Princess Sapphia is decidedly not into princes, or any boys for that matter. So when her parents begin to push her to marriage, she quickly enlists her equally gay best friend to organize a sham marriage, navigate life and love, and hopefully get the girl, in High-Class Homos.
Princess Sapphia of Mytilene and Prince August of Phthia have been best friends for years. They’re both royalty in their own right, they both love getting to know the castle staff and knights, and they’re both completely and utterly gay. When Princess Sapphia’s parents begin hinting that she needs to get married, she and August begin to put together a plan: Marry each other, continue pursuing their own romances. Simple!
Will Sapphia and August be able to pull off a successful engagement and eventual marriage? More importantly, will Sapphia ever land a date with the castle maids? Will August get the nerve to confess to the knight he's been pining after? Follow these high class homos as they navigate life, love, and (occasionally) their actual jobs.

⋮ ⌗ ┆(very) mini review This was such a cute, fun read! In this graphic novel, Princess Sapphia and Prince August are two best friends who happen to both be gay. When their parents pressure them into marriage, Sapphia proposes that she and August get married, so they can pursue love and romance without pressure from their parents. For Sapphia, this means she can shamelessly flirt with the castle maids, and August can try to confess his feelings to the (very oblivious) commander, knight Pericval. I liked the charactesr a lot, especially Sapphia. Her language was quite similar to current day teens, so I could connect to her the way I would connect to one of my own friends. What can I say? I was hooked the moment the first scene in the GN was Sapphia kicking down a door and screaming "This is bullshit." Watching the flirting in this book was so sweet and wholesome, and I loved the art style! It was really cute and wonderful, and I think it suited the characters really well.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC!
⌞❤︎⌝ 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙‧₊ᵎᵎ What can I say? I saw the webtoon icon, and immediately pressed the request button for the arc. Is the publish date tomorrow? Yes. Am I cutting it a bit close? Also yes. Oh well, the things I do for a good webtoon.
High-Class Homos had me at Sapphia's literal first panel being kicking down a door and yelling “This is bulls**t!” Princess Sapphia and Prince August are both gay and interested in a maid and a knight, and they decide to get married to each other to appease their parents.
This was simply a pleasant read. It includes an incredible cast of characters, beautiful artwork, and funny dialogue. The charm comes from the subtle details, such as creative ways to get rid of a surplus of radishes, innuendos, getting teacher-zoned, normalized inclusivity, and references to Sappho's history.
I just feel lighter after reading it, but I am intrigued to know what happens next.
Thank you to NetGalley, Momozerii, and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the advanced copy. This review is left voluntarily and honestly.
This was adorable, hilarious, and so very gay - I loved every minute of it and already can't wait for the next volume - the characters were so relatable and the art was beautiful
Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC 💖
Before being forced to marry someone they could never truly like, Princess Sapphia and Prince August devise a secret plan to secure both their happiness and the prosperity of their kingdoms.
This volume was such a refreshing read! August and Sapphia decide to marry each other in order to pursue their own paths to happiness, not an easy task when you’re royalty. Sapphia is such a troublemaker: full of energy, yet also gentle and caring. I’m really looking forward to seeing how her love story develops! I’m not sure how I feel about Marla yet but Odette totally stole my heart. She’s reliable and dutiful but she also has her moments. August and Percival make such a nice couple. I can’t wait for them to confess their love! Percival is absolutely adorable, and I really loved how he was portrayed, who doesn’t love a slightly dense characters? His interactions with August had me giggling more than once!
This isn’t your ordinary fantasy romance story and that’s exactly what makes it so fun and enjoyable. The art is pretty too, it’s impossible not to fall for these characters. This was my first time reading a story like this, and I’ll definitely be picking up volume 2!
This is a very sweet and funnily written story about a prince and a princess who both happen to be homosexuals. They find the ideal solution to be able to pursue their actual crushes, who happend to work for them. This would be a very simplified description of the story without giving out too much information. From this premise alone, I think it's a very adorable and fun story!
What lost points, in my point of view, is the slightly overly childish moments, which I thought would be fine if it would have been targeted for kids more, but then there were also some innuendos so I got a bit put off. And the one last thing that threw me off is the fact that (yet again, in today's fiction) when comparing the mlm and wlw couples, somehow the wlw one will always have a doomed feeling to it, while the mlm is so sweet and naive. I am just not a fan of that at all.
However! The characters are all interesting, Lucas especially, and I totally adore the art style! I am surely looking forward to reading up what's happening next, might even look the story up on Webtoon!
(Thank you so much NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!)
Thank you to netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing an eCopy of this comic!
This was a fun read. I really liked all the characters, even though Sapphia could be a bit much at times. There isn't really a whole lot of plot outside of the romance (or romances) as of now. Mostly just a lot of people having crushes on one another and some "gay awakenings." We do get some setup for the party August needs to host and Sapphia's ex-best friend. So we'll see if even of those become major plot points or if they are just small conflicts. This comic is also pretty goofy. I enjoyed the humor, but I would recommend reading a sample first to make sure it works for you. I am a little confused about the audience for this comic. The story and characters makes me think it should skew younger, maybe middle grade or a young YA, but the characters could be quite crude at times. It wasn't super obscene or anything, just some swearing and innuendos. It was just a lot more than I was expecting. I thought this comic was cute and I will likely be checking on the next volume whenever it comes out. I recommend it if you are looking for a cute, fun, and low-stakes read!
The story: Two royals are old enough to be married off and find that they do not want to be married if it means marrying outside their preference. They come up with a plan to marry eachother since they are best friends and know they can be married and still have their own same sex partner on the side. Although it is the main plot, they do not get engaged in this book. Instead, they explore finding the partner they want to have before getting married because it would be harder finding a partner after. They have a good friend circle and they have an idea who they want to be with already. The friends arent entirely sure and two of them discover they also like the same sex. The Prince will find his partner and they both have feelings. The Princess does as well, but one of the friends that like her is jealous because the Princess doesnt know she likes her.
I am exploring all the reads right now and came across this one. I feel that it is a cute read for becoming who you are and understanding your feelings. The Royal characters already know how they are feeling and their preference, but on their quest to find a partner, they end up helping others see their own preference. I feel my teen daughter would adore this read because she is finding herself and these characters can be funny. I only knocked down a star because it has too much cursing. I curse a lot and as an adult that seems alright, but for younger readers, I feel it is excessive. My daughter would enjoy this read still because she is used to my cursing as normal conversation, but I feel there are other young readers that aren't. It felt like a book geared towards teens. The characters are sunny and full of their own personalities. The art is really adorable and I love that each character had a different colored chat bubble. There was no confusion in who said what.
There seems to be some background characters that are coming out and might make for some complications in the next volume. I look forward to finding out what happens between this circle of friends with the complications outside of the circle. #netgalley e-arc
Did you love Cursed Princess Club and ANY fairytale-esque story and think “this isn’t gay enough”? Well have I got the book for you!! High-Class Homos is a story of two royals of marrying age being pushed towards finding a suitable partner, but everyone their family chooses is of the opposite sex… and their taste goes more towards the same gender. Two queer royals who quickly become best friends, comrades at arms, and confidants.
Volume 1 brings us right into the story and towards the end of it, we get a little backstory to explain. We’ve already met both of the love interests and a couple of exes, as well. With so much happening so quickly, it made this a really fun and quick read, but I’m left wondering how you can continue multiple volumes with no build up.
We shall see!
Thank you to Webtoon Unscrolled, Wattpad Books and NetGalley for my gifted eARC.
so cute! thanks to netgalley and publisher for allowing me to read an arc copy!! i went in only knowing the base plot but it ended up being so much more. i was hooked from the beginning. the art style is the cutest… i love the use of color. the romances were cute to read. i’m also curious to see how the story will go as the ending left me hanging! this was really good and id recommend reading it when it comes out in november!

CW: Classism, Homophobia, Toxic Relationship
4.5 / 5 Stars
I’ve been following this story since its early days—back when it was posted on IG in lower resolution, then moved to Webtoon Canvas, then picked up as a Webtoon Original, and now, years later, it’s getting a hardcover. When I saw that announcement, I couldn’t help but smile.
High Class Homos—especially this first volume—leans more toward contemporary fantasy than high-stakes drama. This installment focuses mainly on the platonic bond between our two leads and the formation of their friend group, rather than on big plot elements. As a whole, the first season (and therefore this and the next volume too) is very character-driven. I doubt anyone expected an intense, drama-filled actien piece from a comic called High Class Homos, but I still think it’s worth pointing out so readers can appreciate the story for what it is.
Which is: a hella queer, wonderfully diverse, and heartwarming book with a feel-good core.
Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for something wholesome, funny and full of queer joy, High Class Homos will be right up your alley.
thank u to netgalley and andrews mcmeel publishing for the arc in exchange for an honest review <33
fake dating but make it gay ! princess sapphia (okayy sapphic) and prince august are queer best friends trying to get out of marriage. the obvious solution is that they get married !!
i absolute adore the entire cast of this. and i LOVE to see queer joy. a lot of queer fiction tends to be angsty and/or tragic and its so refreshing to see queer characters just be happy and have fun.
sapphia is headstrong and sassy and definitely gives diva but is also kind and willing to learn and empathize w those who dont have her privilege. august is truly a gentle soul just trying to do his best so that he can be a good king. i love a good himbo and percival is that to a t. hes the commander of the knights and yet he is probably the kindest person in the entire story. marla is kind and cares abt her friends but also willing to take what she wants which is such an important trait to see in female characters. odette is strong and a true leader but also soft and feminine. i love seeing the duality of her. soft female characters are so precious to me and i will always defend them. i adore lucas and his playful personality is a great contrast with percy. these characters are fleshed out and nuanced which can be hard to do in graphic novels but i feel that it has been done wonderfully in this. im so excited to learn more about the side characters we get glimpses of and see how they intertwine into the story and our main cast’s lives.
if ur looking for a low stakes, cozy graphic novel u should def try this book!
edit: i just realized that the kingdom august is from is where gay icon achilles is from and sapphia’s kingdom is based on the capital of lesbos. this is GENIUS !!

I remember following this story before the new version was published on Webtoon. It was a cute, simple story you could read a chapter of and delight in the character's antics. Upon reading this, I can attest that this quality is still at the core of the story. It's also way too rare to see a disabled protagonist in a story this cutesy and that's just amazing to see that representation here.
The art is also amazing - with bringht bubbly colour and readable character designs. The volume also includes some bonus illustrations, old development sketches, and a short bonus comic based on the original ideas for the characters. At places my eARC had inconsistent quality in the rendering of panels (perhaps due the reformating from a webcomic to print), but it's probably going yo be fixed for the official release.
My only criticism is that while it's a really cute story, it feels a bit too simplistic and perhaps a bit too overpopulated with characters from the get-go. Not so much that it makes it a bad experience, but I don't know how invested I'd be, if I wasn't familiar with the story and characters already.
It was a quick and easy read ! The drawing style is really simple but fit perfectly with te cuter side of the story. The storyline is not the best and honestly it wasn't necessarily engaging. The characters were okay, not that interesting. - Sapphia, our main character do not have a fully flesh out personality, she's as dull as possible. Her only personnalité trait is that she is a sheltered lesbian (?) she also got a prosthetic leg, which I thought was cute but we only see it at page 180 and I don't get it. I would have rather seen her talked a lot about her leg than her being gay. I don't know I tend not to like people that make their sexuality their personality. - August, Sapphia's best friend is a cute gay guy that is in love with a clueless commander. He is less annoying than Sapphia cause him being gay is not is entire life. He is shown to be more reserved and serious than his friend and I did like that he got actual things to do. As for the other characters they were fine, not a fan of Marla though she's giving me weird vibe but we'll see. The two potential threat remind me of anime or cartoon I've watched before and I feel like I guess what will happened to them
When I saw a graphic novel called High Class Homos, I immediately knew it was a must read and I had to pick it up. It’s campy, colorful and over the top.
Prince August and Princess Sapphia are gay best friends who long to go out with their crushes but know that, with their title and being heirs, they have a duty to get married. They come up with a plan to get married to each other, a lavender marriage, so they can continue to date their preferred gender.
I loved all of the characters, they were so quirky and adorable. Odette and Percival are by far my favorites because they’re so clueless about their true feelings and so kind and considerate to others.
Volume 1 is left on a cliffhanger so I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Thank you to Momozerii, Andrews Mcmeel Publishing and NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy.
I am happy to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this! It's for the girls, gays, and theys who love whimsy and bright colors. The concept of queer royals marrying each other as a cover for exploring their actual romantic desires in private isn't necessarily a new concept, but the characters themselves are super engaging and nuanced. I adored Percy and Odette, two characters coming to terms with their emerging feelings for their crushes with so much heart and humor. The art design is playful and the color palette is aesthetically pleasing. I did feel like this volume cut off rather abruptly, but I cannot wait for the next volume!
Thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the arc!
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrew McMeel Publishing for allowing me to read this one early!
I really enjoyed this first volume of High-Class Homos! It is very fun, funny and lighthearted with also enough mystery to stay interesting! I’m obsessed with the whole cast of characters and am excited to continue with the story! It gives me similar vibes to Cursed Princess Club, which is high praise since that is one of my favorite series of all time.
Because of the title, I was half-expecting this to have a Boyfriends. Volume One-level cringiness to it. Luckily, I was wrong, and this is a very cute double-romance with a love triangle and loveable characters. The art is bright, and the dialogue is light and funny. I'll absolutely continue this light and fluffy romance.
Thank you NetGalley for the free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The character design and art style of this book was really cute and I love a book with LGBTQ+ representation, but this one fell flat for me. I found the relationships progressed too quickly to be meaningful, although I don’t think the book was meant to be more than a silly story about two gay royals. I just felt it was lacking some depth nonetheless.

I love a book with so much representation! I'd been meaning to read this as a Webtoon for ages, so when I saw it was getting a physical edition I jumped on it.
A great set-up with two royal besties, a lesbian (Sapphia) and a gay guy (August), forming a marriage pact to hide their sexual identities from their respective families. Sapphia, August, their friends, and their potential suitors get up to a variety of fun and hijinks in this volume. There were some interesting story reveals and some cool characters teased that will surely show up in future installments.
My only complaints were that I felt certain plot points moved a bit fast, like Percival learning to read, and that Sapphia was a little grating at times, like when she was interfering with people's jobs. I also felt that the characters weren't doing the best at sneaking around, given that they said they needed to hide their sexualities.
Overall, a cute fun read that I'd recommend checking out!
I was not expecting to absolutely love this book. Instant 5 starts and will be added to my library to reread. Also I need the next book asap! The romance was fun and the friendships even better. However that ending has me like what the heck is going to happen. There is LGBTQ+ rep and disability rep. I have no other words but that it was really good and I cannot wait to read more. I also need to figure out if it’s available to be bought yet!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!
High-Class Homos is a charming, funny, and heartwarming story that had me smiling from start to finish. With vibrant, beautifully drawn artwork and a cast of lovable characters, this delivers both laughs and cute moments.
Princess Sapphia and Prince August completely stole my heart. Their friendship is warm, supportive, and entertaining. Two royals who understand each other deeply and are just trying to navigate their queerness in a world that doesn’t always make it easy.
I also adored the supporting characters, each adding their own personality to the story. One of my favorite aspects was how both Sapphia and August slowly find people who see and accept them for who they are.
This volume felt like a fun and lighthearted introduction to the cast, laying the groundwork for deeper plotlines to come.
I loved the humor and the sweet "gay chaos" throughout, and the ending left me excited for Volume 2!
If you’re looking for a colorful, queer, and joyful story full of lovable characters and soft moments, this one is a must-read. I can’t wait to continue the series!
I received an advanced copy of High Class Homos in exchange for an honest review.
Two royals, one a lesbian and one a gay man, plotting a lavender marriage while figuring out love on the side. The art is delightfully adorable. The story is basic but fun so far. It has the potential to get complex later down the line and I'd be interested to see where it lands.
First, I absolutely adored the illustration style, it suited the story perfectly! It gave me Sailor Moon vibes! This hilarious, lighthearted and beautiful story of friendship, love, self discovery while also addressing discrimination and overcoming oppressive systems. There are some truly heartwarming moments between characters supporting their friends when struggling to understand themselves. I really look forward to reading the next one!
Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the advanced copy.
Really short and sweet graphic novel about a prince and a princess that find the best and most convenient way to be queer and have love lives while maintaining their status: get fake-married, cover each other's backs, and live their happily ever afters.
I really enjoyed it, from the cutesy yet funny drawing style to the way we explore each character's personality and past in such a short first installment. At the end of it, I had the impression I'd been properly introduced to the main cast of characters. Can't wait to read the next volume!
Thanks to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
So funny! I remember reading the first couple of chapters on WEBTOON when it was first released, I’m so glad to revisit these characters 💛 This first book has so much potential! A lot of the plot lines are predictable but in a fun way - you’re having fun while you wait for certain things to happen. There’s a lot more to these characters than this first volume shows and I can’t wait to read more. The sense of humor is great and the art style is adorable!
Thank you netgalley for this graphic novel.. I will say it was a little hard for me to get into and i did enjoy some of the storylines but it was a bit of a miss for me i thought it was going to be a little different however i did enjoy the royal elements to it as well and we got to see alot of romance storylines between the characters and i will say i think i will enjoy volume 2 alot more because i want to see more of the character it ended on a cliff hanger with. The artwork was cute. This novel had a good batch of characters that i think people will enjoy
