An excellent LitRPG that involves a poor guy, an MMORPG, and being dead. THE MONSTERBANE is our last hope but can he do the job? The author does a good job of establishing their reasons for why things function the way they do in the world and there's some humorous scenes that reminded me a bit of VOX MACHINA like the entire party getting slaughtered in the first chapter. As a guy just getting into this genre, it seems a decent entryway.

Weird descriptions with similar words and poor sentence structure. I had to reread too many sentences to make sense out of them. Tossed it back after only 10%, and I have a high tolerance for bad writing.

"Monsterbane" follows Alec Damian, an online VRMMORPG player who reincarnates into the real version of the world he adventures, Terra Everna. His first companion, an android girl named Vasty teaches Alec about Everna in the Arcane Age by applying the traditional RPG system as a parameter to measure strengths, manage funds and supplies, and party management. In time, Alec will act independently based on intuition and his own assessment, without having to compare the numbers of enemy strength, his own party's levels, and all. I don't know if anybody uses this system before, but linked with Everna Saga's stories and timeline, Monsterbane is a unique work by itself.
