May 10, 2025I will not be providing a rating, as I did not finish the book. Although I was enjoying her message and the advice she has learned from her experiences in life…she does compare JKR to Rosa Parks and Malala as being influential. Now, if this was published prior to the nastiness that JKR has come out with, I would have loved to keep going. However, after reading, it just left a bad taste in my mouth and makes me concerned as to why this stayed in the finished copy.
Kind of bummed because I know the author was probably trying to make a wholesome point as she reflects on her upbringing, but there should have been some hesitancy to include certain things.

I hopped back on my nonfiction kick and picked up Confused Girl last week. Her byline is Find Your Peace in the Chaos, and I think that is so important. I think we all can so easily be swept up in chaos and it’s hard to break out of that and stay positive. This was a great mix of self-help, her personal stories, and a very positive vibe even when she shared some dark stuff.
I did the second half on audio, since I was driving a lot last week, and overall enjoyed her narration. For some of us that don’t have the LA lifestyle, I did have to chuckle when she talked about being at celebrity parties and having designer friends bringing her chandeliers. Not only did she write a book, but she also started her own yoga pants business! Check out her Instagram!

Confused Girl is a self help book mixed in with personal anecdotes from the author all about embracing the unknown, the confusing bits, and the “what-nows?” And turning them into something positive.
While I admittedly am not a huge self-help book girlie, I can appreciate what the message is here, causing me to give this one a higher rating than I’d maybe initially be inclined to given the genre. I think there’s a lot that would WILDLY benefit someone in their 20’s, but even as someone approaching their mid 30’s, I appreciated the authors candidness and could relate to the feelings of uncertainty in life.
I particularly enjoyed the chapters on creativity and destiny as a moving target. These sections in particular felt applicable to my own current situation in life and helped me frame things in a new and beneficial light.
Like most self-help books, I found some portions a little long winded or repetitive. However, the author ends each section with a bullet pointed recap, which I think is great for those wanting to get a quick grasp on the general ideas and key take always of each section without having to deep dive if they don’t see fit.
Overall, I think this is a great read for any young adult who feels a little lost or confused and wants a clear cut guide/girl powered pep talk to help them navigate through it

This is definitely outside of my usual kind of reads, but I still found myself really enjoying it. The mix of memoir and self-help felt honest without being preachy, and the author’s journey from burnout to clarity was super relatable. I liked how she framed confusion as something to move through rather than escape from—it made the whole thing feel like a gentle reminder that not having it all figured out is okay. Some parts dragged a bit or felt repetitive, which kept it from being a full 5, but overall it hit at the right time and left me feeling a little more grounded. A good book to read around my 30th bday.

This book was a delight! The author’s refreshing honesty, candid storytelling and spunky narration were so fun to listen to. While I don’t think I’m the target audience for this book (33 y/o stay at home mom who’s been through extensive therapy) I think me in her 20’s would’ve tremendously benefited from a book like this. If you’re feeling lost and discouraged with the path of your life, this book is for you!

The synopsis of this book sounded like something that might really appeal to me. It was billed as a guidebook to empower women of all ages to chart a positive course through the turbulence of our rapidly-changing world and create the life of their dreams.
While there were some good nuggets of advice and the pages are filled with a ton of uplifting encouragement, I definitely think this book is better geared for women in their twenties and early thirties. In fact, I wish I would have had this book when I was in my twenties, trying to figure out who I was and struggling to find my self-worth!
Overall, the guidance in this book just didn't seem as relatable to me in my current stage in life, so it wasn't as powerful for me as I'd hoped it would be. That lack of relatability is the primary reason for my rating.
Each chapter started with a positive and empowering quote, and I really enjoyed reading those throughout the book. My favorite quote, offered from an unknown source, was "Maybe it's not about the happy ending. Maybe it's about the story."
If you are someone who enjoys self-help reads -- especially if you're in your late teens, twenties, or even thirties -- I think you'll find this one a really empowering and uplifting book to add to your TBR list when it's released in May!

Whether you’re facing a tough chapter in your life or just looking for a little inspiration, this is a heartfelt and empowering read that every woman can take something from.

This book isn't one I usually read, but the cover intrigued me, so I decided to read it, and I don't regret my choice.
The book touches on many important themes that affect us in everyday life: anxiety, lack of self-confidence, loneliness, love, comparison, jealousy, depression, and many more. I find it very interesting that the author addresses these sensitive topics because they are emotions or events that we've all felt or experienced. Moreover, she addresses these themes by telling us her own story, which allows us to get to know her a little better.
This book evoked different feelings in me because I recognized myself in different passages of the book, and because some of the words the author mentions really touched my heart.🥺
Furthermore, the author gives us advice on how to become the best version of ourselves, and I found this advice very useful.🥰

I came away feeling a little more empowered to embrace the “confused girl” in myself. Highly recommend for anyone navigating life transitions, chasing purpose, or simply needing a reminder that clarity often comes from confusion.

I really enjoyed this one. It felt more like a mix of memoir and life advice than a typical self help book and it never felt preachy. Giovanna’s voice is so relatable and encouraging, like chatting with a friend over coffee. I loved how she reframes confusion as something powerful instead of something to hide from. What I appreciated most was how the book didn’t try to offer perfect answers. It embraced confusion, insecurity, and growth in a way that felt deeply human. There were parts where I saw my own thoughts reflected back at me the doubt, the searching, the longing to live with purpose but not always knowing how.

At first the cover name didn't interest me or catch my attention, but after reading the book, the name fits perfectly. So I guess it's true, don't judge a book by its cover! This book goes over so many great topics like shame, guilt, and self-love. it also talks about how to clear out the clutter in your life and make space for new experiences, manifesting health and happiness and becoming unstoppable. The information is outlined, highlighted and organized in a great fashion, that's easy to understand. It's an easy read and the information is direct and it flows very nicely. It's very informative and has a lot of research to back up the points she makes, with a few stories as examples, but it doesn't contain too many stories, like a lot of books, her stories actually enhances what she is saying and it's not just to add fluff. At the end of each chapter, she does chapter recaps of all the important information that she went over in that chapter. It's very helpful to have a summary to recap what you've already read and the important takeaways of each chapter. I don't believe that there is one area of life, that's important, that she doesn't cover in this book. I honestly can't think of anything else I would add to this book, which is very rare for me! It includes a lot of great tips and examples of how to apply the suggestions to your life, in a way that works for YOU. Every woman should have a guidebook to life, like this one! It's definitely a book I will keep and re-read! I'm very happy I came across this book and to think that I may never have read it, would have been a great disappointment, to say the least. It's a great addition to my self-help collection. This book is definitely something that will help me find peace, joy, happiness and calmness in the chaos of my everyday life! This book encourages you to find your purpose in life, live your life fully and make the most out of the short time we have here on this Earth. “Confused Girl” by Giovanna Silvestre is an honest and inspiring book about navigating uncertainty, doubt and new beginnings. The author recounts her experiences in a very personal way – and that is precisely what makes her message so tangible. Although I am not usually a fan of self-help books, I was impressed by her openness.
Some chapters, such as those on creativity or dealing with guilt, particularly appealed to me and helped me gain new perspectives on my own situation. Although I found certain passages a little long-winded, the concise summaries at the end of each section were helpful and well structured.
This book is aimed primarily at young adults, but it can also be a valuable companion for others.
Overall, it is an encouraging read – honest, not patronising, and with an important message: it's okay to be confused.
The book came at just the right time for me and gave me the feeling that there is a little more meaning in my current situation than I can see right now.
The parallels to my own experiences made me feel understood, and it was good to realise that I am not alone with my thoughts.

This book is super relatable, especially to the girl who’s on her self discovery journey! Giovanna does an amazing job getting vulnerable in the messiness of life and how to embrace it. The book really pulls you in to a storyline that’s personal and, yet can be real and relevant to so many others, especially myself! Well written, easy to understand and follow, a feeling of a personal connection with the author through storytelling, and great life advice — this book is everything you might need to hear if you’re in a season of confusion or uncertainty in your life.
I loved the constant reassurance throughout the book that life is going to be okay, the good and the bad will come but if you listen to your heart and your gut, you will end up exactly where you need to be.
I highly recommend this book for everyone, but especially older teens and those in their 20s!

May 23, 2025Don’t include a star rating for anything that has even has some part memoir vibes since it is such a personal experience but there are aspects of this book that I think women in many stages of life could relate too and while I don’t read a lot of non fiction but it was written well and had some nice messages.

Confused Girl by Giovanna Silvestre is a self help/memoir hybrid that is all about learning how to be your best self even when you are a Confused Girl.
I don’t really read any self help so I don’t have a lot to compare this one to. I thought a lot of the passages were very insightful and I really enjoyed learning about Silvestre’s life. I think sometimes I need books like this to remind me of all the strengths I have and the weaknesses I need to work on (without feeling condescending.)
I am definitely at a stage in my life where I feel a little confused about what’s next so reading this was a nice way to accept the confusion and sit with it for now. I feel like the overall concepts were easy to understand and I could see myself gifting this book to people that I think could benefit from it.
(There was one JK Rowling mention that bothered me. So this is just a warning that it is in there.)

May 14, 2025This book was exactly what I needed at this exact moment, it is part memoir/part self-help. It is kind of like a guide of life. I love that it is like one giant big pep talk. I especially loved the bullet points at the end of the chapters. It is uplifting and inspiring for me to love myself and the path l'm on, even if I'm confused!

I’m about to out myself and confess that I’ve never read a self-help book before. (Insane, I know.) So I actually had no idea what to expect when going into this book.
As someone who often feels like a confused girl. It was really comforting to read a book that truly reminds you that you’re not alone. Going through life and feeling stuck or unworthy is something that every woman deals with. This book is filled with encouragement, love and compassion towards women who are learning to navigate an ever changing world.

I read this book this past month with my book club, and I really appreciated the emotions in it and the courage it took for the author to share her struggles and mental health issues. These are topics that usually aren’t easy to talk about or share with strangers, yet she does so to remind readers that they aren’t the only ones feeling confused in this world

I really enjoyed Giovanna’s writing style and appreciated the way in which Confused Girl felt approachable as well as wise in the advice and affirmation it gave. It reads more like a memoir than self-help, and I think it’s a perfect book for women in their 20’s!!

"Confused Girl" is one of those books that really hits home and shifts your entire mindset in the best way possible. I found its approach to letting go of shame and guilt to be so refreshing. It encourages you to tap into your intuition and creativity, guiding you on a path to discovering who you really are and what you want from life. I absolutely love how Giovanna uses confusion as a tool to help us figure ourselves out. It felt so relatable! Honestly, it’s been an amazing read, and I think it might just be my favorite book of 2025! I can't recommend it enough!

And I feel like we are forever evolving as human beings. We go through stages in life and this book is almost comforting in knowing we aren’t alone in it.

As a 56-year-old woman, I can honestly say that this is one of the most refreshing books I’ve ever read. Being able to admit that we’re confused—and recognizing that it’s okay—is something we never would have done in the past. But it is okay, and it connects us in a way that is deeply human. Because honestly, aren’t we all a little confused?
But Giovanna doesn’t leave us there. She lovingly swoops in and guides us through the confusion with grace and insight.
