LOTS of Poe, Lovecraft, and Arthur Conan Doyle (“The Case of Lady Sannox” - on my god!!!)! Add some Robert Louis Stevenson, Ambrose Bierce, Bram Stoker, Dickens, and Kafka. And mix in “The Monkey’s Paw” and you do indeed have “Classic Tales of Horror”! They ain’t lying! 55 stories!

But not all of them are good reads. Some disappoint. So, I am only giving it three stars as a collection, though there are quite a number of five-star stories in here! So look for those diamonds in the rough and have a good time with this collection!

“The best match in the world will not light a candle unless the wick be first suitably prepared.”

“There’s something here that never happens,” were the thoughts that rose in my mind, “and that’s why none of us can speak of it.” - A. Blackwood

In pace requiescat!
