Available as a free taster book from the author's website, this short story connected to the Colour of Blood series doesn't require any prior knowledge and can be read at any time to get some first hand history of the dystopian series world.
Also it has feels. So many feels. You wouldn't have thought a third person present tense book about a synthetic human abandoned and ostracised by their creators could be so emotionally powerful. If by any chance you have started the series, you might just recognise our synth in their pre-name days...
I can totally recommend this short prequel story as a quick read that'll blow your dystopia-loving socks off.
