Naruto was a young shinobi with an incorrigible knack for mischief. He achieved his dream to become the greatest ninja in his village, and now his face sits atop the Hokage monument. But this is not his story… The next generation of ninja stands in the swirling vortex of a new ninja age, with Naruto’s own son, Boruto, at the center!

It’s been three years since the event that caused Boruto and Kawaki to switch places in the ninja world. As Boruto trains with Sasuke, the Ten-Tails undergoes a terrifying transformation into Divine Tree beings that each have their own consciousness. These new threats against the world must be stopped, but Boruto will first need to survive the ninja of his own village who now see him as the enemy.

Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史 Kishimoto Masashi) is a Japanese manga artist, well known for creating the manga series Naruto. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Two of his former assistants, Osamu Kajisa (Tattoo Hearts) and Yuuichi Itakura (Hand's), have also gone on to moderate success following their work on Naruto.

Kishimoto's first work as a manga artist was Karakuri (カラクリ?), which he submitted to Shueisha in 1995. This earned him the Weekly Shōnen Jump's monthly "Hop Step Award" in 1996, granted to promising new manga artists. This was followed in 1997 by a pilot version of Naruto (NARUTO-ナルト-), published in Akamaru Jump Summer. In 1998, Kishimoto premiered as a Weekly Shōnen Jump artist with a serialized version of Karakuri in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but it proved unpopular and was canceled soon after. In 1999, a serialized version of Naruto began publication in Weekly Shōnen Jump and quickly became a hit.

Fine, so far. Not much in the way of movement, but the battle between Mitsuki and Boruto was neat, and the fact that the memory magic's already beginning to get noticed gives me hope. I still just think that there's not enough actual content in these volumes given how long passes between their releases.

I MIEI PATATI BELLISSIMI❤️

Boruto continues to be the Young Lord that he is. But Kawaki needs to put his sht together. At this point, it's just embarrassing to be in his shoes after all those big talks about k wording Boruto.

SO ASS. I can't even begin to describe how much I loathe what this manga has become. Once I'm finally caught up with all the chapters released I'm gonna stop with them and not come back to it again.

I... I really hate Sarada's outfit. She looks like a stripper, not a ninja.

But the growing threat is very interesting, because we're watching the evolution of a chakra beast in real time. What was once a kaiju sized physical manifestation of chakra with one goal: eat more. Then Code uses his powers to shave bits off to make an army of human sized chakra beasts and they... "eat" more chakra and turn into tiny versions of the divine tree. Then the divine tree can create chakra clones of the people who get "eaten".

Meanwhile, Boruto is struggling to fill the village in on what's going on without getting caught by any and everyone who wants him dead. But, thankfully, there are a few smart people (Shikamaru, thank god) who are starting to figure out that Boruto isn't a villain.

This was really good. I really like how Shikamaru plays a huge role in this volume, and that he's realized the power of Omnipotence several different times but keeps forgetting. I also loved seeing Boruto and Sarada reuniting. It was really sweet to see that they still cared for each other. Mitsuki's journey to find his "sun" is really cool too. I loved how Boruto made him question who he really cares about.

Everyone was just trying to sort out their memories and tried to figure out if Boruto was an enemy or not, and it was really cool to follow along on everyone's journey. Overall, this storyline is really intriguing, and I'm always excited to read more of it.

I'm really excited to read more in Volume 3.

Finally catching up with Two Blue Vortex. It's taking a while to come out, but I think, at least, it's worth the wait.

The time-skip after the switcheroo has taken SO much toll on everyone, it's almost like a brand new comic. Solid, too. It's fascinating.

Tragic, too, but it makes for interesting worldbuilding and drama that I just can't get out of my head.

Personal note:
If anyone reading my reviews is be interested in reading my SF (Very hard SF, mind you), I'm open to requests.

Just direct message me in goodreads or email me on my site. I'd love to get some eyes on my novels.

4/5 Stars (%71/100)

It was good but I liked it a bit less than the previous one. Boruto was complicated enough and now we have 10 Tails doppelganger monster things walking around. Shikamaru has been doing great as the new Hokage since Naruto disappeared 3 years ago (thanks Kawaki). It is nice to see Boruto grown up and acting more and more like Sasuke (calm and strong). I'm curious to see what happens next but I should not get my hopes up because Boruto (the series) tends to screw up things.

My ratings for Boruto: TBV keep climbing, and for good reason—it just continues to get bigger and better.

Volume 2 delivers exactly what I hoped for in this arc: Himawari stepping into the spotlight, the high-stakes consequences of Eida’s omnipotence, the intense teenage angst from a dynamic cast of characters, and the ongoing growth of our protagonist.

At this rate, Boruto might just surpass Naruto.

the confrontation between mitsuki and Boruto was great, Shikimaru figuring everything out was great, the escalation is fun yet I can't believe there is yet another multi-member evil super powered group using the divine tree, except this time they are the divine tree wooooo
