tbh i didnt care about the damned icon at all, i cared about the struggles of migrant families and how that influences the dynamics between family members… which was marvelously done in chapter 15 ❤️🩹🫠 chapter 15 alone bumped up the rating to 3 stars 🤣
also not a fan of the male gaze descriptions that kept reappearing in the main character‘s pov… it felt icky and uncomfortable to read
