When my grandparents founded the Taylor Corporation, it was to make life better for generations to come.
But Grandma Sofia doesn’t think said generations are trustworthy enough to take over.
“Get married and prove you have a eye to the future,” she said. “It'll be easy,” she said.
But easy is not exactly the word I’d use to describe the new Mrs. Easton Taylor. Phoebe makes flashcards for fun. She’s mouthy, sexy, and uninhibited. Worst of all, I'm now stepfather to a cat named Roger.
Some would call it a marriage of convenience.
But what I got into is more of a convenience store arrangement… an overpriced, fast, knockoff version of the real thing.
So why do I keep imagining something more real with my fake wife?
Piper Marlowe is an absolute legend, if you know where to look. And trust us, you don’t.
For national security reasons, her identity is a secret. As a matter of fact, there’s a good chance that at this very moment, she’s undercover, speaking with a bad Lithuanian accent to a bunch of shady characters. She can neither confirm nor deny that she’s writing ultra-fun, uber-witty, hot-darn-sexy romance to distract from the stress of her current clandestine operation.
Or maybe romance writing is the cover for a cover?
She could tell you, but then she’d have to…you know. That.
New to me author. An ad for this book kept popping up so I decided to check it out.
I’ve read many fake relationship books. Those involving a billionaire typically are focused on the wealth and not always the person. Easton Taylor was different. Marlowe writes her H/h more humble and genuine. Sure, the way they meet is a bit crazy. And yet, some celebrities have met their spouses or SO in similar situations. So… it can happen.
I really liked Phoebe. She was real. Her quick wit captures Easton’s attention and when his friends concoct a hair-brained scheme to help him solve a business dilemma he turns to her with an outrageous proposition.
This was a super cute, quick & fun read, loaded with steamy goodness.
This was a short read that moves very quickly towards its happy ending. If you’re looking for a lowkey romance book to read that doesn’t include too much background noise other than what’s necessary to bring the couple together, you’ll enjoy this book!
Hoping to encourage his grandmother to step down from their family company, eternal bachelor and wealthy businessman Easton takes his friend’s advice and agrees to find a fake wife to shift his image into a reliable, settled man. He sets his sights on someone who, while gorgeous, isn’t usually his type; the waitress at the bar he’s at who refuses to take him seriously. Surely since they’re very different, nothing will happen between them…right?
Phoebe isn’t convinced agreeing to meet the rich, handsome businessman for lunch is the best idea, but as a debt ridden student working on her thesis in between making enough to pay rent, she can’t refuse the money he offers her. When she finds out the real reason he wanted to meet, and eventually agrees to the sham of a wedding, she knows she’s doing the right thing for her future. A chance to wipe away her debt with ample time to work on her thesis is worth a year of her life playing the devoted wife to someone that despite coming from a vastly different life than her, is actually a nice guy.
As they settle into married life and take the necessary steps to show Easton’s grandma he’s truly a changed man, the sparks flying between the new couple cause a real issue in their fake marriage they didn’t see coming: they’re attracted to their partner. With the contract between them and Easton’s goal of securing a new position at the company hanging over them, is giving into the tension worth blurring the lines of their marriage of convenience?
I really liked this book! It was well written, lighthearted, and fast paced, making it easy to relax and enjoy the story without getting caught up in unnecessary details. When I say it’s fast paced, I seriously mean it! It moves much faster than I’m used to in romance books but it wasn’t too over the top. I wouldn’t consider it a slow burn, but there’s definitely some good tension between the MCs before they give in to each other.
The story itself was romance focused and less worried about other aspects of the story, so it’s perfect to read on a relaxing day when you’re craving a fluffy, happy ending. Having said that, the other characters and things going on aside from the romance still had a presence, but the relationship between the MCs was the focal point with most of the book taking place in their apartment. Not a bad thing, but if you’re looking for a more angsty book, this book is fluff through and through.
If I ever want to read a quick, well written romance book I’ll definitely check out the rest of the series!
I didn't expect to enjoy The Billionaire's Guide to The Marriage Deal by Piper Marlowe as much as I did, but as soon as I started it I was IN. It was a great fake marriage story, with a few twists, and there was some good comedy to it. I especially loved Phoebe's love of her cat, Roger, and her determination for Easton to love him as much as she does. One aspect that didn't really make sense to me in the book is at the beginning Phoebe was very focused on the fact that she's in grad school writing her thesis and didn't have time to write it because of how much she has to work. But after she marries Easton her being a grad student is never really mentioned again, and neither is her wanting to be a social worker, which I think would have been a nice addition. Because it was just forgotten after she marries a rich man it just makes her seem, I don't know, a bit shallow even though I'm sure she is still going to finish her degree and work. Waitress and grad student Phoebe Jones has too much on her plate, she juggling too much with no time to write the thesis that will allow her to get her degree in clinical social work, but she's getting by. And then one day an annoying rich guy offers her $5,000 to meet him for dinner and her a proposition from him. After checking up on who he is, and finding out he's set to be the next CEO of the Taylor Corporation, and making it very clear she is not a s*x worker she agrees to meet with him for the five grand and hear him out. Not knowing what he could possibly want from her she is shocked to hear that he wants her to marry him, for one year, he'll pay off her student loans, give her a stipend and she'll leave the marriage a million dollars richer. What could go wrong, living with an hot billionaire? Easton Taylor respects his grandmother and the business she and his grandfather built together, and knows she's a shrewd business woman. But in the last few years he's noticed she's started to lose her edge. He wants her to step down so he can make sure to keep the business that she built up can continue on and grow even further. The problem is she doesn't think he's settled down enough to run the business, so when his friends suggest he get married to a stranger for a fake marriage he realizes what a good idea it is. Surprisingly he immediately find their waitress to be the perfect candidate for his fake wife. What could go wrong when you have a real attraction to his fake wife?
I had such a great time reading this, so much so that I’m sad it’s over.
First, Phoebe. If you've been looking for a character who will make you laugh, root for her, and just adore every quirky thing she does, then Phoebe is your girl. She’s not just a breath of fresh air…she’s an entire windstorm of energy and humor. Her drive and passion for life made me wish I could be a little more like her. She’s unapologetically herself, not afraid to speak her mind, and has this infectious zest for life that makes her so easy to love. She isn’t trying to fit into anyone’s mold, and that’s what I loved most about her. Every time she spoke, I felt like I was right there with her, cracking up at her witty comebacks and bright personality.
Then there’s Easton. I never expected to fall for a billionaire who could be so...well, human. Easton is the complete opposite of what you’d expect from a guy who runs a massive company. He’s not the cold, ruthless CEO looking to bulldoze everything in his path. Easton genuinely cares about the business his family built. You can see the weight he carries, the responsibility he feels for it, and his quiet determination to make sure the company thrives for generations to come. It was refreshing to read about a character who isn’t just about power and control. There’s a vulnerability to him, something that makes him stand out in the world of billionaire romance.
But of course, the real magic of this book is the connection between Phoebe and Easton. I swear, their chemistry is so undeniable, it almost jumps off the page. The tension between them? Insane. What starts as a marriage of convenience quickly becomes something much deeper, more intense, and completely undeniable.
And let’s not forget Roger, the cat. Yes, I’m talking about a cat. Because Phoebe’s little sidekick was such a great addition to the story. I loved how Roger became a little symbol of the unexpected things in life that come with love and relationships. He might be a cat, but he added his own quirky charm to the whole dynamic, and I couldn’t help but smile at the way he integrated into Phoebe and Easton’s lives.
All in all, this book hit all the right notes for me. I loved the characters, I loved the chemistry, and I loved how everything came together in the end.
𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗦: Billionaire romance, marriage of convenience, roommates to lovers, opposite attract
Easton Taylor needs to settle down in order to prove to his headstrong grandmother that he is ready to take over the family company, and what better way than to find himself a fake wife. Which is how Easton finds himself in the position that he is now in with one sassy sexy wife that keeps him up at night and a furry stepchild named Roger. All they need to do is fake it for a year and Easton should be golden the only problem being are the very real feelings that his starting to develop for his fake wife… the question now is can Easton actually make something real with Phoebe?
..
I just loved this fake turned real steamy romcom, firstly the whole marriage of connivance trope is always a winner for me and this was very much the case with this book! I loved that this was a fast paced, sassy, steamy read with a couple that was impossible not to love.
..
Phoebe was such a cool character, I loved her drive and zest for life. I just loved that she was such a real character that was facing very normal financial issues, not only was she real but she was genuinely a nice person. I just loved her passion for flash cards and how this brought her and Easton closer together. The chemistry between Easton and Phoebe was HOT!! Talk about steaming up the pages! This couple balanced each other out perfectly with all their kinks and banter.
..
As for our hottie hero, Easton was just perfect. I loved that he was not the stereotypical mean boss that wanted to take over the family business, but the actually cared about the company and his employees. I just loved getting to see him falling in love with Phoebe and their makeshift family. As for Roger the cat, well I just melted at seeing Easton and this fur ball grow closer!
..
The Marriage Deal is definite must read, this steamy hot fake turned real romance will have you hooked right from the start! I can not wait to get my hands on the rest of this series!
This book is a combination of the fake marriage plus billionaire romance tropes, and while this book follows all the expected formulas, there are wonderful little snippets of the unexpected. Some of my favorite moments include the presence of Roger, Grandma Sofia’s personality, and the … shall we say, intimate… deal that Phoebe and Easton make to keep their marriage professional while still enjoying themselves.
I do wish we had gotten to know Phoebe a little better aside from her need to make money - she spends a lot of time studying but we don’t learn much about the motivation behind her field of study. Her personality shines through the most in Easton’s reactions to her, when I would have liked to know more about her outside of their arrangement. I think we get a little more backstory to Easton through his business and get to know his motivations are for the best, but in contrast Phoebe is very money-minded when the relationship begins. That being said, they do have very different yet complimentary personalities, and I enjoy when two contrasting characters even each other out to create a beautiful partnership.
Piper Marlowe has a way with words folks! And The Billionaire’s Guide to The Marriage Deal shows every angle she can turn those words to get a point across or an effect felt. Let me give you a couple of ways she turned me. As in turning my head one way with a “what??” look and the next moment turning my head to keep folks from seeing me laughing my butt off. Turning the heart warm with touching moments. Oh, and then of course there were the times when I turned so people could not tell how hot her story was getting. Piper Marlowe is that dang good folks.
Easton and Phoebe grabbed my heart from page one. When trying to make new arrangements work, strangers sometimes battle to get out of each other's way. But, when two people have that much love for family, what can you expect but powerful connections, and powerful battles. Both of them are strong willed, but hey, passion has a way of softening the most stubborn of people. Watching these two grow together was heartwarming. Oh, and then there is Grandma Sofia… but I can’t give EVERYTHING away.
Piper, this is a great story and worth all the stars I could give. I look forward to your next adventure with a smile and a squirm!
Easton was raised in a wealthy and affluent lifestyle and has been groomed to take over the family business. The only thing standing in his way is his grandmother’s belief that she wants him settled in his personal life first. Desperate times call for desperate measures so he convinces Phoebe that a marriage of convenience would meet both their needs.
Phoebe is trying to balance working and finishing her education. Her finances are very tight so when Easton offers a solution, she can’t say no. What she hadn’t expected was that the wedding would be the easy part, and that the marriage would be when the hijinks really began.
Fun and flirty I enjoyed watching the relationship between Easton and Phoebe unfold as they realized that there is nothing fake about their feelings for each other. The characters draw you in and there is a great cast of secondary characters, both human and animals, which make the story even better.
A super cute quick read! Easton is a rich businessman wanting to finally take over the family business. His Grandmother is old fashion and doesn’t want to give up her position unless she knows he is committed. She wants him to be committed to more things then just work, she wants him to be thinking about a family. So when out for lunch with his 2 best friends they come up with the fake marriage plan. Who better to do it then the waitress severing them their lunch. Phoebe is a struggle grad student trying to finish school and start paying off her huge debt. When she gets an offer she can’t refuse she sees a solution to her problem. This was a funny, cute story that I truly enjoyed. Between her silly cat, the meddling family members and their best friends this was extremely entertaining. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
If there's an author that can do romance and comedy it is Piper Marlowe all the way. In the beginning we have two sides of Easton Taylor that Piper shows us and boy it's hard to really figure him out. We have the rich, wealthy playboy only caring about his company and then we see the vulnerable, lonely wanting love kind of a guy nobody really sees. Then we have Phoebe who is so opposite from Easton yet in many ways have a lot of in common he has never seen before. Piper Marlowe shows us that no matter how much money or wealth you are love has a way of finding you when you least expect it. All in all I can see this story come to life like a hallmark romcom grabbing you from the beginning to the end, loved it.
"I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own."
Piper Marlowe did an amazing job with her debut rom-com The Billionaire's Guide to the Marriage Deal. Easton and Phoebe's story had me laughing from the start while also intrigued by their non-relationship and Easton's usual tastes when it came to sexy-time fun.
Phoebe and Easton are pretty much opposites in all ways. Phoebe is sassy and snarky while Easton possesses that cool confidence that seems to come with the billionaire playboy package. While I wasn't totally sold on how Easton chose Phoebe to be his partner in this marriage of convenience I loved the banter between them, Easton's love/hate relationship with Roger and just the journey these two go on as they slip from fake into real.
Then add in the incredible chemistry and connection these two have when they finally give in to all those sexy time desires and this book has some spiciness to it! There is a little bit of a 50 Shades vibe with Easton's tastes in women/bedroom activities- so that combined with the lightness and fun that comes in a rom-com I found that I didn't hate the combination.
Overall I really enjoyed my time with these two and their journey to HEA and am looking forward to what Piper Marlowe has in store for us next.
What a delightful introduction to Piper Marlowe, I really enjoyed how she did romance and comedy. The story is mostly centered around Easton. He is wealthy man who likes to play the field and main focus is taking over the family business. He is a great example is there is more than meets the eye. Then there is Phoebe, she works hard, and study harder. Her goal is doing what she needs to uin order to finish school. Phoebe is the answer to Easton's problems. In the beginning they are focused on the reason they entered the arrangement but I really enjoyed the development into the more. I enjoyed how they found they need more than the goals they had set for themselves. The supporting characters were great. The comedy/banter was great. Overall great read.
Easton Taylor needs to be taken seriously by his grandmother in order to take over the family business. Phoebe is a broke college student. Easton proposes a deal that Phoebe cannot turn down, marry him for a year and he will pay for her masters, one million dollars and let her keep the ring. One thing Phoebe is 100% adamant about is NO SEX, she is not a prostitute. We all know that that was not a clause that they could keep. What happens next is steamy, funny and filled with some of the best tropes and banter. I loved the characters in this book, I would have liked to see more of Easton's sister though. I think her investigation skills would have made for some funny situations. Overall this was a fun weekend read and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Hallmark movies but with spice.
This was a quicker funny romantic read that was just a delight to read. There were so many aspects of this book that I just loved about this story, such as Roger and the fact the MCs tried so hard to make their relationship believable. You will get a hoot out of Phoebe and some of her antics and studying tips but also how Easton handles situations. And, don't let me forgot Grandma Sophia, hehehe, she is one of my favorites too. The storyline flowed well and the romance was hot which was delicious and having being a romcom the laughable moments were at the right moments and needed to be where they needed to be. This was a good read so worth your while to grab.
Easton is ready to take over his family’s company but his grandmother does not think he is. In an effort to show he is serious and settled, he contracts with Phoebe, a waitress looking to pay off her school loans, to be his wife for one year. He thinks Phoebe is not his type but the more he gets to know her, the more attracted he is to her. But can they take something fake and make it real?
This is the first book in what will be a series. It is light and funny and an easy read. You will enjoy the characters, especially Phoebe’s cat! I look forward to reading the other books in the series.
So very good! It is sexy and fun. I didn't want to stop reading for work, food, or sleep. Easton and Phoebe are just marvelous together. The steamy scenes are great. It is fun how they use Phoebe's flash cards to learn about each other. It becomes their go to way to converse. Roger the cat is a wonderful comic relief. He grows on you. Monty is a wonderful friend to Phoebe. I hope he gets his HEA too. I have found a new author to follow. I look forward to the next book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
So Easton didn’t even think he needed a contract bride, but his friends did and sassy waitress Phoebe was the lucky gal. She agrees and they start this sham, but their chemistry comes thru the pages and they act on it and now major feelings happen. The writer talks about the kinks Easton has and the couple has many steamy moments but not a ton of description at all - just mentions of the moments. There was a scare and it was never followed up on and that left my ocd gng nuts. The HEA was good and I really liked how they had a cute relationship.
oh my this one is such a cute read. it falls almost under a rom com with everything. but really I'm new to this author and once I got started I couldn't stop. I kept wanting more out of this couple even though they started in an unusual way they really did find true love.
you have to read this one yourself and experience everything the couple goes through. I hope to get to read more from this author soon and I can't wait to see whats next
I enjoyed Phoebe and Easton's story, how they started and the spark that was there between them. I loved both of them, the back and forth that they have kept the pages turning. Phoebe's goals and fire to create something better really added to the connection between them. The read is fun, full of heat and how they build something from this deal. I'm looking forward to more from this series!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Typical marriage of conscience. Easton wants to take over his grandmothers company, but she doesn’t think he is ready due to his wild boy side.
He the meets Phoebe and makes a contract with her to pay her a lot do money if she marries him and convinces his grandmother it’s real for 1 year, at that point they will both go their separate ways.
However as predicted, they end up falling in love for real.

I'm into marriage of convenience lately, so even though I've never read this author before, this one sounded good. It was, although I had a hard time overcoming my first impression of phoebe. I liked easton right away, so he was easier to get on board with. I did find it crazy how quick it all happened, but I did enjoy it. I will read this author again.
This is the first book I've read by the author. I really enjoyed Easton and Phoebe's fake marriage/marriage of convenience. I read it in just one sitting because I couldn't put it down. I loved that Easton was the first one to fall. It's pretty much a feel-good and straightforward romance, with minimal drama.
I loved how light this story was with everything going on these days the last thing I want or need is more emotional weight on my shoulders even if its in book form this story had fun witty characters that keeps you smiling and often laughing out loud its my first book from this author and not my last
Phoebe was just what Easton needed. She was feisty, sassy, smart, and beautiful. Though not hilarious, this book had some lol moments. The typical fake-marriage to real love theme was written with good characters. There was just enough banter between Easton and Phoebe to make the book a fun read. Would recommend this book to a friend.
This turned out to be a pretty good story-definitely better than I was expecting. Marlowe brings the characters to life and keeps them real. Nothing drives a romance better than likable characters, and all the characters in this story are likable. Smooth writing style, clean editing, awesome heat in the bedroom, and believable dialogue made for a most enjoyable read.
When you need to be married ASAP and you're not dating anyone, what is a rich, eligible bachelor supposed to do? Why he hires a sexy waitress who's in need of money to be his wife for a year. What happens when love gets involved? Will they let the marriage become real or will they part ways as planned?
Easton and phoebe are cute. Fake marriage but turns real. I loved the book has some bdsm. Easton wants to take over for his grandma. So he came up with a fake marriage plan to win company.
I received an advance readers copy and voluntarily doing this review.
