Contemporary LGBTQ+ Sports Romance Book One of the Minneapolis State University Series

He was the rival who wrecked his high school legacy. Now he’s the man he can’t stop wanting.

Gus Murphy once dreamed of Stanford and soccer glory, but a brutal ACL injury his senior year ended all of that. Now, as a freshman at Minneapolis State University studying architecture, Gus just wants a fresh start—away from the ghosts of North Oaks Prep and the boy who ruined Patrick Ford.

Patrick, now a sophomore and star striker for the MSU Millers, has never forgotten Gus—the slide tackle, the fight, the electric tension. He thought he had everything figured out… until one stolen glance on the MSU Commons cracks his carefully constructed world.

Gus wants to forget. Patrick wants another chance. But when heated rivalry turns into undeniable attraction, their game of avoidance explodes into something neither expected.

Enemies. Ex-teammates. Unexpected lovers. Can two boys with a past learn to trust their hearts on and off the field?

Slide Tackle is a slow-burn, angst-laced college romance full of longing, unresolved tension, and the kind of chemistry that won’t quit.

Emotional, Intense, and Beautifully Written
This book pulled me in right from the start. Gus and Patrick’s tension was electric, equal parts heartbreaking and irresistible. The way their past rivalry melted into something deeper felt so raw and real. I laughed, I teared up, and I rooted for them every step of the way.
