The Crimson Queen: Children of the Oak Trilogy Part One

Rate this book
The streets of the sea port city of Pysgod are littered with orphaned children. Children who are forced to make do with what they have. Fighting and stealing are all they know, while death lurks like a shadow around every corner.

This is the only life Fleas, named by the streets she grew up on, had ever known. That is until she met a man she grew to call Uncle Murr. Murr lifted her from her perdition and taught her how to be more than just an animal fighting to survive. He showed her what it meant to be part of a family.

However, one fate-filled day Uncle Murr was arrested by the Kingsguard, setting off a chain of events that would forever alter the course of Fleas’ life.

The path to rescue her uncle was also the path that would lead her to herself. Wrought with pirates, bards, creatures straight from Celtic folklore, and even a little bit of magick, be sure to catch the next ship out.

A very good adventure book with intriguing characters and cool setting. Gives off pirates of the Caribbean mixed with Lord of the Rings vibes, so if you enjoyed either of those you will enjoy this book. Easy to pick up and not put down until you get to the end. Language is not confusing ie. Lord of the Rings and you should understand what’s going on the whole time due to the authors writing style. Excited to see what comes next for Fleas and her crew!
