Ratnip comes snout-to-snout with a monster in this fourth book of the chapter book series from the author of Good Dog.
Word on the street is that there’s a dumpster monster living in the darkest, gloomiest alley of the City. The monster is bigger than a cat, smellier than rotten cabbage, and always hungry! One night, when Ratnip gets carried away on a treasure hunt, he accidentally wanders into the monster’s den. Will he make it out with all his whiskers still in place?
With easy-to-read language and illustrations on almost every page, the Ratnip chapter books are perfect for emerging readers.
Ratnip's sibling warms him about going down a dark alley because of the radioactive dumpster monster. But when Ratnip borrows a spray bottle from the carwash and then it accidentally goes down the alley, he must face the monster to retrieve it. This was funny. I think her writing the Ratnip stories is causing her to make the Good Dog series to be more goofy.
This one brought some laughter. They face shadows and fear the alleys of the city and with good reason. Exploring bravery and caution, an easy-to-read adventure. Lots of illustrations fun ones. Plot twist at the end.
This was such a neat little read. My kids were so sucked into the mystery surrounding the ally and were tickled when the monster was revealed. We also loved the illustrations.
