Winsome Cove
Book 1: A Cape Cod Summer Book 2: A Cape Cod Holiday
I write the same kind of romances I like to read – stories about characters facing real-life challenges with real-life consequences. The stories are emotional, but still have humor, and love always finds a way to pull the characters through together.
I live in coastal North Carolina with 100 pounds of dog and 200 pounds of husband – my slice of the bed is very small. When I’m not writing or reading romance novels (or clinging to the edge of the bed…), I can often be found on the back porch sipping wine with friends while listening to an eclectic playlist. If the weather is absolutely perfect, I might join my husband on the golf course, where I always feel far more competitive than my actual skill-level would suggest.
This book is book two of the Winsome Cove series. This book is sexy, sweet, emotional and a little bit spicy 🌶️ 🌶️. Triggers for this book are panic attacks and school shooting violence.
This story is about a guy named Max Bellamy has a young son named Tyler that he didn’t know about. He is used to life on the road. He settles down in Cape Cod. He has a neighbor named Grace Bennett who is a control freak when it comes to rules and wanting them followed. She likes enforcing neighborhood rules when it comes to meeting Max for the first time. They don’t hit it off real well when first meeting each other. She charms his grieving son Tyler.
Sparks begin to fly between Max and Grace. He doesn’t know if the sparks between them are adversarial or romantic. They spar with each other verbally which leads to clothes flying. Grace is an uptight pianist who shares her past trauma with Max. But can she risk loving a lonely little boy and a man who turns chaos into magic. The descriptions of him as a sword forger were amazing. I loved reading this book.
Max used to be single and lived a nomadic life, being a sword forger at Renaissance fairs. Until a woman he dated before died and he learned he's got a 5 years old son. He and little Tyler are starting a new life in New England, where Max's mom and sister also got a chance to start over a year ago. On the first day, Max meets his new neighbor, the very strict Grace. There's a reason why following rules is so important to her and he'll get to discover it when spending more time and falling in love with her.
I enjoyed the first book and it was a renewed pleasure to be back a second time in Winsome Cove with the Bellamy's family.
Would honestly probably give this a 3.5/5 in reality. Definitely a cheesy romance but was cute nonetheless. Also it takes place at my favorite place on Earth, the Cape☺️
