Omega Melina thought she’d spend the chaos of her first heat cycle on an Tribarian island retreat, until she crashes, literally, into the mountain lodge of an irresistible alpha—the broody and mysterious Dhanyaris.
As Melina’s heat heightens, the two are swept into a whirlwind of passion. When Camille, Dhanyaris’ beta lover, joins them, her playful charm contrasts with Dhany’s smoldering intensity, creating a magnetic pull Melina can’t resist. Trapped by a snowstorm and fueled by primal instincts, they find themselves exploring their most hidden desires.
As the storm subsides and reality looms, will Melina embrace the unexpected bond she’s formed with Dhany and Camille, or will she be lured back into a life away from her omega nature?
Heat and Run is a steamy sapphic omegaverse novella where insatiable lust meets the magic of the holiday season.
USA Today bestselling author ADRIANA HERRERA was born and raised in the Caribbean, but for the last 15 years has let her job (and her spouse) take her all over the world. She loves writing stories about people who look and sound like her people, getting unapologetic happy endings.
Her debut Dreamers, has been featured on Entertainment Weekly, NPR, the TODAY Show on NBC, The New York Times, The Washington Post and Oprah Magazine.
When she's not dreaming up love stories, planning logistically complex vacations with her family or hunting for discount Broadway tickets, she’s a social worker in New York City, working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
I took her in my arms. She came to me like I was the only home she’d ever known.
I've said time and time again that I don't particularly like omegaverse, and that remains true, but apparently I'll let Adriana Herrerra take me by the hand and carry me wherever she wants, lol. This is an f/f/f paranormal romance, pretty much wall to wall smut, about an omega who crash lands in an alpha's backyard while in heat, and then her beta fwb comes to visit, and they all have a pleasant, wholesome time together. :) Truly no thoughts, head empty. There's some worldbuilding, and it's tangentially connected with Herrerra's other smutty holiday novellas, but even if you haven't read them, you'll catch the gist of the overall world easily enough. (I've only read the first sapphic one.) This was mostly pretty hot, but also... look, there are certain things about a/b/o that I find so incredibly silly, and this introduced some new, even sillier things for me, and my eyebrows were constantly at my hairline. And it's really just a matter of taste. There are some things I think are hot, and there are some things I think are really not. There are some descriptions that I find really sexy, and some that are ridiculous bordering on downright silly. This had examples of both, in spades. Also, speaking of silly...
But I mean, I'm not mad that I read it. There were some funny moments, especially when the brothers got put in their place. I really liked Dhany. Big possessive woman make brain go brrrr. There was an almost total lack of plot, but I did like that Melina and Kam bonded almost immediately and there was no drama about the triad. They're really cute. And when it was hot, it was hot. So, kudos!
An all female omegaverse?? It was a first for me and it won't be the last. I saw the cover and started reading. So from there I was ready to read about Melina's experience at the retreat with orgasm packed 3 days. Yet, if I would've read the book's description beforehand I am pretty sure that I'd have known Adriana Herrera would take that turn. I liked it though!! Dhanyaris certainly received what she did not expect to happen, a mate. I love fated mates. It is very satisfying to me. Plus the way Dhanyaris handled that phone call. I must admit that she certainly meant what she said because Dhanyaris absolutely took care of Melina! Lastly just the mention of Kringle, I had to go back and revisit Kristina in Her Night With Santa, in the middle of me reading this book, because I had to make sure my memory served me correctly with the characters inside of that book having sex in the sky.
Heat and Run by Adriana Herrera is an absolute scorcher—a perfect winter read that’s more than 90% pure, Carolina Reaper-level spice! Set in Herrera’s Toy Runner universe (if you haven’t read Her Night with Santa, you’re missing out on some seriously spicy magic), this novella serves up a thrilling dose of omegaverse goodness with a powerful female alpha and a tantalizing f/f/f dynamic that will keep you hooked.
The story follows omega Melina as she accidentally ends up stranded with broody alpha Dhanyaris at a remote mountain lodge, just as her first heat cycle is kicking into high gear. Dhany’s intense, smoldering presence is enough to set the room on fire, but when her beta lover Kamille shows up with playful charm and an irresistible energy, things get even hotter. The dynamic between the three is electric, with each character bringing unique energy and chemistry to the mix.
Herrera does a fantastic job easing readers into the omegaverse, offering enough detail to immerse you in the world without overwhelming you. The plot is straightforward, allowing us to dive right into the steamy fun without needing a full manual. This novella is perfect for those new to omegaverse, or anyone looking for a sizzling addition to their reading list.
I’m so glad Herrera is expanding this universe, and I definitely need more omegaverse in my life next year! If you’re looking for a short, fiery, and unforgettably spicy read to keep you warm this winter, Heat and Run is an absolute must.
I get coasting on vibes and ignoring plot, but I need something to hang a story on. Some character development, a little tension at some point in the romance, something. I got almost nothing here, and it was super boring as a result. There was nothing to invest in or root for, and yeah, it was hot, but I'm here for more than just spicy scenes. I know Adriana can write sapphic better than this, and for me this was a miss.
The amount of ass play I’ve read the last two weeks alone 😃
Okay, first off! This needed soooo much editing as there was a distracting amount of grammar and spelling errors.
Second of all, I know this is a smut story, but I need a little bit more plot and breaks within my smut. You gotta at least fool me a bit, make it seem like I’m here for something more knowing what the main agenda is.
And third of all, I hated Kamile. SORRY, SUE ME!!
Okay I won’t say I hated her, but she felt like such a “need to hit the freak quota, throw her in there!” I would’ve liked her way more if she was introduced better as them being a triad is interesting.
Then again, I have to remember that this is a get off story so excuse me.✨
4⭐️ Plot what Plot? (there is tiny bit of plot!) tropes: omegaverse, fff, fated mates | high steam | digital
Overall thoughts I love the world-building in this! I haven't read f/f omegaverse before but I loved seeing new iterations of what I could be like between to women. Melina, Dhany, and Kam have incredible chemistry!
Set in the same universe as the Toy Runner series, this is probs the hottest book I've ever read and reminded me why it's good to be a lesbian! This one is for the girls, and the gay theys!
When I saw FFF omegaverse I NEEDED to pick this up immediately. I haven’t read any sapphic omegaverse before this one, I’ll absolutely be reading more. The omega crash lands during her heat outside of a the alpha’s home and of course our alpha has to take care of her. The spice was unique and had some really hot moments.
3 stars. I’m on a roll with sapphic omegaverse lately and I love it. This was good, not my favorite thing but it was super entertaining and smutty. I do think the editing was severely lacking and it was distracting and kept pulling me out of the story. I also wish Kami had been integrated into the relationship with Dhany and Melina a bit smoother but other than that this was just a filthy good time. It’s also unique in terms of omegaverse so kudos to Herrera for that.
This was spicy deliciousness with almost no plot. I loved the creative anatomy sapphic twist on omega verse and the queer normative world. The 3 women were all confident in their own way and unashamed of their sexuality. Melina always had awesome clap backs to her overly protective brothers.
Spice: 5/5
Triggers: vehicle crash, severe pain episodes, adoption involving separation from roots
merry christmas / congrats on the lesbian polycule / happy new year / not to be impolite but are y'all santa's elves? is this the north pole? / hope you weren't looking for plot / recommend if you like sweetverse omegaverse
As is tradition...I bring you a SPICY and COZY little treat for the holidays. This time an F/F/F omegaverse...because I am in my SAPPHIC ROMANCE ERA BABY!!
I wrote this as a treat for myself and I truly hope reading it is a treat for anyone who picks it up.
Unapologetically spicy, sapphic romp are my love language. If like me, you could use a little spicy treat as a distraction, this one is for you!
❤️Omegaverse ❤️All the PRAISE ❤️A touch of voyeurism ❤️Virgin Omega ❤️Devoted Alpha ❤️A very sexy beta
I need more FFF omegaverse in my life. But I need EDITING more. It’s clear the author didn’t even reread this book once. It would’ve been a 3.5 or even a 4 if a third of the sentences weren’t garbled.
Genre: Adult Omegaverse Spice: 3.5/5🌶️ *spice ratings are relative to similar books in the same genre*
The Catalog: FFF omegaverse, omega’s first heat, alpha that lost her omega, heat tending of convenience, female alpha tongue accessories, unique omegaverse mechanics, ritual piercings, new year holiday romance
Kink: lactation (kinda), scissoring
Pack Dynamics: α Ω β Dhany (α): alpha allergic to commitment Melina (Ω): omega that crashed her plane in her yard cause she’s in heat Kamlle (β): the situationship that crashed their heat tending
Synopsis: Melina is on the verge of her first heat, frantically trying to make it into her people’s territory to have her heat tended properly, when her plane crashes into an unsuspecting alpha’s yard. Dhany doesn’t want another omega after her heartbreak, but can’t deny the omega’s need for an alpha. Kamlle thought she was showing up for a booty call, and now finds herself co-tending an omega’s heat.
Thoughts: I think it’s time for me to accept that Adriana Herrera is not the author for me. Every story I’ve read by her needs SO MUCH editing. There are typos, things that don’t make sense, and always frustratingly underwhelming world building.
My biggest complaint with this was that I couldn’t keep track of anything or anyone during the sex scenes. None of the positioning or actions made any sense and I couldn’t follow along very well.
That being said, I enjoyed that this was sapphic omegaverse, as we all know there’s not enough representation in the space.

• omegaverse • first heat • “f*ck me now or i’ll die” ….literally • sapphic (FF/FFF) • fated mates • winter / christmas vibes
So I accidentally read a holiday book in the middle of spring. 🤣🤷♀️ It’s fine though. Anyways, this was SO hot and SO spicy. This is my first FFF and I ATE. IT. UP. I’m a sucker for omegaverse dynamics and so this was def up my alley on that front. While there’s little to no plot in this book, I personally loved it and I’m already a huge fan of erotica, which I’d say this is. The only complaint I have (P O S S I B L E S P O I L E R) is that the mating was SO underwhelming. I feel we waited a while (relatively, I mean the book is like 135 pages) for that moment only for it to be the opposite of climatic. Outside of that, I loved this and it’s definitely one of the hottest books I’ve read. 😮💨
would I recommend this book? • MAYBE. Probably around holiday time!! 🎄
A great addition to the Toy Runners universe: some sexy erotica with a dash of holiday to make it a Christmas romance, not too much to bring my Grinch out. Melina, Camille, and Dhanyaris’ was hot.
You can always count on Herrera for some great, creative sapphic smut. Herrera plays deftly with Omegaverse tropes, critiquing them as much as she enjoys them. Especially since so many can be so heteronormative or bioessentialist. This is the commentary and imagination that I want.
That said, there wasn't quite enough will-they-won't-they tension for me. By the time Camille joins to form their triad, we're very sure all these ladies will be happily ever after together. When Melina's brothers barge into Dhanyaris' home to "rescue" their sister, at no moment did I ever think Melina might've gone back with them, even post-heat cycle.
Thanks, Adriana Herrera, for providing me with an ARC. My review is my honest opinion.
I’m a huge fan of Adriana’s Toy Runner series, so when I saw this was spin off that exists in that same world—I jumped on it! It’s definitely a spicy holiday novella as promised! Very fast paced and full of characters you’ll love!
I really enjoyed her take on OV and would love to continue to play with this concept! It was intriguing and fun learning about the Tribarians in contrast to the Magi we know and love!
No lies on how sizzling hot this book is! Very hot and steamy so be prepared for Queen Adriana to bless you with plenty of SMOKING HOT scenes! Closed door where?
High recommend and it will hold a place in my brain. Gonna have to reread the Toy Runner series again just because lol
Heat and Run delivers precisely what it promises: an intense, steamy omega verse novella with plenty of heat and passion. The dynamic between Melina, Dhanyaris, and Camille is compelling, with their chemistry sizzling right off the page. Dhany’s brooding intensity and Camille’s playful charm create an intriguing contrast that keeps me invested in their interactions. The snowy, secluded setting adds a layer of intimacy to their whirlwind connection, and the pacing aligns well with the high stakes of Melina’s heat cycle. The writing captures the raw intensity of their desires and the primal pull between the characters, precisely what I expected from this genre. However, I wished for more depth in the story. The emotional development of their bond felt rushed, and I wanted to see more exploration of their connection beyond the physical. While the novella delivers on its promise of a steamy escape, I missed the opportunity for more nuanced storytelling that could have elevated the narrative. Overall, this quick and fiery read works well for fans of Omegaverse novellas, but it left me craving more substance to balance the steam.
Absolutely what it says on the tin, steamy f/f/f omegaverse. The world needs more sapphic smut, please, and Herrera delivers with this little present (90% smut by volume).
Omegaverse isn't something I dive into often, so from that perspective I think Herrera did a good job balancing the needed explanations without too much exposition. As well as subverting a common trope to the different body types here.
If I had a wish, it would be that the enjoyment of being bossy in bed were taken a few steps further into *really* bossy territory.
Take a great break from the world and enjoy this hot little treat!
I got an ARC from the author, opinions are my own.
“ I don’t want to lose something beautiful because I’m scared of change” - Melina
This is the second book of Adriana's I have read and I’m obsessed with her storytelling, characters, plot and overall vibes of the books. This one didn’t disappoint at all. I devoured this and left no crumbs, best believe I’ll be thinking about this for a while. The FFF was done well, I loved the connection between them and their love for one another. When Adriana said steamy, she wasn’t lying. Anyways best 7 dollars I spend in a while.... I would def be buying a physical copy soon.
It's been a while since I felt the want on me and then I saw this pop up on Threads and was feeling a little slumpy so decided to give it a go and it was great fun!
Three ladies getting it on at Christmas! What's not to like?
Could do with a little edit and I sometimes wasn't sure who was where but that's the nature of the smut I think! :D
Adriana Herrera getting flagged as a new 'when you want smut' author. I like when I find those!
