A Distant Boom returns with the reader back to the world where the spiritual battles have become physical and the saga continues to entertain and become more complex as the young Light warriors continue to fight the Darkness.
Adrian Essigmann continues to show his abilities to write a novel that is both enjoyable to read on a plain level, but is filled with many deeper hidden truths and lessons for those who take the time. He shows that there can be Christian fiction can be exciting, and that Christians can write things that aren't romance or end-times related.
A Distant Boom is just as an enjoyable to read as the other books in the series and continues to engage the readers with their continuing adventures. One of the most enjoyable aspects of the work has been the growth of the team throughout the series and this continues on this book. Moreover, it doesn't just show one character growing, but the author shows other members of the world growing and this helps to make these characters both memorable and more true to live.
The author has packed in his book more symbolism and continues to add in new and different kinds of symbolism to both help flesh out the lore of this world, but to also continue to teach Christians truths. This aspect of the work can appeal to both newer and older believer and teaching each a lesson. It also does a good job of having each of us look at how we view others in the Church and our reactions to this both positive and negative that we might not otherwise think about.
This really is a work that I would recommend for someone who wants to read something from a Godly perspective and is something that is not the same old same old. It doesn't cost terribly much, an average novel in Wal-Mart would cost around the same price and although it isn't in paper back like the others it is the same good old story and if you've got a tablet, smartphone, or computer you can enjoy just the same.
