yako, head of another family, decides to take her for his bride. Yako's motives are unclear but for Nanao this is a way out.
The art is beautiful and it doesn't shy away from depicting the scars Nanao carries. There is a fair bit of world building. At first it seemed as if the romance may be progressing too quickly for my liking, but it seems more transactional at this point and I imagine actual romance will come later down the line. It's definitely an interesting start and I look forward to where this story is headed.
Nanao is coming into herself! Some Byakurenji finally start to get some of what’s coming to them. Enjoyed meeting Yaichiro, but unsure if he’ll annoy me going forward (based on his usage of Nanao as bait). There could be a bit more romance, but what but we do get from Yako & Nanao is gold.

Ug. Entitled assholes get what they deserve. The back cover says this is Norigami meets My Happy Marriage, but I'd throw in a heaping dose of Something's Wrong With Us for the role players.
Love Nanao & Yako together more and more with each volume. The pacing is nice and so is seeing actual character growth this soon.
This is so up my street. I love the story, I LOVE the character development especially on the FL. the art is GORGEOUS and we get so much story and extra info in every manga! love ittttt. got some DRAMA coming fir us though
I am so very impatient of reading the next volume ! It was so very good to see the development of Yako and Nanao’s relationship as well as Nanao’s growing confidence…And it was such a cliffhanger at the end !
9/25 All the abuse became seriously repetitive, and now that it's over... it's going to start all over again with a new, stronger bully? May try one more volume but really not sure I'm interested in any more.
now this is the kind of character growth I wanted to see more quickly in 'my happy marriage'!!! nanao gets shit DONE in this volume and fully rejects that asshole. I loved it!!

Lots of forward movement. I like the growth of our female lead character. She has really grown and I like her love. His father and rest of family… what kind of trouble will they bring?
I loved this volume too, I liked how Nanao stood up for herself but her traumas sit deep and the story showed how she sometimes froze despite wanting to resist. Looking forward to the next arc.
Continuing to have a grand old time with this series! I liked all the moments when Nanao got to stand up for herself and Yako being lovingly supportive. 100% Wife Guy, over here.
This volume might have been my favorite yet. It was fantastic to see Nanao finally having a voice and speaking up for herself. I’m also glad to see the absolutely horrendous Reito end up in a cell where he belongs. He’s far worse than Akemi in my opinion. The ending scenes of Nanao and Yako were adorable and I’m looking forward to the next arc in this story. My only complaint is I really could have done without Nanao being freshly 18. I found that to be unnecessary. There is also no need for there to be an age gap between her and Yako. The exact same story could be told with both being the same age.
