Suiren and Kawasumi’s love story continues in these collected spin-offs, one-shots, and bonus chapters! Extras include the couple’s meet-cute from Kawasumi’s perspective, a chapter about Yuri and Daisuke’s long-distance difficulties, the slow burn of Koharu and Atohira’s budding romance, and many more. Also included is the Like a Butterfly one-shot that started it all, as well as tributes and original artwork from other manga artists celebrating the series’ success.
Another refreshing shoujo romance! I didn't like it as much as Lovely Complex, but it did have some unique aspects to it, that made it equally enjoyable.
To begin with, both the MCs are quiet and introspective, which was a change of pace from other similar manga, as the focus was given to their body language and inner thoughts. The pacing matched their personalities as well - slow and calming. Secondly, the artwork is phenomenal. I mean, I would read it all over again just to gush about the art!
The plot by itself is pretty trite and even old-fashioned to an extent, with the side characters bordering on being useless aside from furthering the romance of the protagonists. The confessions and feelings also felt unrealistic and at times, even rushed, but who reads manga for practical reasons anyway?
I liked the way friendships were portrayed as well as the whole concept of two socially awkward teens falling in love, and aside from a few weird twists in the plot lines towards the end, I give it a solid 4 out of 5 stars (if only for the artwork alone)
All in all, one of the most wholesome manga I have come across!
I actually finished this manga! ꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡ ♡˖꒰ᵕ༚ᵕ⑅꒱ It was cute; slow at most times but there was something about it that kept me hooked. Probably the sweet summer love between Kawasumi and Suiren. It was adorable for the lack of the perfect word. The ending was exactly how I predicted it to be and yet I loved how simple it was. As Suiren mentioned, they're still teenagers who are in love, and yet to see the real world out there where she and Kawasumi, and all her other friends will be separated from each other, as everyone has different plans after high school. And that, my dear friends, is real life, which is what made me love it. But I also loved how in the end Kawasumi promised Suiren a future. It's cheesy and probably won't come true, but they're young and this is as realistic as it can get. Overall a great shoujo read. Would definitely recommend it to people who are in slumps and looking for something fluffy and quiet.

A ver... 3 estrellas.
it was really good, the art style is just ADORABLE. this was my first experience with Morishita sensei's works and man, it was adorable and sweet. The art itself just proves it, basically.
will be sure to reread this soon because again, Hibi ChouChou was one of my first ever romance mangas when I was a teen, so ... 4 years later, lol. would update when I finish rereading it.
i finished my reread! well, that was good. i think i'm kinda numb with storytelling that just isn't doing anything different for me. though, i have to say, i didn't realise that this series was that fast-paced. they are basically dating in less than 10 chapters but still haven't said anything to each other. gold.
atohira (?) was the kind of character that we should like, not understand, but now that I read this again, i just couldn't stand him. He basically 'played' his way with Koharu even though she has done million of things for him every single day, i don't condone to his 'aloofness' and 'lack of common sense to read the room' for that long. i just didn't like how he acted, at least. the pushing and pulling of both of the main leads was ok, sometimes too much and seems just pointless to me but overall, it was alright. Suiren ... she was something else. She was not your usual popular girl, but other than that, she acts cute but then got boring. idk. she's really really cute though, and for real her efforts is huge to get Kawashima to like her and to be more outspoken was cute.

Konnichiwa to all readers 🌸
Today I bring you the latest volume of suu Morishita's "Daily Butterfly" manga, which is made up of exclusive materials. With that said, we begin:
🦋This volume provides several extra chapters focused on characters like Koharu, Daisuke or Yuri. On the other hand, it brings us the pilot installment of the title and the dates between Suiren and Kawasumi from his perspective.
🦋On the other hand, we find the publication of interviews with the authors, tribute illustrations by other authors and color illustrations.
🦋About the plots that are presented to us, such as the beginning of Koharu's latest romance or the visit to the shopping center by the protagonist couple, they mix humor with romance.
🌸Conclusion: The stories presented to us in this volume constitute a beautiful epilogue for the work.
Certainly, volume number eleven left us with a bittersweet ending in which some more aspects of the work could have been worked on.
Finally, considering the beauty of the illustrations and the author's messages, saying goodbye to this cotton candy story is hard.
I'll have a full review of the entire series coming soon.
Hibi Chouchou is a manga I would classify as "quiet". In terms of the general atmosphere, I would compare it to Natsume's Book of Friends, even though the two are completely different genres.
But both are not manga that are not going to "yell" at you. They are not loud, or oppressive, or demanding. They are warm, sweet and thoughtful. They are not overly dramatic and they don't need to be. They take their time, slowly, not demanding anything from you and yet somehow still retaining your attention and devotion.
They envelop you like a blanket, keeping you warm at night. Making you smile. Making you root for the main crazy like crazy, as you fall in love with their friends and relationships. You fall into rhythm with them as their daily life unfolds. No antagonist to rage against. No big obstacles besides those normal people in normal relationships will face.
Genuine. Sweet. Unassuming. Calming. Quieting. All those words come to mind when I think of this manga. If any of these words appeal to you, give this manga a shot to grab your heart and twist it around its little finger. Promise you won't be disappointed!
Volume 11 is the actual end of the main story. This volume is similar to an accompaniment or extra. It contains beautiful artwork, a variety of short stories and a tribute from other fellow mangakas.
It was nice to read the short stories to know what happened with the other side characters, such as Koharu and Yuri. I wasn’t fully satisfied and honestly they felt bittersweet but it was still a good ending and a happy one. There was also an alternative version of volume one chapter one from Kawasumi’s perspective. It was entertaining to read about his view especially since he’s so shy and had no prior interaction with girls.
The tribute pages are absolutely stunning! It was very refreshing and heartwarming to see other mangakas drawing the Hibi Chouchou characters in their art style. Each style was interesting but I think I love the soft, simple and rounded style of Suu Morishita the best!
Overall this series was sweet yet slow. There is a lot of key discussions throughout that were touched on; such as insecurity and questions in a relationship, believing in yourself and trusting your significant other as well as acknowledging your faults and those of others. I recommend if you pick up this series to read it in one sitting to fully appreciate the story and its calming pace. It’s a good, fluffy shoujo with beautiful artwork and themes!
Honestly, this volume isn’t worth it because it is just side stories and collaborations which I’m not a fan of. However, it help me truly realize, that the other couples stories are better than the main couple’s one…. The pigtail girl with cosmetology boy was simple but sweet. Also, Ato with the girl rival was different, but he fell in love one bento at a time. Even the stupid original one shot was a better romance story than the story told in the series. (╯°益°)╯彡┻━┻
Side note, I know that this volume was gonna be all the extra’s; however, I was hopeful about a chapter based in the future. Obviously, that didn’t happen. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There isn't really anything new as far as progressing the story in this volume as it's a collection of short stories and shared cross pieces from various people who worked on the production to gather together the entire story. Kawasumi and Suiren have a few stories, going back to when they first met and different points of view, but some of the shorts are focused on other characters, too. It's a cute collection, but doesn't have the same flow since the stories jump around to different points and have slightly different art styles along with various other character summaries and author greetings.

Amazing. I finished this in less than a day, I was completely hooked. The pacing was slow and normally that would bother me but in this case I enjoyed it. The slow love story between Kawasumi and Suiren was so sweet and and adorable, I loved that we saw the love from both point of views too. This is my first time giving shoujo a chance and now I’ll definitely check more out. I absolutely adore the art style. <3
I really liked the ending. At first I hated how slow the events were going on and how cold Suiren is, but now after finishing I knew that this manga had always warmed my heart and made me feel happy.
Good story with good character developments, I loved the art as well.
I really enjoyed this coming-of-age romance manga. It was so adorable I swooned over the main characters’ cuteness a couple of times. It depicts a slow-burn, lighthearted romance which I enjoyed so much especially on how the characters improved themselves and learned how to express their feelings more.
It's so strange to read a series for 10 years and then finally be over with it. Definitely a bittersweet feeling. Tbh this wasn't my favourite shoujo manga series ever (not even close to it), but there were overall sweet moments through it and I have to admit that the couple that was introduced at the last minute grabbed my attention way more than the actual main couple 😂
This volume is considered extra content (the main story wrapped up in the last one).
Most of it is epilogue content, some of it is "What if?" content, and there are two parts of "Congrats" from other creators.
However, the volume starts with Chapter 1 from Kawasumi's perspective and ends with the original one-shot which is basically Chapter 1 from Kawasumi's perspective except they get to the cute stuff a lot quicker.
Overall, not bad. I still feel it should've been added in with the rest of the series, or marketed as epilogue content instead of "extras", but that's just a me thing.
Shy and quiet girl, who doesnt talk much, but very famous in school for her beauty and a quiet boy who's a karate athlete.. very sweet and interesting story. You can see how that they had a quiet and developing love for each other as the story progress.
7/25 A collection of past and future short stories, the original one-shot, and a bunch of author art + other author congrats art. I wasn't that enamored of this series so this was very underwhelming for me, but I'm sure fans will enjoy it.
