Years passed, time moved on and people changed. But your first real love? Something about that is timeless, even if it's only in your mind banked in your memories to be retrieved later to remind you of happier, simpler times. Beth and Leith had those happy and not so happy memories before life led them in different directions. Young, complicated love. Beth was now divorced and Leith seemed to be on his way to his happily ever after...maybe, cross paths once again. Both a lot wiser and unsure, they tread carefully. This casual run in sets them crashing back into each other at a time neither would admit was perfect, even though it kind of was. Now all they needed was to make sense of it and see if their shared past could evolve in to a shared future.
A relationship that ended, but a love that never did. I absolutely loved this book! Beth, carefree, strong and sassy. Leith, dirty talking, nice guy who no matter how many years passed, always remembered his Angel. I highly recommend this book!!!
Oh Wow! Jaxson Kidman has blown me away with this book! I cannot express just how much I loved Beth & Leith's story. This book is heartwarming, and heartbreakingly beautiful. A passionate, emotional story of friendship, young love and second chances. Beth & Leith's story will pull at your heart and stay with you long after it is over. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. A definite must read from an absolutely awesome author!
Wanted to love this more, but it just didn’t have the angst that I thought the blurb would bring. I’m also not a huge fan of then and now, a few flashbacks are ok but when it goes into great detail I kind of get bored, so it’s maybe a me thing with this one. It wasn’t bad, just didn’t push on my emotions like I wanted it to.
Leith & Beth story was truly thought out from beginning to end. The characters themselves were relatable and the situation they were in were we realistic. The author Jaxson Kidman is an amazing author.
Jax is back! He brought us an addictive angst filled, emotional story that I could not put down. He has a gift of making his characters so real and raw. This is 5 stars!
Wow @JaxsonKidman has hit this one out of the park. Loved this story which was full of angst and all the feels that captured you from the first chapter. I so wanted to hate (such a bad word) Leith, but I just couldn't. Beth and Leith had a lot of history to unpack, hence the format of the book being written in the Now and Then. A lot of people don't get it when an author writes this way, but I don't mind it as it puts into context what is happening in their current situation so much better. Beth and Leith had a stormy love from a very young age. Was it an affair? Or maybe just two people who didn't know how to express their feelings so well at such a young age, and what happened to end their 'relationship' was heart breaking. Jaxson knows how to write from a MFC perspective and did not disappoint in this story in any way, dealing with female emotions when it comes to their health issues and heartbreak. How do you trust a man when he walks away from something he said he would never do. With a sassy independent MFC who refuses to back down, you are team Beth all the way and as their story unfolds you realize that what happened many years ago, unfortunately for both Leith and Beth, set their life path to go in opposite directions, to finally turn a corner and land them back together again...fighting their past and trying to work out their future. I cannot say enough about how I loved this story. Take a chance on @JaxsonKidman and place this book in your kindle, you will not be disappointed. A definitive 5 stars from me!
You know a writer is good when they put their heart and soul into their books. A part of them for us to read. Jaxson tugs on my heart strings, crushes my heart into pieces for him to put it back together again better than it was before. This is an amazing second chance for Leith (I love this name) and Beth. It’s heart wrenching to see this couple pulled apart again and again. Watching their transformation through the story was a heartwarming experience. I loved Leith and Beth together. The story and characters are well developed and easily relatable. Sometimes the time isn’t right and you have to work through some life experiences before you’re ready for something amazing. Jaxson is an incredible and inspirational writer. His words are heartfelt and touches a reader’s soul. You are never the same after reading one of his books. Fair warning, always have a box of Kleenex next to you as you read anything he writes! Keep these stories coming, Jaxson! You are one in a million!
A phenomenal book! The heroine loves drama, chaos, likes to make a scene, and is a spitfire. She speaks her mind and does what she wants. Her relationship with Leith takes place over a period of time. Lots of angst and finding out about themselves. Leith is a good guy! He rises above his childhood. He takes Beth's needs and wants and turns them into a just moments. Leith and Beth have belonged together since the beginning and now...finally! Jaxson does it again!
Leith and Becky’s story was just so amazingly crazy good. Known each other since they were young. Went through quite a bunch of ups and downs , lost each other for a long time. Found each other again after a few years. It’s just life you know? And now they get to try and do it right. (Hopefully) Jaxson Kidman did such a wonderful job on this story. I would highly recommend reading this and his other books as well. He is one talented author.
Another A+ for Jaxson Kidman! This one is right up there with Dear Everly, 5 years later and Anna’s Dress. This book was well written and the characters were well thought out. They had depth and knowledge to know what they wanted out of life. Just took time to get there. Great book! Keep writing them and I’ll keep buying them! I’m a forever fan!
This is a love story, pure and simple.. a little dysfunction and plenty of emotional ups and downs. Beautifully written. Jaxson takes you on this journey with Leith and Beth. Their love story is angsty, heartbreaking and emotional , It Has flashbacks Of teenage love, their 2nd chance emotiomal turmoil after years apart and meeting again. Thank you Jaxson for another great read.
This was an awesome read. It actually has it all, the emotions are pretty high and Jaxson knows how to tell a story. Loved how we got the Then and Now versions of each character. Told a lot about how life went for these two characters. Leith and Beth finally got their happily ever after. This book has been along time coming and it was awesome. Great Job Jaxson
Long awaited release from this author, but it was worth the wait!
As ever, this is a very emotional story covering the past and present. Can two people who are meant to be together keep getting torn apart? Can they finally find the road they should be on together?
Absolutly brilliant storytelling from JK, and another classic to add to the collection of releases. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3 stars While I usually really enjoy Jaxson Kidman’s books, this one fell flat for me. I found Beth to be really unlikable. The story is too long; I ended up skimming from the 60% mark onward. Way too many grammatical errors. One or two, ok. But some paragraphs were nonsensical with errors. So I’m really sorry that I didn’t enjoy this one.
You've done it once again Jaxson Kidman. As always you never disappoint us. This book captured my heart. Such heart felt emotions tore me apart. Tears fell through out this story. Welcome back Jaxson Kidman. Definitely a must read.
So many feelings in this book. So much back and forth. I was rooting for Leith and Beth so hard. Both had to overcome adversity in their lives. They would get back together and break up. Heartbreaking!
I've been following this author for sometime and I have loved his work. This book was just as great as the rest. He has a way with words that I hope continues. . ❤❤❤
I knocked it down to 3 stars due to several grammar errors and one character error. Get a better editor because if you choose writing as your profession, do it right.
Yeah, he's back! This book is reminiscent of his early books. A lovely story that's true to life, full of setbacks, fears and doubts but ultimately love. Jaxson at his very best.
Is your first love your real love?!?! Well Leith & Beth are about to find out. Leith the school teacher who doesn’t look the part and Beth the bartender. Meet again after many years and other relationships. Can they make it work again.
