Lia Fairchild ALWAYS gets me with her writing. I absolutely love her style. This is the 2nd book I've read by her and it didn't disappoint! Absolutely loved Shay and Brooks, their banter back and forth was my fave thing. His rugged exterior was sexy. And there is PLENTY of spice 🔥 Absolutely loved this book, would've given 5 stars but took a star off for how brooks was near the ending, felt he was more mature than that. Either way, amazing read! I absolutely recommend!

I love Lia's books! With that being said I was a little nervous going I to this one. I'm a complete newbie to the Salvation Society world, and I was worried I might be lost reading. But my worries were in vain. This reads as a complete standalone.
This is a slow burn, slight age gap romance. Brooks is hired to be up and coming model, Shay Cain's new bodyguard. Shay has a stalker and Brooks has made it his mission to protect her at all costs. What he didn't see coming was the instant attraction he felt for her.
Over all I really enjoyed Protector. The chemistry between Brooks and Shay jumped off the page. I loved Brooks' strong protective instincts, and Shay was quite the little spitfire! She wasn't the textbook damsel in distress. She showed loads of strength, when most women would crumble.
There were some parts that were kind of slow and I found myself skimming, but other than that, the book is a winner!

Shay is a celebrity that just wants to make her own decisions and live her life for herself. She sometimes feels like everyone knows what's best for her but her. When a stalker becomes more and more active she has no choice but to have a bodyguard. What she didn't expect is the older, handsome, Brooks. Brooks has had his fair share of drama and celebrity and does not want to do that again, but as a favor to his boss, he takes a job. When he meets Shay he knows he will do whatever he has to in order to protect her. This story is about balance and love. It's about making sure that no one takes a shot at his girl and it's about growth for the both of them. Fall in love with a bodyguard you wish was yours.

This slow burn, age gap, bodyguard-celebrity romance was really well-written! I’m new to this author’s work, but I like how the characters were developed and the story flowed. There were a few parts of the bit that felt a bit slow to me in terms of pacing, but still a great read!

This is the first book of Lisa’s I am reading. It’s a small age gap romance with plenty of chemistry. I definitely recommend this book. It’s an awesome read!!!

One of my favorite MMCs is the fierce protector and Brooks did not disappoint! This is a bodyguard, age gap romance with low spice and a slow burn. It’s has all the angst and longing as Brooks struggles with the fear of letting Shay down and the fear of not being good enough. The writing is really good and the story kept me reading.

Shay is a model who has attracted the attention of the wrong person and the concern is that this person’s attempts are escalating so Brooks is hired to protect her. She understands the need for protection however she also wants to live her life and her attraction for Brooks is making a complicated situation even more complicated.
Brooks was chosen for this assignment as he has always managed to not cross the line from professional to personal with his client. Despite his attraction for her he knows the best way to keep her safe is abiding by those rules but that might be the one challenge he can’t meet.
The suspense aspect of the story was intriguing, both characters and their backstories draw you in and there is a great group of supporting characters as well.

The story follows Shay, an up and coming model who is being stalked and needs a body guard. Shay hires Brooks and immediately feels a connection to this new hot (older) ex-soldier bodyguard. Sparks fly with both characters. The author does a great job with giving both characters their own thoughts throughout the book so it helps with understanding both their feelings. The story is fast past with character building moments, love scenes that are charming and make you smile as well as thriller scenes with suspense and danger. You can’t help but root for them to be together.
I throughly enjoyed the book and smiled the whole time. It was sweet and charming and just what I want to read as the characters fall in love, you fall in love with them.

I love it! I really enjoyed reading it! A great story line with really good characters! I loved how the story flowed so well from one page to the next.. I was really happy that the characters took their time they got to know each other.. let their chemistry build and the funny banter they exchanged between each other .. it really made reading the book a lot of fun! It has all the elements any book lover could possibly want! Suspense, twists and turns, adrenaline, amazing characters, passion and Romance!!

Another great book added to the Salvation Society. I am new to this author but did a great job writing great characters and brought back some we love from other books. I love Brooks and Shay. I didn’t think I was going to enjoy the fact that it was an age gap and a lot of the times they can be a bit of a miss for me. However this book I truly enjoyed. Loved Brooks alpha protective side and Shay’s sassy side. I highly recommend this book.

Having Brooks protect me would never be a bad thing. This book is a wonderful forced proximity slow burn story of two different people that fight to give in to what they are feeling to protect Shay from an unknown stalker. Lie has written a wonderfully hot and suspenseful story not to be missed.

I enjoyed this book. As just now reading spicy books, this book had a good amount of introductory spice. Not so much I cringed but enough to help me decide if it was actually for me. The story was good. I overall really enjoyed this book and would recommend to others.

New to me romantic suspense author coupled with Jackson and Catherine from The Salvation Society...yes please! I loved how Lia Fairchild included them into this story in a new and fresh way without losing who they were.
As for Protector...I liked that Shay was determined not to let her situation change her or her life. While she was nervous, anxious and fearful of what was happening, she was determined to not let her stalker win. Enter Brooks. Broody and reserved. Smart and willing to do what it took to get the job done.
In this instance that was keeping Shay safe through her various ventures. She didn't make it easy on him. Flirting and going out. Putting herself in a position where there were too many people to keep an eye on them all. But somewhere between the nagging and pushing buttons something shifted. An understanding. Respect. Like...maybe more...
I wanted more danger thrown into the mix as they scrambled to figure out who the mystery man was. I won't lie, I figured out who was behind everything before the big reveal- the clues are certainly there if you follow them. That being said, I read Protector in one sitting. Brooks and Shay's bodyguard romance was equal parts sassy and suspenseful, sexy and sweet.

To say it hooked me is an understatement—I was completely captivated by the suspense and mystery woven throughout the story. The dialogue and inner thoughts of the characters felt so authentic and relatable, which I truly appreciated.
The chemistry between the protagonists builds so intensely and is absolutely electric. This was my first book by Lia Fairchild, but it certainly won't be my last. I can't wait to dive into more of her work.

The mystery surrounding her stalker was done really well and I wasn’t sure who it was and I loved that! It felt realistic and the pacing was wonderful.
I loved how protective Brooks was and his journey to forgive himself as well. Shay was one of my favorites, she was dedicated and real. I loved how she dealt with the trauma she had been through and didn’t lose herself.

This book was definitely your typical romance story. A few of the plot lines seemed unfinished or just thrown in to add extra pizzaz with no real need for them, which made the ending seem incomplete. It left me with quite a few questions that I wish had been explained. Stalker Sam needed more of a background/why story. Jade definitely should've had a feminine rage moment. Shay's dad and brother hiding out in Greece? It just seemed like a bunch of half thought ideas and a very rushed romance timeline. But, if you are looking for a predictable, cheesy romance, this is your book.

Another great addition to the Salvation Society books. I am new to this author, but I enjoyed this book a lot. Shay is a public figure and is being stalked. Catherine is her PR Agent and brings in one of Jackson's guys to protect Shay- Brooks is ex-military and is protecting Shay and trying to uncover the stalker. Great mystery.
