Hidden City Supernatural Sleuth #2

The Wolf Vs The Warlock

Rate this book
Nothing ruins your day more than a bloated, stinking corpse on your doorstep.

My natural optimism has taken a serious beating lately. I’ve been working my butt off, drafting a series of outreach programs to help the poor, lost supe kids of the Hidden City before they fall through the cracks in our society and end up in our Otherworld Child Protective system. There’s one thing I desperately need, and that’s funding.

But there’s no money to be had. Nobody wants to invest in these kids; it’s enough to break your heart. The rejection letters are ruining my morning, and that’s before I slipped on the bloated corpse at the bottom of my step.

Things take a turn when I’m summoned to the Jupiter mansion to have tea with Mina, the matriarch of the Jupiter coven — my ex-boyfriend's mom. She’s offering me exactly what I need.

She's got a job for me. One that I'm not sure if I want to do anymore.

The Wolf Vs The Warlock is book two in the Hidden City Supernatural Sleuth, a hot new Urban Fantasy series by bestselling author Lauretta Hignett.

Before I start my review, I have one big complaint! The next book isn’t out until January, I don’t want to wait that long.
This was a fabulous book; Daphne is trying to have a good day but things aren’t working out for her. A request for funding for an outreach centre has been rejected. She starts to leave for work and finds a body outside her door, unrecognizable with its limbs twisted into a bow. When she goes to work, she is sent into a meeting with Mina Jupiter who forces her to look for the missing Jupiter ring from Mina’s husband. Daphne has no choice but to do as asked – she has been threatened with both losing her job and the possibility of getting the funding she wants if she finds the ring.
Everything seems to point to Romeo but Daphne is refused entrance to his home, something isn’t adding up in her opinion but there are a lot of things to look at.
Things seem to get worse from there. More bodies show up, she’s still being followed by the soul stealing pigeon. Her optimism is having a hard time hanging on.
There is quite a bit of action, a mystery, Daryl is at his finest misbehaviour, the Countess is helpful but also a bit of a pain sometimes, secrets are being revealed by everyone. The interactions between all the characters is one of the things that make this a great book.
I just devoured this book and loved every word; it is one I would highly recommend at any time.

I just finished this second book in the series, and O.M.G. was it a wild ride! Poor Daphne is being forced to find something for Mina who thinks the Warlock is pure evil and wants to bring him down permanently. Daphne is torn about how she feels about him, and she thinks he needs brought down, too, but she can’t help but be…well, I was going to use a word I really can’t since it might be a spoiler. LOL! This was just so much darn fun, well-written, has such great characters (Myf, Cole, Countess, etc.) and captivating I couldn’t put it down. Oh, and I’ll never look at Swan Lake the same way ever again! LOL! This author is amazing, this series is amazing, and if you like this genre, you must read this series. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I first found myself reading a Lauretta Hignett book as I was on a Kindle achievement kick a year ago and needed to read a supernatural book in the fall of 2023.

More than a year later I’m rereading her books and have signed up for an ARC copy in exchange for my review.

Here we return to Daphne and her quest to kill the man how murdered her mentor, and trying to fight her other feelings towards him. Bodies are starting to pile up at her apartment, and she’s strong armed to find a missing ring that is supposed to prove the guilt of Romeo, the man she herself is hunting.

I’ll leave the rest of the story for you to read.

One of Lauretta’s best writing strengths is in her characters. Her protagonists are fun, wonderfully quirky, weird, and beautifully relatable. Even when they’re not fully human. Her minor characters can also steal the scenes they’re in, and a new favorite of mine is Doug the Ghoul. He’s full of graveyard humor, lives for his job, and I hope we will be seeing more of this man. I’m sure he’ll appreciate Myf’s Michelin star cooking.

My advice, but this review down and read the book.

Again good. And then decent. It is intriguing, involving and entertaining.

BUT.

The plot requires clarity. The characters require a bit more depth and emotion. The sub-plots need more emphasis. There should be less info-dump—there are lines that could be cut.

I see much potential in this and just can't let go of how gripping the series could be.

However, it is still a good read.

After the jaw dropping conclusion of the first book I've literally been vibrating with anticipation for the continuation of Daphne's story and BOY OH BOY I wasn't disappointed. Again I inhaled this book in one sitting as I simply couldn't put it down. It has everything I've come to love about Lauretta's books, action, humor, crazy characters and a murder goose.
Seriously who can resist a murder goose 🪿

Today was supposed to be a good day...

Things are not going well for Daphne, who's dream of helping others is rapidly turning to ashes. It doesn't matter how hard she works, she just can't seem to get the funding needed for the outreach programme for the supe kids of the Hidden City. To make matters worse she's been summoned by Alexei Minoff the shifter who's declared himself her Alpha, and it's a summons she has no intention of following. And that's all before she's even left her building for work and trips over the dead body on her doorstep.. Yeah Daphne's is definitely not having a good day.....

Every now and again a character that is so unique crosses your path that everything inside you cannot help but fall in love with them. Daphne is that character for me. She is flawed, outwardly tough but emotionally fragile and so totally relatable. I love how she still defers to Heart Daphne and Brain Daphne who are constantly at war with each other in her mind. And I freaking adore it when Brain Daphne gets let loose coz that means a can of whup ass is coming your way. Yep my girl is awesomely fantastic just make sure you never underestimate her.

Romeo Zarayan bad boy warlock is like some decadent rich chocolate and just as sinful. You know it's not good for you but you want it anyway. Which is exactly why I think he's the perfect match for Daphne both think they are monsters and both are anything but. And just when I think I've figured him out he surprises me again. I am totally smitten.

Mina Jupiter rich, snobby and entitled witch who thinks that blackmailing Daphne makes her all powerful. All I wanted to do whenever she appeared was to slap her into next week.

And Dwayne my magnificent murder goose is in tip top form as always but I certainly wasn't prepared for how he wanted to kill some time. It doesn't include sculptures but a bone is definitely involved and let's just say I'll never be able to listen to Tchaikovsky again 🤣

I can't tell you guys just how much I loved this book because one again Lauretta has created a story that has sucked me in and won't let me go.
I'm already on a countdown to the next one and so my anxious wait begins.. Highly recommend 😁

More thrills! More spills! More Dwayne!

If you liked book one, this one is a slam dunk — just get reading already.

If you haven’t read book one yet, you definitely don’t want to start here in the middle. Put this one on your TBR list and go get the first book read. Then come back.

What I liked most about this second book: Myf really comes into her own as a supporting character. And that girl is SASSY! She and the Countess trade insults a few times, and it was hilarious. To be honest, I feel like Myf and new character Doug the ghoul kind of steal the show in this one. Yes, the world as they know it could be ending. And yes, everyone is running around freaking out, but Myf keeps making yummy food and making Daphne the belle of the ball. Doug comes scuttling in like a “zombie monkey” and starts joking about the dead bodies he’s hired to clean up. At one point, Daphne has to remind him that she’s not a popular food delivery service, which made me bust out laughing at 2 am.

This is a hilarious whodunit with lots of twists and turns. Oh, and I haven’t mentioned Dwayne because he gets into wayyy more mischief than usual and I don’t want to spoil anything. Let’s just say he has a thing for dangerous women. And cigars. And maybe a great appreciation for ballet.

What a ride I am obsessed! A great read. The second in the series. Dwayne makes a great appearance as the mysterious murder goose/ God of Chaos . Daphne the female MC is a survivor. Who has seen the worst both on world and off and still chooses to do good, be kind and do her best. Heart Daphne constantly fights brain Daphne for control. I love this dynamic. Her complicated relationship with Roman the high priest is wonderfully painted and I both cheered and booed as it went through it's up and downs. This book centres around a dead Jupiter Scion and the deaths that ensue. A fast moving tale that kept me up late to finish it!
If you haven't entered Laurettas world, you got a lot to look forward to. Her world building is all encompassing and detailed. It all works and her deviations into different character arcs don't disappoint. Do yourself a favour and dip your toe in her waters.

The Wolf VS the Warlock (Hidden City Supernatural Sleuth book 2) by Lauretta Hignett is a 4 ⭐️ read.
Weird things are happening in the Hidden City with someone or something leaving dead bodies on Daphne’s doorstep. Her ex-boyfriend’s mother has tasked her with finding a missing family ring so she can prove wrongdoing. Daphne needs to figure out what’s going on and how to fix it before more supernaturals die.
I love everything written by this author and highly recommend all her books.

What's the perfect gift for someone who has practically nothing? A body with its limbs tied up like a bow, of course! Wait, no, that can't be it... but that's what Daphne gets. A lot. She's juggling a lot in general, and now she has to figure out who's doing this and why. She also needs to open the lines of communication with a certain handsome, ailing Warlock, but his gatekeepers aren't budging.

I loved watching Daphne handle all of these situations (and more, because there's always more!) and learning a bit more about her past. Oh, there's so much I could say about this book, but shh... spoilers!

Suffice it to say that I loved every minute of it and cannot WAIT until the next one!

Lauretta Hignett is a storyteller extraordinaire–like magic, she grabs you from the beginning and pulls you into the world that you don't want to leave. She expertly brings to life all her characters, with each and every one being unique, and together create a vibrant world.
Through the mystery Daphne is tasked to solve, and funky gifts she receives, we get to learn more about the world and the characters we fell in love with or love to hate. I highly recommend reading this series.

I hope for a very long series

I have fallen in love with the kooky main character with her trauma, her coping skills, her honesty, her sense of humor, and her passion for helping kids. I love that she throws everyone off balance. She has the best sidekicks ever too! I am so glad I started reading these books.

Oh my goodness I loved every second of this book, the storyline just keeps getting twistier and more intriguing, giving little hints and dropping crumbs that leave you wondering what secrets Daphne and the Romeo’s coven are hiding.
The chemistry between Romeo and Daphne is electric and as with all Lauretta’s books the side characters add so much fun to the story, Dwayne will forever be my favourite character ever and his obsession with the swan lake swans had me crying with laughter. I can absolutely recommend this series for almost anyone, there is a fair bit of bad language but no explicit scenes or trigger warnings. Definitely start with book one The Wolf vs The Vampire and enjoy!

Lauretta truly has a talent for wrapping up a storyline in a pretty lil bow by the end of the book, only to throw you the biggest hook for the following book.

Daphne has a lot on her plate including dead bodies on her step that have been literally tied like a bow. She’s under a time crunch to find a lost ring or lose her job. There might be a demon on the loose. She can’t get in to see Romeo and, of course, Dwayne, her goose alpha, is behaving even more outrageously than normal.

So entertaining, funny but there’s lots of depth, action and feels too. Just brilliant.

Another absolute winner! One of my favourite UF series ever!

Daphne (and Dwayne’s) second book is every bit as awesome as the first, and left me desperately wishing I could have more immediately. The story, the characters, the writing flow are excellent, and the hangover is extreme. Brilliant action, mystery, romance and humour - so many laughs between biting my nails 😎. The epilogue has left me anxious and eagerly waiting for book 3!

My excitement to start this book could barely be contained! Daphne is like a contagious virus, creeping in and taking over of any rational thoughts. This author, OMG, THIS author has sunk her beak into me and I don't even want to pull away!(or it could be Dwayne...) Lauretta's writing is so effortlessly yet so powerful, amusing, heartfelt, I devour every book like it's my lifeline. So many fabulous quotes that ring so true are peppered throughout, like this one, "Bad days are like quicksand, if you didn't do something to stop the sink immediately, you'd plunge deeper and deeper ". But here's the thing, I WANT to plunge deeper and deeper into her books, I WANT to sink into it, and I do, every time. She combines action with the heartfelt, the fun with the hilarious, the mystery with the drama, well geez, with a mere stroke of her pen, she DELIVERS! She delivers a story that I can't put down, a story that has me laughing, despairing, cringing and every "ing" out there in a matter of a few chapters, carrying through to the end. Spectacular? Oh heck, undeniablely!

We begin with Daphne determined to have a good day, but said day had very different ideas! It just got progressively worse, from reading a rejection letter, to a demand to attend the alpha, who's a scumbll btw, to a dead person on her doorstep! Yep, DEFINITELY not a good day! And what's even worse, she now has to confront her arch nemesis, the deliciously gorgeous Romeo, High Priest of the witches. Yeah, bad day to worse....I really adore who Daphne is, what she stands for and how resilient she is. Heck, she's been to hell and back and come out the other side changed. I love how Daphne compartmentalises herself, like she's 2 different entities living in the same body, which, to some degree, is correct, she's argues internally with each constantly, the dark with the light. She has a vicious streak that could Dwayne a run for his money! She sure has come a long way from...ummm... retaliation, she's a social worker, one with a conscience. She's not only going through the motions, her conscience has kids wellbeing at heart. Trying to keep under the radar hasn't worked out quite so well, she's now in the cross hairs of an alpha, Alexei, who's just grrr! But who really takes the cake, besides the selfish, self-centred Troy, is his mother, Mina. Oh heck, what a b-tch!!!! What I'D like to do to her I dare not write...

What transpires is frankly amazing in the true sense of the word. A summoning of a demon gone wrong, "gifts" being left for Daphne at her front door, everything Daphne worked so hard to achieve, threatened to crash down on her and what's more, Romeo is sinking into Daphne's very being. To kiss him or to kill him is still foremost on her mind. Oh my what a plot! Oh my how tense! Those last few chapters I barely caught my breath, I was knocked off my feet by WHO the culprit was, WHY this had happened and good glory, when Romeo finally came clean, well I never! This author spellbound me, this author had me on the verge of a panic attack, this author kept me riveted throughout. This author achieved a superlative tale of magnanimous proportions of unstinting action, drama, mystery and greed.

Oh gosh does Lauretta do characters justice! One of the most "different" characters I've had the pleasure to encount, is Dwayne. Besides him being a goose , yes, a "honk honk" goose who's totally hilarious, he'd rather do "fight over flight", he's rather....bloodthirsty. This summarises Dwayne perfectly, "he doesn't pick his battles, he just crashed into them whenever the mood struck him" Just don't expect that's all to Dwayne, oh no, there's a WHOLE LOT MORE! He's a whole lot more! And Myf, do I love Myf! The frightened, "guest" living in Daphne's pantry. Don't ask...READ the book to see why! In fact, READ THIS BOOK AND SERIES full stop!

outstanding in every way

Rating: 4.75⭐️

The Hidden City Supernatural Sleuth is a series that just gets better with each increasingly strange and complicated story that Hignett lays out for her characters, especially the severely damaged, deeply traumatized wolf shifter Daphne.

Living in a building in the middle of the slimiest of the slums of The Hidden City of Philadelphia, along with Chaos Goose, a female of unknown species living called Myf in the cupboard, and the deadliest sorceress of all times , Countess Ebadorathea Greenwood, her grandmother figure, living next door, Daphne’s life is full of stress , confusion, and despair. Especially as she’s a new social worker for the paranormal children of the city with little support and resources.

Then dead bodies start to appear on her doorstep, delivered in a very strange and deliberate manner.

If I wasn’t already in love with this author, The Wolf Vs The Warlock would have cinched the deal. With a female character who’s constantly struggling with her trauma, trying to desperately make her job to reach/save the lost PNR children of The Hidden city, and fighting the supernatural battles that seem to follow her, it’s a great series and story.

Daphne’s a personality so consistently inconsistent, still deeply undefined, that we have no idea where her overall storyline is headed or exactly what actions she’s going to take in any given situation. Will she talk the being/person about changing their lives, go for the throat, or something shockingly wild, sort of whack a doodle. No clue. And it will be totally fine, with whatever is happening, astonishingly so.

This narrative approach works well so as others learn from her actions and comments, things that will inevitably leave hints to her past and present status, we learn as well.

The murder mysteries are key and lead to another interaction with Romeo, Warlock of the City and his coven.

The coven members are fascinating, Romeo’s connection to Daphne deepens, and the plotting is better than ever. It’s complicated, full of beautifully crafted characters, vividly imagined scenes, and detailed locations and great dialogue.

Don’t miss out on the hilarious cast of characters that is given at the beginning of each story. Dry and funny.

Dave the ghoul is a new favorite. But the Countess is top tier.

“Who would leave a corpse on my doorstep as a gift?”
The countess shrugged, an elegant hitch of her shoulders. “Have you expressed a desire for rotting flesh to anyone lately?”

— The Wolf Vs The Warlock: The Hidden City Supernatural Sleuth by Lauretta Hignett

I adore the Countess, she just gets ever more impressive and dangerous, of course.

This story is excellent is every way. Characters, plot, dialogue and moving forward an already amazing labyrinthine series arc. I highly recommend this series and book.

Onto the next novel in the series.

The Wolf vs. The Warlock

Hi, my name is Brooke, and I think I might be an addict....I’m going to need to set up an appointment with our resident gothflower pixie counsellor because I’ve just devoured Lauretta Hignett’s second installment in the Hidden City Supernatural Sleuth series in a matter of hours, and I’m already jonesing for book three, The Wolf vs. the Shifter.

Oh Daphne, baby girl, you just can’t catch a break, can you? , our favourite stabby wolf with a big heart wants to create a drop-in centre as a safe space for the hidden valley supe kids, but instead she gets stinky dead bodies, her jerk ex boyfriend’s elitist witch mother to deal with, that shifty pigeon soul-stealing dude still spying on her for the local pack scumbag alpha and Judy, well, just being Judy. Plus a smoking hot , murderous, possibly dying, smoking hot, High Priest Warlock invading her thoughts and confusing the hell out of her. The Myth, the  Man/Goose, the Legend that is Dwayne, is dealing out his brand of justice as only he can, when he’s not hitting on the ladies, that is. The Countess is being her fabulous self, and Myf is still cooking up a storm (I want to try her food so badly).

That epilogue, oh my goodness. It’s going to be a nervous wait to find out what’s ahead for our girl and the gang, but you can bet that I’m excited to find out!

This author has me on the hook and has reeled me in with her ability to create intriguing characters that are not only bad ass but have depth and substance to them. Her plots are fast-paced, action-packed, and filled with mystery. You are seriously missing out if you haven’t discovered Lauretta Hignett’s books yet.

Another absolutely amazing book from Lauretta! Daphne has been working to get a drip in center for the at risk kids of the Hidden City. But after she is denied by the apartment board, she’s starting to lose faith in herself. And if that wasn’t bad enough, she steps right into a dead body on her way out of her door. And they just keep piling up after that. She’s also been bullied into trying to find the missing Jupiter family ring from her murdered son. If she doesn’t do that in 3 days, Mina Jupiter will have her fired from her job.
Daphne… where do I even start! She’s always been a bit unhinged (after traveling different realms and being held by evil creatures, how can she not be) but now she is actually talking to herself, which is hilarious at times. Brain Daphne is my favorite! But she is determined to find out who is leaving her these gift wrapped bodies. And if she gets to clear Romeo’s name while she does it, well that’s a bonus. And Romeo, he is the perfect other half for Daphne. As conflicted as they are about each other, they just can’t seem to stay away from each other. And the lengths she will go to to get inside his lair, I mean church, are crazy!
And omg Dwayne! There is never a dull moment with that murderous goose around. So many snort out loud moments from Dwayne while reading this book! Swan Lake will never sound the same again 😂.
I still love Myf and her attitude. Especially when her and the Countess get into it. I’m still trying to figure out what is going on with Myf and what happened to make her hide in the pantry. And surprisingly I love Doug the ghoul.
There were twists and surprises throughout the whole book. There are lots of distractions to keep you guessing what the heck is going on. And we finally get some answers about Aunt Marche! It sheds a whole new light on Romeo. There was so much packed into this book I could hardly put it down and now I am left pining for the next book! Bravo Lauretta!

Daphne has made a special place for herself in my heart. She is stronger than she knows, determined, passionate, caring, wise and generally wonderful. A young woman with a huge heart and stabby blades, who is so often seen as so much less than she actually is. You just can’t help but love Daphne. And then there is Dwayne…well there are no words for Dwayne, but to know him, is to adore him, and all his mysterious and somewhat murderous ways, and his own brand of justice.

Daphne is still confused by Romeo, the High Priest Warlock, who she knows she should hate, is pretty sure she does hate and yet…does she? Daphne is still trying to figure out what is really going on with Romeo when someone starts leaving her ‘gifts’ that she’d really rather not receive. She is given a task that she doesn’t want, but feels she has no choice but to accept. Things just don’t add up and every time Daphne feels like she is getting closer to figuring it all out, events take another twist. All the while she is questioning her reactions to, and relationship with, Romeo.

This is the second book in the series, but I really hope that there are many more books to come. Daphne has hidden depths, secrets and stories to come and I can’t wait for more.

This book is even better than the first one! Super entertaining from start to finish, and I couldn’t put it down.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Daphne and her growing band of lovable / kinda murderous found family are back again with another adventure. This time she’s voluntold / blackmailed to do some shit by a mean witch, she has a secret admirer leaving her freaky gifts, and once again some people are dicks to her for no reason.

But does our girl let it stop her? Hell no. She does what she always does and figures shit out. In the best of ways. And Dwayne is perfect as always with his chaotic charm.

My favorite secondary character in this one is Myf. She’s fun and intriguing and I gotta know more about her. The Countess is a close second, and I love them together.

Plot is solid, writing and pacing are 💯 I haven’t been disappointed with a Lauretta Hignett book yet.

If you like urban fantasy with a lovably unhinged MC and a fun cast of characters, you’ll love this series! And the other ones that are in the same world - start with Immortal if you’re new here.

✔️ Action-packed
✔️ Easy to read
✔️ Entertaining
✔️ Hilarious
✔️ Great world building
✔️ Original
✔️ Page-turner
✔️ Wonderful characters

The Wolf vs The Warlock is honestly one of the best reads I've had in ages. The characters are delightfully flawed, yet so loveable that my heart was squished into teeny, tiny pieces.

The plot is twisty and thrilling, as Daphne hunts for a serial-killing demon while desperately trying to keep her job as a supernatural children's social worker from being taken away by her spineless ex's blackmailing witch of a mother.

The peril is frequently leavened by the, frankly, jawdropping exploits of Dwayne the murder goose (not sure I can watch ballet ever again) and the cocktail-swilling, telenovela-loving Countess, who can save a person's life whilst simultaneously calculating their meat-to-bone ratio. And hilarious people-hating Myf, who performs miracles from her home in the pantry.

And Romeo... darkly brooding, tortured soul that he is, I wish he was real so I could snuggle him right up and make him feel all better again. There is one new character in particular who is so completely bonkers that she's going to be my new girl crush.

How can I wait for the next book? HOW? It's just cruelty. I need it so bad I might die.

Daphne is back in the Wolf Vs the Warlock & shes bound and determined to have a Good Day! Though it starts with a rejection letter, then a most unwelcome gift, tied up in a gruesome bow, she tells herself 'Bad days are like quicksand, if you didn't do something to stop the sink immediately, you'd plunge deeper and deeper until it was impossible to drag yourself out'. She can shake it/dance it/gland hand off the bad & make it good again! Dwayne the Goose Lord is back and hes just as ornery and wicked, yet deep down he is as sweet as Daphne is. They have a new roommate, Myf, who lives in the pantry. Myf loves to cook but doesn't like people much (I can sympathize) & spends most of her time whipping up delicious meals. The food descriptions had me drooling! The awful Jupiter family cause most of Daphne's sinking feelings, as well as shifters, vampires, & even pigeons. Her lust/hate thoughts for the gorgeous Warlock, Romeo Zarayan the Lord of Shadows are constant. The hits keep coming but Daphne is not just a dumb sweet girl! With her purple hair, Kawasaki, found friends, and dare I say family, she can take on the world. I just love this Urban Fantasy author!!

This is the second instalment in the new series with Daphne.
I love Daphne and all of her quirks 😏
In this book someone keeps leaving gifts for Daphne on her doorstep, and let's just say that they are definitely unwanted.
She also gets a visit from her ex-boyfriends mother with a job offer, oh my 😳
Dwayne is still his fabulous self, doing what he does best, which is basically being him 🥰
Daphne also gets answers to some of the questions she has wanted for a while. But he question is, is she ready for them?
I am a little obsessed with Lauretta and her books 📚 they always have a way of making me smile and they always make my day when I read them.
So when I've had a horrible day at work, I know that when I get home all I need to do is pick up a Lauretta book and it will make the day seem a lot better.
I'd definitely recommend this book/series if you enjoy a good paranormal book with lots of twists with laughs along the way ❤️❤️

I adore Daphne. At heart she is a sweet, loving girl that wants to make the world a better place, but she has a dark twisted broken side that she keeps under tight rein.
It's so much fun when she let's it loose!
Of course, it's hard to stay focused when your emotional support animal is a chaos goose.

I'll read all of these. Daphne can stab everyone as far as I'm concerned, she is such a great character!
Her 'relationship' with the warlock comes to a head in this one and you finally find out what really happened with Aunt Marche! Wow, this was a great read, just grab it, hold on and enjoy the ride!

You will not regret it! I highly recommend this series and everything Lauretta Hignett writes!
