My love for reading developed at an early age. My parents, Daniel and Gwendolyn Odidison, were both avid readers and encouraged me to read as much as possible. Trips to the public library were the highlight of my week and by the time I was in junior high I was reading everything from biographies to suspense to True Confession magazines!

I got my big “break” when I was only fourteen-years-old. I read my first poem at my local church and received a standing ovation. Reading my poems and seeing my plays come to life on stage proved to me that I had a God-given talent for the written word.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education, I hugged my family goodbye and boarded a plane for Seoul, South Korea. I loved every minute of living in Seoul. The people, the food, the culture, the shopping. Three years later, I returned home with a fresh outlook on life and a gorgeous fiancé (yay me!) Jean-Claude and I married, settled into our new home and now have an adorable, three-year-old daughter named Aysiah who keeps us very busy.

I penned my first novella while teaching in South Korea and upon the advice of a good friend and colleague I transformed, Other People’s Business, into a full-length novel. I wrote The Trouble With Luv’ soon after. Two years and thirty rejection letters later, I signed with super-agent Sha-Shana Crichton from Crichton and Associates. Six weeks later I had a two-book deal contract with Harlequin’s African-American Romance line, Kimani Press.

Her Kind of Man, and Love T.K.O. were both released in ’08, and this year there are more scintillating stories to come. I’ve written seven books now, but I feel like I’m just getting started! A huge thanks to all of you who attend my book signings, send me I-love-your-book-emails, leave messages on my Facebook page and who are recommending my books to other die-hard romantics. Sage Collins and Marshall Grant will heat things up in Games of the Heart (August 2009) and a feisty PR Director and a fine, ex-NFL running back rekindle the flames in Passion Overtime (November 2009). Read an excerpt of my novels under the heading Books.

If you enjoy a good romance story, rich with desire, scorching HOT love scenes and a few unexpected twists and turns along the way, you’ve come to the right place. Grab one of my books, recline in a comfy chair and enjoy the ride! I guarantee you’ll love the heroes and heroines featured in my stories. They’re strong but flawed men and women who are just looking for a little love and tenderness! That’s all for now, friends.
Happy Reading and be blessed!

Nicco Morretti is a hot millionaire restaurateur/shipping company heir. Jariah Brooks is a single mother to Ava, dealing with a conniving ex and his mother, who is viciously mean to her. She applies for a job at Morretti Inc in a finance position, but the HR woman hates her too (a lot of people seem to hate Jariah), and refuses to hire her. So Nicco offers Jariah a position as his executive assistant, which Jariah quite snootily turns down. However, she's getting low on cash, and eventually accepts the position. They fall into insta-love and all the obstacles that come their way are dealt with quickly, flatly and often inexplicably.

Not very good. Jariah has no less than three women who hate on her so ridiculously viciously, and none of them get their comeuppance. Nicco's parents go from hating her, calling her a slut, gold-digger and all manner of other accusations, to suddenly loving her and telling her she's a valued member of the family, literally within the space of SECONDS. Huh???? We only get told about important conversations between Jariah and Nicco after they have happened, without learning what was actually said. Other issues about who sent the email to Jariah's parents, and who set fire to Nicco's car are randomly abandoned. Nicco and Jariah seem to have sex without Nicco ever taking off his pants.

And I certainly wouldn't want to work for Morretti Inc! The boss sitting in on the interview and asking the interviewee if they're single? Huh??? The HR representative who doesn't want to hire single mothers? Huh???

This seemed to demonstrate what I thought were common no-no's in writing! All telling and no showing. Head-hopping between character perspectives within the same paragraph. Creating conflict and not following through. Zero consistency in terms of pacing or characterisation. It probably deserves one star, but I wasn't bored, and I did get some enjoyment out of the obvious caricatures and the many writing 101 faux pas! I doubt I'll read anything else by this author, though!

Nicco Morretti first sees Jariah at a coffee shop. He was instantly attracted to her and he wanted her. Jariah didn't want to hear anything Nicco was saying in the beginning and she didn't really know who he was. That all changed when she starting working for him and she actually got to know the real Nicco. She could help falling in love with him and being with Jariah made him want to settle down. Of course there were people in their lives that didn't want them to together but Nicco was determined that she was going to be his. I loved Nicco's story and I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

It was definitely a very hot and interesting love story. Both Jariah and Italian-born Nicco met their matches when they met one another. This story focuses on being comfortable in your own skin and it also focuses on a couple that's made for each other regardless of their social status. Awesome read that I enjoyed immensely. I can't wait to read the last installment of the Morretti Millionaires.

Although I love all of the Morretti's brothers, I believe that I love Nicco and Jariah's story the most. Excellent read as well a second time around.

Not bad, but Wesley's and Nicco's mothers irritated me and I was hoping Jariah would give each a piece of her mind.

Good read

Love story between Nico and Jariah. Jariah single mom is desperate for a job after being denied a job opportunity she is more than qualified for because of her status as a single mom at the Morretti Corp. Nico Morretti who has seen Jariah earlier and made a pass at her and was shot down still wanted a shot at her hire her as his personal assistant. Pro nice love story both characters are interesting. She is independent and hard working, with some self esteem issues. He is hard working and a player who wants a change. Con editing celebration of parents 25th anniversary yet oldest son is 35, other editing errors make you read passage more than once. Also how do you keep someone in HR who openly admit to discrimination is ugh.. Her daughter is a handful and borders on being a brat. His parents are disrespectful and snobs until they discover she speaks Italian, then all is right in their world. She needed to put her daughter grandmother in place once she found out she was mentally abusing her daughter about her weight. Her own parents did not understand what was going on there.

Though I didn't agree with Jariah's decision to stay with Nicco's company despite the strong attraction between them, I can understand why she did it. It's hard to be stuck between the Devil and the deep blue sea. I'm so glad that it all worked out in the end for her and her love, and I'm a sucker for a happy ending. It is a wonderful sequel, madam!

Who did it.

I’m glad the story continues about another character, but I hope it will be too drawn out as to who put the car on fire. I do have an idea, but would like to know whether I am correct.

Great series (The Morrett Millionaires). Jariah Brooks is an unemployed single mother looking for work. Nicco Morretti is CEO of the Morretti Company and runs Dolce Vita, the restaurant. Jariah applies for a job in the accounting department, and ends up as Nicco's executive assistant. Nicco is enthralled with Jariah, and realizes that he needs a feisty, spirited woman like her in his life. Jariah is sfraid to risk her heart again, but Nicco sweeps her off her feet.

Class is and always will play a part in the way we treat others. Honest, smart loyal, and trustworthy to a fault are the traits of Jariah. However being from "the wrong side of the track" she is looked down on Then we learn there is more to rich playboy Niceo that meets the eye.

I like Pamela Yaye books. This book's story line was okay. I liked Nicco's character. Even though I thought Nicco was kind of arrogant I liked what he did for Jariah. I thought Ava was adorable. I liked Jariah's character. I just wish Jariah had a backbone & stood up for herself.
