Lucy Cooper has known The Phoenix family all her life. But one particular Phoenix has always caught her eye, Rafe Phoenix. Rafe is a triplet with his brothers Ryder and Reeve and the three of them form a band called Inside Noise.
Lucy and Rafe's timing was always off, with boyfriends and girlfriends getting in the way but after a traumatic night at their high school bonfire with a cheating boyfriend and a life changing event Lucy and Rafe connect on a deeper level.
But things happen in life that make you realise that you need to escape and have time away to heal. Lucy needs to find herself again which she's does on her travels. After traveling the world and arriving back in LA, Lucy re-connects with Rafe but will their friendship blossom into something more or will Lucy still hold him at arms length?
This is my first book I've read written by Amy Davies, and wont be my last....
We meet 3 yummy brothers, in fact they are triplets!! And in a band called "Inside Noise"
This one is about Rafe Phoenix.
Lucy & Rafe have known each other growing up and had crushes on each other but like always the timing was never right.
I love reading the prologue of Lucy as it's sets the foundation of this story. As we learn that the guy that saved Lucy when she needed help was Rafe, who he fondly called her *Snowflake* in my books he rocks!! Since he kept her secret out of respect.
This was the first book that I've read by this author, so I had no idea what to expect. I'm not sure if this was the authors first book, so I would definitely try other books because there NWA's potential in this story. I know it was based on college students but it all seems so immature. The way the story started out, I felt for Lucy with what she went through with Dallas, but it stopped there because by the end of it I felt nothing for her and I felt it was contradicted. There was a lot unexplained and I felt it was rushed, because there was a lot of editing mistakes making me read sentences over so I could add the right word. Like I said at the beginning there was potential in this story. I would have to read more by this author too determine whether it is just this book, or whether this is her writing style.
Second book I have read by this author, and I'm already hooked! Love her writing style and love the side characters as much as the main ones! Look forward to reading more!
*I was gifted a copy of this book and chose to review it.*
I think I’m going to have to review this one slightly differently, as I have mixed emotions regarding it.
Storyline: Rocked! Absolutely loved it!
Lucy had something traumatic happen that has turned her into the headstrong woman she is today. Then her world turns right side up for a change. Talk about a small world. It seems the people closest to her are also linked to people from her high school days.
Rafe is the typical rocker, or at least he was. Things started changing for him and then out of nowhere, while on stage, he spots the woman he’s been in love with since forever. And let’s just say that his reaction doesn’t go over too well. Poor Rafe, open mouth, insert foot.
Rafe and Lucy learn they have to come clean about everything before they can be anything…even if it is just friends.
Writing: I enjoyed the story so much that I tried to overlook everything else, some more difficult than others. There are many, and I mean many, typos regarding spelling, missing punctuation, and the occasional incomplete sentence. There are also a couple of continuity issues. And I didn’t understand why a certain person was seen once, but nothing ever transpired regarding them. I mean why even mention that person if they aren’t going to be active in the story somehow?
I really enjoyed Rafe and Lucy and I think if this was edited a little better then it would easily get all kinds of 5 star ratings, but as it is I just can’t give it the credit it deserves.
My Favorite Quotes: “One kiss, Rafe. And only because I now know who they are talking about and you need saving. They freaking stalk you, dude.”
“Oh god, Gun you’re killing me babe. Get your sexy ass off me or I just might cop a feel.” ~I absolutely loved the relationship between Lucy, Gunner, and Monty.
“Shit she is good at that, I want to kill the fucker that taught her to suck dick this good.”
My Favorite Reactions: I was impressed at Lucy’s continued reactions to certain situations. Rafe makes an uneasy confession about a girl and she laughs at him. Groupies touch her man and she holds nothing back. Oh and in the saddest moment, a crying plea, she stands strong. Lucy is one hell of a leading character.
I liked this book. It is full of yummy brothers, angst, some drama, sexy times, and one guy who can make the sparks ignite. This book was a bit different than the normal books I read but different is always a good thing.
Now let me get to the best thing about this series; TRIPLETS! Yes I said freaking triplets that are drop dead gorgeous X 3! ;) AND! They are in a BAND! Oh boy!
This is the story of Lucy and Rafe. They have known each other for many years. They have harbored crushes for each other but never revealed anything and kept that close to them.
Years apart and the fire never stopped burning... Lucy is closed off due to a terrible accident and keeps her heart guarded. Lucy has been running but has finally decided to slow down. Her roommate convinces her to go out with her and it happens... she runs into the childhood crush Rafe.
Rafe has been living the single college life with his brothers, their band, and the women. When these two see each other again, sparks fly. Their chemistry is undeniable. As they try to navigate being friends, lines are blurred and the sparks ignite. It is only a matter of time before someone gets burned...
Do Lucy and Rafe have what it takes to make it the distance?
Lucy and Rafe aren't your typical meet and fall in love, they have known each other their entire lives, but never admitted or acted on their crushes for one another. Lucy struggled with her past that left a gaping hole in her heart, and she was so young to go through that, but loved that she had a visible support system. Rafe has his brothers (band), his mother, and uncles, plus lots of friends. I love Rafe because while being "alpha" he is sweet at the same time. Their story and journey isn't easy but not overtly angsty which I am thankful for. I teared up at one part of the book and was ready to strangle the author, LOL- but that is what makes a great read to me. Love that this wasn't a cliffhanger, but a nice lead in to the other Phoenix boys.. YUMMY! Some of the flow of the story was off for me, but I was able to dive right back in. Bravo Amy Davies! You have a fan in me!
I was tottally blown away with this book!!! From the very beginning I was hooked and couldn't wait to read more! Lucy and Rafe have known each other for a long time. After catching her boyfriend cheating at there high school bonfire Lucy's life takes a traumatic turn and Rafe is there to help.
After the tragedy that Lucy faces she decides she needs some time away. When Lucy returns she doesn't expect to come face to face with the Phoenix boy triplets. Lucy tries to leave but Rafe has other plans. Will Rafe and Lucy finally get the chance to be together or will the events from their past get in the way yet again?
Amy did an amazing job with this story. I instantly fell in love with Rafe! He is definitely in my top 5 BBF's. This story will make you laugh, cry, pissed and definitely hot!!! I can not wait to see what the other Phoenix boys have in store!
Loved this book. I love rockstar romances and this one was a sweet addition to my collection.
A short entertaining story. Rafe is in a rock band with his two brothers, they're living the life enjoying college, the groupies and the gigs they perform. Lucy is trying to get over a traumatic event and after travelling for awhile she finally puts down some roots. Dragged out one night by her room mate, Lucy comes face to face with her past. Rafe lost Lucy once before but he is desperate to get his chance even if it means being placed in the friend zone.
I loved the story and the characters. The writing style reminded me a little of fan fiction in places and it could do with proof reading, so many spelling errors and missing words that could have been picked up. Those issues do not detract from the story. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next instalment.
I pretty much harassed Amy into letting me review this book. I wanted it immediately. 1. The cover. Hello hottie. 2. Musicians. 3. Unrequited high school love. 4. Triplets. Ha! I think I mentioned that above already.
It was amazing! I loved Rafe. He was adorable! He and Lucy together are perfect! This book had me from the first paragraph. It had my emotions everywhere. And the other boys - Ryder and Reeves? Ohhhemmmgeee. They are just wow. I can't wait for their books. These guys are book boyfriends personified. Perfection. The supporting characters like Monty & Gunner? Eeeek! I want BFFs like that. They had me giggling (and blushing ... you'll see why)
It was an awesome book and I am telling y'all to go out and get it NOW!!!
I enjoyed this book, it's sweet, sexy and has triplets in it, what more do you want? Lucy and Rafe knew each other in high school, and although both harbor a secret crush on the other, something always gets in the way to stop them telling the other. When Lucy needs help, it's Rafe who finds her. Unable to cope with what's happened Lucy disappears travelling and trying to get herself together. When she moves back home and her friends persuade her to go out, of course it's Rafe and his brothers that she bumps into. The sparks are still flying between Rafe and Lucy, but with Lucy still determined not to date, Rafe sets about changing her mind. I loved Rafe, he's hot, he's in a band (not to mention he's a triplet) and he's incredibly sweet. Overall i enjoyed this book and will be reading the other brothers books to see how their stories go.
*Sighs* Rafe Phoenix, what can I say? He's loveable, sexy, charming, fun and hot as hell!!
The love between Lucy and Rafe is undeniable, but she has her reservations, which are totally understandable. Watching them progress in their relationship which undoubtably has its ups and downs, was a great journey to read! It makes you so happy at times, and at other times you want to punch your kindle and scream!! It's one hell of an emotional journey!!
I loved all of the characters and would love to read more about Maisey and Gunner (sorry chick, means you're going to have work on that for me! Lol)
I have waited for this book since I knew Amy was starting to write it, and it didn't disappoint!! Fucking A babe, you have written an amazing story and I can't wait for my boy Ryder's story!!!
We meet Lucy, who finds her boyfriend cheated on her at a bonfire party and that night changes her life forever. She goes round the world and makes friends in Wales. She returns to her hometown to live in an apartment with her best friend Maisey. One night she joins her friend Maisey and Gunner Maisies boyfriend for a night out to Max Point where the students often hang out. And has the shock of her life seeing guys she grown up with. The Phoenix triplets who are inside voice, Rock band, espically Rafe who saved her life that last day of school. We follow their story how they find love. There is ups and downs like all relationships espically with a rock star. This story was amazing. I am so glad i got recommended this series.
Wow I absolutely loved the Phoenix boys! This was such a great book. I'm a sucker for hot rockers! Lucy and Race have wanted each other for years but circumstances kept them apart. Lucy was saved by Race during a terrible tragedy. All these years he's kept her secret. Now they are reunited and the hot chemistry is undeniable. They try to be just friends but there is no hope in that. Finally they get together and it is so freaking hot. I love all these characters. I really hope the author continues on with each Phoenix brother. Great read!
This is the first book I have read by this author and I did enjoy it. I loved Rafe, Reeve and Ryder (a.k.a the Phoenix boys) and I liked Lucy. Both her and Rafe worked well as a couple, and I liked all the minor characters especially Lucy's roommate Maisey and her boyfriend Gunner.
However I did feel the story was at times lacking in detail, and that's why I didn't give it 5*. I will though be checking out Ryder and Reeve's stories, and would recommend others give this book a try. As It's a sweet, sometimes dramatic but sexy read with lots of lovable characters.
A little bit of this and a little bit of that, some hot rock stars, a twist of drama, an accident, an escape, a reunion and an ending to bring tears to your eyes. All of this makes for a hell of a book in this first installment of the Phoenix Boys Series, Rafe. Not sure any of the other triplets can top Rafe as my fave, but looking forward to the rest of this series. Great job Amy on your first rockstar book! <3 Kellie
****reviewed for Eye Candy Bookstore**** A little bit of this and a little bit of that, some hot rock stars, a twist of drama, an accident, an escape, a reunion and an ending to bring tears to your eyes. One of the best books I've read in a long time. It's addictive, seductive and sexy. I couldn't put my kindle down for a second as I didn't want to miss a single moment of this astounding novel. It's inevitable that I Will be reading this book over and over again. I cannot wait for Ryder's Stroy. Absolutely perfect :*
Sorry to start off with this but the book need to be edited. Lots of writing errors. Other than that it was an ok story. Lots of breaking up and getting back together from Rafe and Lucy. Lucy kind of got on my nerves a little with her quick jealousy tempers when Rafe would do something stupid. Quick read with a HEA.
I really enjoyed this one and pretty much read it in one sitting. I loved all the characters and thought Rafe was a super sweet and sexy guy! Rafe and Lucy were great together and can't wait to read more from this series!
I enjoyed this book emencely! I loved Rafe and Lucy's story! I look foward to reading all the Phenoix Brother books! I loved the writing and I would highly recommend it to all!
Loved the characters in this book!! All of them you don't just want to know the MC's you want to know everyone!! Can't wait to see what the next instalment brings!!!
