Heroes exist. Let a Janie Crouch book prove it to you.
Predictable, prodding and boring. Not a lot to praise for an author I could usually count on to deliver a great plot and wonderful characters. I just haven't been feeling it for this whole series.
Weston Patterson and Kayleigh Delacruz spent a summer as besties when they were nine-year-olds. Then Weston's foster dad died, and he was sent to another placement. Kayleigh's dad was a cutthroat businessman and life went on. Fast forward 20 years and Leo Delacruz needs Weston to provide security for his daughter due to threats over a merger. Big trouble when daddy dearest doesn't tell Kayleigh that Weston is back in her life to provide personal security. But they fall in love and after tense times the baddies are routed and the good guys win.
What a thrill this story turned out to be. Weston is the quiet Patterson brother. He loves working with his brothers and tending to his garden. When a call from the past comes asking for his help, he's ready to go meet the man who's daughter was his only friend when he was a young boy. Seeing Kayleigh again after all these years is a shock to the system. She has grown up into a beautiful woman, but her dad's dealings have brought danger to her doorstep and Weston is determined to keep her safe.
Kayleigh was not expecting a blast from the past in the form of her childhood friend Weston. She's excited to spend time with him and learn what happened to him after the summer they spend together. Spending time together brings out young love mixed with longing, and falling for each other is inevitable. But danger is close on their trail and together they'll have to work as a team to defeat it.
The plot was interesting and kept me on my toes. I love everything about it. Now I'm hoping that the last brother and his love interest will bring me this much joy while reading.
Wow another action packed story that will keep you guessing who the bad guys are and on the edge of your seat cheering on this wonderful family.
Chance chuckled. “Brothers, man. You know what Mom says.” “Family is forever,” they both said at the same time.
Weston Patterson us one of four brothers who own a security company together. When he gets a personal call from Leo Delacruz that his daughter needs protection it’s a no brainer for him. As kids they were close.
Kayleigh doesn’t want protection but things just keep getting worse so she accepts.
“Ms. Delacruz.” His brows furrowed and voice became way...too serious. “I think having at least a dozen men assigned to your every step would be the best sort of security anyone could provide.”
“Weston Patterson, did you just make a joke?” “I guess I did.
Love all these brothers and can’t wait to read the next book.
No, the pint-sized pixie knows everything about everything. I’m just the Neanderthal who refuses to use fire.”
Texas Bodyguard Weston is the third book in the San Antonio Security series by Janie Crouch. It is considered a standalone, but I highly recommend you to read the other two books in the series to understand the brothers and the dynamics of the Patterson family better. The recommended book order is Texas Bodyguard Luke, Texas Bodyguard Brax, Texas Bodyguard Weston, and Texas Bodyguard Chance. Hard to believe this protector romance series is almost over!
What I love about this series is that it is about a family made up of members that aren’t blood related and all four boys were adopted. It’s no secret that I’m adopted and I have a family filled with adopted children so it’s not a surprise that I LOVE reading about families who adopt children. They hold such a special place in my heart. I love the Patterson family and how loving, patient, and kind Sheila and Clinton are. Adopting isn’t an easy feat and those two wonderful human beings adopted four teenage boys.
I just saw the orange banner that this book is number one in multicultural romances! Congratulations! Another reason why I love this author is for her love for writing multicultural romances and for writing strong, independent heroines that come in from all walks of life, backgrounds, features, and heritages.
Texas Bodyguard Weston is the friends-to-lovers protector romance between Weston Patterson and Kaleigh Delacruz. These two met and spent an entire summer together when they were nine years old. They were each other’s only friends and they formed a special bond with one another as they spent their time in the gardens and assisting Henry with the landscaping. An unfortunate event occurred causing them to never saw each other again. But as fate would have it, they were brought back together when Kaleigh’s father, Leo Delacruz, employs Weston for his security services to protect the one person in his life that he loves dearly, his daughter. It’s all hands on deck when things start to escalate and it has Weston, Kaleigh, and the Patterson family to be on high alert and to stay vigilante.
This book was fast paced and an easy read. I thought I knew who the bad guy was, but as the book progressed Janie Crouch had me second guessing myself and everything I thought I knew. That plot twist wasn’t something I suspected and well done at tricking me!
I can’t wait to read Chance’s book and see how his relationship with the office manager pans out. I’m assuming that Macie is his love interest, but I could totally be wrong. Texas Bodyguard Chance releases August 22, 2023 so make sure that you keep an eye out for pre-order link and more info on his book.
I highly recommend the San Antonio Security series as well as Janie Crouch, the author. Make sure you check out the author’s backlist on her website because she has more books like this that I think you will love as much as I do if you liked this one.
TEXAS BODYGUARD: WESTON is the third instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult SAN ANTONIO SECURITY romantic, suspense series focusing on the Patterson brothers: Luke, Brax, Weston and Chance. This is security specialist Weston Patterson, and heiress / photographer Kayleigh Delacruz’s story line. TEXAS BODYGUARD: WESTON can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from omniscient dual third person perspectives (Weston and Kayleigh) TEXAS BODYGUARD: WESTON follows in the wake of threats against out story line heroine. Kayleigh Delacruz and Weston were childhood friends but Weston grew up in the child welfare system, and was sent to another foster home without any notice. Fast forward to present day, billionaire investor Leo Delacruz is desperate to more protection for his only daughter, and contracts with San Antonio Security but more specifically his daughter’s friend Weston Patterson. Kayleigh Delacruz is unaware of Weston’s involvement but lies by omission threaten their rebuilding friendship but at every turn, Kayleigh is pushing for her continued independence, an independence that is threatened by the target on her back. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship and love between Weston and Kayleigh, and the potential fall-out as the threats against Kayleigh may come from someone she knows.
The world building continues to focus on the backstory and history of the Patterson siblings-four non-blood brothers adopted by the Patterson family, four brothers who grew up to protect the people they love. When Weston is tagged to protect our story line heroine, Weston is hoping for a second chance, a second chance at the woman he has never forgotten.
The relationship between Weston and Kayleigh is one of second chances: a rekindling friendship that was broken when Weston was sent to another foster home. Like his ‘brothers’, Weston’s earlier life was one of sorrow and pain, and the only happiness was the summer he spent with out story line heroine. There are no $ex scenes -everything is implied.
Once again, we are reintroduced to Weston’s brothers: Luke (Claire), Brax (Tessa) and Chance, as well as their parents Clinton and Sheila Patterson; Kayleigh’s father Joe Delacruz, and a host of assistants and security. The requisite evil has many faces.
TEXAS BODYGUARD : WESTON is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, family and relationships, second chances and love. The character driven premise is entertaining and dramatic; the romance is passionate but subtle; the character are desperate and determined.
Weston certainly is a favorite in the story of the Patterson brothers. It’s been wonderful getting to know him and seeing why and how he decided to form the security agency with his brothers. Also, with each brother’s story, we have a better understanding of how insightful and compassionate the Pattersons’ have been as parents and taking these boys from all of their different abusing backgrounds and helping them become the settled, well-grounded men there are today. This is the most comforting thought I have taken from this series from the start.
Weston is the quiet one and the thinker. He sits back and assesses every situation before jumping to conclusions, so he can make the most informed decisions. It is the reason his business is very successful and well-known.
Kayleigh comes from money and a single-parent home but doesn’t appreciate that her father’s business makes her life strained with bodyguards. She wants the freedom to come and go and make her own decisions. Leo must keep her safe during many of his business dealings and insists on increased security. Kayleigh evades the men each time.
Leo enlists Weston because of a childhood background between he and Kayleigh to guard her and keep her safe. This helps Kayleigh and Weston bring closure to a time when they both felt each was ripped out of the other’s life during crucial moments of their childhood.
The story has many twists and turns and yet is very sweet and touching. Janie really keeps us guessing this time, nothing is what it seems. The only real constants are the 4 brothers and their resolve to keep each other safe no matter what, “Family is Everything”.
A MUST read for sure of our Texas Guardians…Can’t wait for “Chance”!

Fantastic book that kept me enthralled from start to finish. I've loved getting to know the Patterson brothers, and now it's time to focus on Weston. He is the quiet one in the family who watches and considers before taking action. He was abused as a child by his father and eventually put into the foster system. The summer he was nine, he accompanied his landscaper foster father, Henry, on his work at the Delacruz estate. There he met Kayleigh, Leo Delacruz's daughter, and they became good friends during that carefree summer. Then Henry died, and Weston was moved to a different home, and he and Kayleigh didn't see each other again until Leo hired Weston to be a bodyguard for Kayleigh.
Kayleigh is the daughter of single parent Leo Delacruz. He is a ruthless businessman whose actions frequently bring trouble. A traumatic event when she was younger left Kayleigh with nightmares and difficulty trusting. Her relationship with her father is strained, and she resents his attempts to protect her, frequently evading his security people. She is a successful photographer who travels the world. On this visit home, she and Leo butt heads again over his protection plans.
Leo remembers Weston and his friendship with Kayleigh, so he hires Weston to protect Kayleigh back on the Delacruz estate. Kayleigh does not know Weston's purpose in being there - she thinks he's a landscaper like his foster father. She's not happy to discover the truth, but Weston's skills as a bodyguard are needed when they come under attack.
I loved watching the relationship develop between Kayleigh and Weston. Each has some trust issues to overcome, but neither can deny the connection that still exists. I enjoyed seeing them get to know each other as adults and discover that the old feelings have grown and matured. There is a rough spot when Kayleigh discovers that Weston is a bodyguard, not a gardener, and it takes some work for Weston to win back her trust. I loved seeing Weston support Kayleigh's independence while he stood by her side to protect her. I loved seeing them grow closer, and the ending was fantastic.
The story's suspense kept me glued to the pages, and up way late to finish it. Leo's ruthlessness as a businessman has brought trouble to him and, by extension, Kayleigh. There are multiple possibilities for who is behind the latest situation, and when I thought I had it figured out, something would happen to change my mind and spotlight another suspect. The intense action kept Weston and Kayleigh barely one step ahead of those after her. The ending had several twists that I never saw coming. The final confrontation was a nail-biter that had me on the edge of my seat until it was over.
I enjoyed seeing all of the Pattersons involved and supporting Weston. His brothers always have his back, and I liked seeing them work together. I also loved seeing Weston and Kayleigh spending time with Weston's parents. It was an eye-opener for Kayleigh to see Weston so relaxed and relatively talkative when he was there. I'm looking forward to Chance's story.
Texas Bodyguard: Weston by Janie Crouch San Antonio Security #3
Weston and Kayleigh were under ten the summer that they spent time in a mansion garden together. Twenty years later they still remember one another and that summer as a special time with a friend that stayed in their memories for decades.
What I liked: * Kayleigh Delacruz: famous photographer, daughter of a billionaire, independent, strong, survivor of childhood trauma, enjoys gardening, perfect for and with Weston * Weston Patterson: abused by biological father, spent time in the foster system, quiet, carries physical and emotional scars, ex-policeman, one of four boys adopted by the Pattersons, perfect for and with Kayleigh * Getting to see the Patterson family together again and find out how they are doing as well as the strong family ties and love they have for one another * The plot, pacing, location, and writing * The development of the adult relationship between the main characters * The mystery of which person was creating the difficulty and how that person was discovered * That everything was wrapped up in the end with no cliffhanger * That there is at least one more book in the series
What I didn’t like: * Who and what I was meant not to like * Thinking about the evil that some do to make money and how amoral they can be * The risks taken…a few times I wanted to tell a character not to do something that I had a feeling would lead them into trouble
Did I enjoy this book? Would I read more in this series? Yes
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
I voluntarily reviewed CHANCE:TEXASBODYGUARD OMG!!!! I was hooked on this story right from the start its an intense emotional rollercoaster ride full of mistrust, danger, angst, secrets, lies, betrayal, fear, murder, suspense, intrigue, twist that has you turning the pages to the end. Weston & his brothers Brax, Luke & Chance were all adopted by Sheila & Clinton Patterson when younger all the boys came from dramatic pasts as they grew up they started San Antonio Security Agency together maybe not brothers by blood but couldn't be closer. Kayleigh Delacruz was a nature photographer sent all over the world just retuned from Indonesia hates that her father wants her to have 24/7 security while he doing a merger that his enemies won't stop at hurting her to prevent it from happening but she won't go for it. Leo Delacruz calls Weston he's surprised to hear from him it's been 20yrs he wants him as a personal bodyguard for Kayleigh he's never forgotten her they were BFs when younger until his life turned upside down, she so happy to see him after all this time her father lies to both of them to get her to agree about going somewhere safe. I definitely recommend to get this extremely well written story so many twists & surprises some one wants Kayleigh dead & Weston will protect her with his life I'd shell accept it, you be on the edge of your seat with this action packed story not knowing who to trust, you can't put it down I loved it. I'm so looking forward to Chance:TexasBodyguard next book in this amazing series its the last brother "Chance Patterson & Maci & Ford's" story can't wait to read this one. PHENOMINAL TWISTED ROMANCE 🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤
Texas Bodyguard: Weston is the third book in the San Antonio Security series, but reads well on its own. Weston is called in to offer around clock security services for his childhood best friend. Kayleigh refuses to be a pawn in her father’s business dealings, but being back around Weston isn’t too bad. Secrets are unraveled as the danger stalks closer, but can these two find trust and love in one another, or will everything they love be torn apart?
Oh my goodness! Wow, this book had some on the edge of my seat pretty much from 20% on! Just, nonstop action, drama, fighting for their lives, and love trying to bloom in the unlikeliest of places! Weston and Kayleigh were an amazing couple that had a bit of history from a share summer together as children, but that laid the foundation of something so real that I felt like I was right there with them. I couldn’t help but cheer both of them on while wondering what twist would come next, at the same time as trying to guess who the bad guy was and all of the connections! It was a whirlwind and I loved it! Kayleigh had so many inner demons she was fighting, but I loved her strength and independence. Weston was like a solid rock that she could lay her worries on, letting her be who she needed to be, all while being a protective warrior to stand by her side, or in front of her when necessary. I loved them together. This book was absolutely great and might be my favorite in the series now, but maybe I need to reread them all before I can make that official decision, haha! I loved it and am so excited for the next one, too!
This series has been such a good read and the background of these characters is fantastic. I love the fact that all of these brothers were adopted by an amazing couple when the boys were teenagers and showed them what a family is. Weston has always been the quiet one of all of the Patterson’s, but just because someone is quiet doesn’t mean they are weak. Kayleigh has been extremely lucky to grow up without Ever having to want for anything at least material wise. Kayleigh always seemed like she was alone in a home full of servants although one summer she made friends with the gardeners son and then he was gone. Weston always thinks of the summer he learned all about plants and how to care for them along with meeting the very vocal Kayleigh. Now it’s been years and the past has come back but will things be the same? Weston is fantastic at his job and will protect anyone he needs to but when it’s the woman he’s always thought about will the truth drive them apart. Kayleigh has always known that her dad was a shrewd businessman and so she’s made sure her career took her all over the world hoping to avoid his security. Although now things seem much worse and Kayleigh could be a huge target and doesn’t appreciate protection. Will sins of the past ruin the future? What happens when two worlds collide by a lie of omission? Will Weston be a man that Kayleigh could fall for? This series is full of action, adventure, passion, spice, humor, love, pain and sadness but so with the ride. I can’t wait to see how the final Patterson brother falls.
Weston is the quietest of the four brothers who own San Antonio Security. Taken from an abusive parent, his adoptive family has helped him grow into a healthy, strong adult. Along with his brothers, he has a calling to protect and serve, having worked as a police officer. Using those skills, he now provides protection to clients of their security company.
When a blast from his past resurfaces and needs help, he's more than willing to protect Kayleigh from whoever is trying to abduct and harm her. She is the girl he could never forget. As a child, he and Kayleigh spent a lot of time together helping the landscaper at her father's estate. Weston developed his love of plants and nature during that wonderful summer with Kayleigh. Kayleigh for her part, has become a plant and wildlife photographer, traveling the world to document rare species for a variety of publications. She's used to living life on her own terms while on assignment and chafes at the control her father attempts to exert over her life.
Filled with danger, this story moves at a rapid pace with a perplexing mystery that will keep the reader guessing until the end. Woven throughout the story is the evolving relationship between Kayleigh and Weston. With his quiet and serious demeanor, it quickly becomes clear that everything Weston does and says has great meaning to him. His strength and devotion create a memorable character that is balanced nicely by Kayleigh's more outgoing and sunny disposition.
Four stars for this action packed, suspenseful romance.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest and voluntary review. This is the 3rd book of the series presented by Harlequin Intrigue. All can be read as standalones. These four gentleman had a rough childhood, in the foster system for one reason or another, and adopted by this awesome couple, the Pattersons. While not by blood they are brothers in all ways that matter, and will do anything for their siblings. Adoption is close to heart for Ms. Crouch as they adopted two children. <3 Weston's first foster home was a good one, and Henry, his foster dad took him to work with him all summer. He was a gardner for Leo Delacruz, who had a daughter about Weston's age, Kayleigh, and they became friends. Sadly, Henry passed away that year and Weston was put back into the system. Kayleigh had her own trauma. It would seem the two never forgot each other. In Kayleigh's case she never could find Weston due to his last name change. Weston however followed Kayleigh's career and has a scrapbook of her work. When Kayleigh's safety is at risk due to a business deal her father is involved with, Leo turns to someone he's sure she'll trust. Her safety is challenged many times right up to the end of the book. I will say I didn't see the curve ball coming of who was behind all those attempts. I look forward to the last book of the series, I think the sparks will be flying in that one.
Janie's books are my go to books whenever I am looking for a good romantic suspense story. Texas Bodyguard: Weston was another great romantic suspense story. This is the third book in the San Antonio Security series. Weston has always been the quite one of the bunch so it was very enjoyable to get to know his character more. Weston, like his brothers, grew up in foster care until he was adopted by the Patterson's. The only highlight of his childhood, before the Patterson's, was the time he spent with his first foster father Henry. He has fond memories of spending time at the Delacruz estate learning all about gardening from Henry. It was during this time he met his first friend, Kayleigh Delacruz. Weston and Kayleigh built a special bond the summer they spent together. Sadly, Henry passed away and Weston was placed with a new family and lost contact with Kayleigh. Even though they lost contact she has never been far from his mind, which is why when her father calls Weston asking for his security services he drops everything to help. Weston quickly agrees to be her bodyguard unaware she did not agree to this plan. The two quickly rekindle their friendship and start to hope for more. This story is an edge of your seat thriller full of secrets, lies and betrayal. Will Kayleigh and Weston be able to get the happy ever after they both so desperately deserve or will their relationship fall apart before its really had a chance to begin.
This is the third book in this series. They can be read as standalone books. Weston is the quiet brother. He sits back and watches. He talks more now than he used to but that is mostly around his father. He is about to get a blast from the past with one phone call. He is called and asked to protect the one girl he could never forget. They only spent one summer together when he was a young boy but that is all it took. Kayleigh and her father don’t have the best relationship. She knows he loves her but he is so over protective. Plus, she never really got over what happened to her all those years ago. When she sees Weston at her house, she can’t believe her eyes. Then he is at her family’s lake house. She figures he is a new gardener. She couldn’t be more wrong. How will Kayleigh react when she learns that Weston is really a bodyguard hired to protect her? Weston must decide how he is going to get Kayleigh to believe that he didn’t know that she didn’t know he was meant to protect her. He doesn’t want to lose this chance with her. He knows he wants a lot more with her but does she want the same? This book was a fantastic read. It has twists and turns. I usually figure out who is behind things early on. This one I didn’t. Weston and his brothers will do anything for those they love. They didn’t hesitate to help Kayleigh and her father. They knew she was special to Weston right away. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I love these characters so much. Fantastic job Janie.
My favourite....Weston is so perfect and his love for plants and nature just make him more precious. Protective, loyal, honest and with a green hand nothing can surpass that. He may be more quiet than others but he sure can listen and Weston grew up to be a good man despite a difficult early childhood.
Kayleigh knew Weston when they were children but he had to move suddenly before she had to suffer some traumatic experiences. She may be the daughter of a very rich man but she prefers outdoor and nature, the summer she met Weston impacted her future and she treasures that memory. When her life is in danger because of a new merger her father is conducting she is refusing protection detail, not wanting people to know her weakness and not wanting to loose freedom.. but her father Leo is cunning and will do everything to protect her so he is getting her childhood friend Weston to do the job not telling them both the whole truth. However danger goes up and soon Kayleigh is an even bigger target and Weston will need his brothers ' help to keep his woman safe.
Oh this was excellent, really i loved it, all the twists, the tension, the romance and the botanical touches. Aperfect captivating romance suspense that can be read as a stand alone and i definitively want more of the Patterson's team
I have been absolutely loving the Texas Bodyguards series! The Patterson brothers are my favorite fictional family! Add to that a second change romantic suspense and you get a great story in Texas Bodyguard: Weston. If you haven't read the other books in the series it is fine because each story does stand completely alone but I do recommend reading them all. When Weston was a young boy in the foster system, his foster parent at that time worked for wealthy Leo Delacruz. Quiet Weston became fast friends with Leo's talkative daughter Kayleigh. That summer was one of the best of his childhood memories. As happens often with children in the foster system, Weston's circumstances changed and he never saw Kayleigh again but he did eventually find his forever family with the Patterson's. Now here we are decades later and Leo Delacruz calls Weston in to have the Patterson's security firm help with threats against his daughter. Kayleigh is not a fan of her father's overbearing nature and likes to keep a quiet private life as a wildlife photographer. She is thrilled to see Weston again but she isn't thrilled about the circumstances. These two are in for a bumpy ride! This was a really fun story told from dual POV and shouldn't be missed by any fans of romantic suspense. Looking forward to the final book in the series.
In the third book of The San Antonio Security series, Weston Patterson gets his story. I found myself drawn to this quiet, introspective man. He surprised me in several ways. He may not be loud or boisterous but don't equate his quiet demeanor with weakness. This man has a spine of steel and is a protector through and through. Kayleigh Delacruz is her fathers most precious possession and therefore he's over the top protective. As such, she's forgd a career as a world class photographer who globetrots rather than living under 24/7 security. A hostile takeover of a pharmaceutical business sets in motion a dangerous set of events that incluse arson, kidnapping and murder attempts. At Kayleigh's father's request Weston becomes the one who stands between her and danger. These two have a history that dates back to the summer when Weston was eight. Together they learned to love gardening as they along with the Delacruz gardener maintained the grounds of the family home. Reuniting after many years is a dream come true for both. Ever mindful of the possible dangers, Weston and Kayleigh rekindle their friendship but it goes far beyond that. The climactic ending holds a few surprises though the outcome is never in doubt.
Weston is the quiet one of the four teens adopted by the Pattersons. He met Kayleigh years before the adoption, when his foster dad Henry was the gardener of Kayleigh’s family mansion. They made friends playing in the garden, Kayleigh talked and Weston listened. After Henry’s sudden death, Weston went back to state custody and lost touch with Kayleigh. That’s why it is a complete surprise when Kayleigh’s father contacts Weston to protect Kayleigh. When Weston and Kayleigh meet again as adults, the years since they last saw each other seem to evaporate. They are back to the best friends under their favorite free again. But her father’s upcoming merger is causing all kinds of havoc. The mansion is burned. Kayleigh is physically attacked and her home is ransacked. The mystery is that they don’t know who is behind it all, and also someone in her father inside circle is sabotaging them. The danger is following Kayleigh non-stop. Weston is there for Kayleigh every step of the way. The story is action packed without sacrificing the humor. I love the theme of the story – family. The Pattersons are always there to provide each other love and support. The brothers are tighter than blood. I look forward to the next story of this series.
Weston, the strong silent brother who is often misjudged by others as being weak, since he doesn’t talk often but he is a fierce protector and lethal….which works in his favour. His past as a foster child comes calling in the form of a powerful man, who needs protection for his daughter, Kaleigh. Weston doesn’t hesitate, he remembers his only friend back when they were kids and has never forgotten her. Kaleigh is a strong independent woman and doesn’t like to be smothered especially by her dad who takes her security over the top but he has his reasons and when Weston walks back into her life after 20 years, their friendship and ease with each other never died. With threats looming over her head, attacks and a miscommunication has her turning to Weston to keep her safe….Weston with his brothers and family will do whatever it takes to keep her safe…she is his family now and no one will get to her. Loved it!!! Suspense, action, twists and turns and surprises, kept me flipping the pages. And the connection between Weston and Kaleigh, you could feel it. The story flowed beautifully with amazing characters coming to life and I couldn’t stop flipping the pages once I started. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Such a great read! Weston is a favorite and I enjoyed getting to know his character more. Coming from a tragic background, like his brothers – all raised in the foster system until they were lucky to be adopted by the Pattersons, the highlight of his young days was when he could go with his foster dad to his job as a gardener. He loved the outdoors and helping in the garden and seeing his one childhood friend, Kayleigh. They formed a special bond from the start and never forgot each other through the years. By chance-or fate- Weston is brought back into Kayleigh’s life when her father hires Weston as her bodyguard. Sparks fly and they realize their childhood connection is still there, along with a deeper need to become more. Lies, secrets, and betrayal throw these two into dangerous situations where Weston has to rely on all his skills and his brothers’ help to keep them both alive.
I loved this story, everything about it. With an intriguing storyline and charming characters, it was easy to get lost in this book. Weston and Kayleigh were perfect together and I enjoyed catching up with the rest of the family, as well. There is plenty of action, suspense, romance, and family to keep you flipping pages from beginning to end. Weston was a great addition to the series.
A simply wonderful third book in series, loved the characters and plot immensely
I cannot express to other readers how totally blown away you will be by this simply wonderful story which had me captivated throughout. I have always loved this cast of characters and I am sure that you will be riveted by the Patterson a group of young men that grew up to become brave and loyal protectors that spend their days keeping others safe.
Weston may be the more reserved of the brothers however he is as effective as his brothers when it comes to him ensuring that he keeps a client safe. When he is fortunate enough to to meet Kayleigh a girl that has remained in his heart since she disappeared during their childhood.
I guarantee that you will be captivated by this story and the effect that Kayleigh had on Weston, it is a heart pulling story that will keep you captivated by the plot and the eventual outcome.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
We have book #3 in the San Antonio Security series which I loved so much. Weston is the quiet of the Patterson’s with a heart of gold. When he gets a call from his past he doesn’t hesitate. The one person he hasn’t seen since he was a kid his one and only friend until his brothers came into his life is Kayleigh Delacruz. Her father wants him to provide protection for her. It’s the most important thing to him. Weston takes his job very seriously. He fills his brothers on what’s going on. Kayleigh can’t believe Weston is at her fathers home. She doesn’t know what he has up his sleeve now, but she doesn’t like it. Her father knows she doesn’t like the over protection he has on her. They come to a compromise. When she sees Weston again at the family cabin she’s happy. Maybe her father has truly changed. That’s until something happens. That’s when finds out why Weston is really there.
This is a fantastic book. Must buy. A big twist at the end that was a shock to me..
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Texas Bodyguard Weston . This story is absolutely wonderful . This is the third story in the series San Antonio Security . This is Weston's story . Weston Patterson was fortunate to be taken in by the Patterson's and adopted at the age of nine with three other boys they grew up to be brothers and now own San Antonio Security together . Before he was adopted he met Kayleigh Delacruz their friendship he never forgot . He is surprised when he receives a call from Kayleigh's father wanting Weston to be her personal security. Leo Delacruz is involved in a business merger and someone is sending threats involving Kayleigh . Weston steps up and while working to keep Kayleigh safe they discover their feelings are still there just more as adults . As danger increases the entire team steps in to protect and catch who is behind everything . This story is action packed and Suspenseful very intriguing along with romantic . An all out sensational suspense romance . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
Oh my gosh! I adored this opportunity to get up close and personal with Weston. This Patterson brother is the epitome of the strong, silent type. Kayleigh was his childhood playmate and the perfect match for the man he’s become. But first, they both have to survive an enemy that will stop at nothing to win. I loved getting to see the brothers in action again, and I particularly liked that we got to see what made Weston tick. There was so much more going on behind that quiet façade than we’d been able to see in the previous books. My heart hurt for what Kayleigh had gone through as a little girl, yet she never let that experience stop her, and I am in awe of her strength. The ending they got was everything I was hoping it would be, particularly since I didn’t see most of the twists they faced coming. And now, I can’t wait to see what it’s going to take for the final Patterson brother to realize what’s right in front of him. I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.
This is the third book in this wonderful series about four brothers taken in and adopted by the Patterson's they are all mixed race and personalities but together they are a force to be reckoned with and after working in various branches of the military or law they have now come together to form San Antonio Security.
Weston is the quite one of the brothers the one who found it hardest to be a part of the family always hanging back and watching but he had one bright point in his past while fostered by Henry a gardener he met Kayleigh Delacruz now he has been called in by her billionaire father She is in danger and he will do what ever he needs to in an effort to keep her safe Neither has forgotten their play mate but what was friendship has now become so much more and we will discover it is the quite ones that protect the hardest when the woman they love is in danger Like in all this series the boys will rally together to keep their brother's woman safe. This is a fast aced fun read that will keep you engaged until the last page
So this is the 3rd book in this series about the Patterson brothers. They all meet in a foster home and forged a brotherhood stronger than by blood. Now they own a security company. Each book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend them all. This book certainly doesn't disappoint. It has everything you can want - second change, romance, alpha male, suspense - it has it all.
In this book we have Weston who is as protective as he is quiet. He is called on to protect Kayleigh, a childhood friend he hasn't seen since they were kids. What follows is an amazing journey in which Weston does whatever he has to to keep her safe, and Kayleigh works to ensure they never are separated again. The journey is not smooth sailing of course. They butt heads a bit a first and have their own issues to overcome but in the end the pull they feel to each other cannot be denied. The suspense builds and the ending - just wow! I was on the edge of my seat.
I highly recommend this book and look forward to seeing the final Patterson brother get his story!
I love the Patterson's, the 'boys' have all become awesome, confident protectors due to the love and acceptance they were given when they were adopted into the Patterson family, the women that have joined are just as amazing and strong. Weston may be the 'quiet' one but that doesn't mean he is any less effective than his brothers and here we get a beautiful glimpse into his past and one of his few good childhood memories. I love that Weston finds 'his girl' again, she was the closure he never had, his missing piece. Being able to save Kayleigh doesn't just give him closure from his childhood but it also gives him his future, a future he didn't know he needed but now craves desperately. I look forward to the final and no doubt explosive book in the series, Chance and Maci - she is very feisty and sassy but is exactly what Chance needs in a woman....let the fireworks begin!
Non-stop intrigue mixed with an emotional reunion! The third book in the San Antonio Security series by Janie Crouch brings us Weston's story. I was quickly hooked by not only Weston's quiet nature and backstory, but also on the reunion of childhood friends aspect even before we got into the heart of the danger and romance. A really heartfelt connection was at work here throughout.
Kayleigh is sweet and sincere and I enjoyed getting to know her very much. She took the danger happening around her in stride and powered through to be supportive and loyal to her father.
Weston is my new fav! He's sweet, he's loyal and he's an all around great guy ... and getting to know that lost little boy inside of him from way back when was really rewarding.
I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series to anyone who loves a close-knit family who is always there for backup when the going gets tough and even just when life needs a support system. Fast paced and addictive series!
