When a notorious necromancer escapes, Addy can only wait and hope it has nothing to do with her. But as per usual… She’s dead wrong. Visitors are on their way, both living and undead, and they all have private agendas.
Addy will need to figure out who’s after her, and who’s after the Liber Mortuorum before the Ministry can come in and cover it all up, just like they covered up the mysterious accident that befell Logan‘s parents. If she can do it, she just might learn that the events of the past may be more connected to her present woes than she ever could have imagined.
With whispers of a conspiracy within the mystery, a few dead bodies, and two handsome living men, Addy’s plate may be full, but when a good mystery is involved, she just can’t keep herself from coming back for seconds.
Another cozy mystery set in the village of Twilight Hollow, where Addy our necromancer has a coffee shop, and customers who keep returning for her magically infused baked goods. However she is not just a good baker, and a witch, but a necromancer who can see and communicate with ghosts. Addy is also a magnet for trouble, and in this book big trouble is looming on her horizon. A necromancer had escaped his prison, and he came searching for her, then a magical grimoire her family where looking after got stolen, a couple of dead bodies turned up, and Mildred the head of the council turns up after having sent a witch to spy on her. This witch being none other than the ex-wife of her current partner. Addy as usual is up to her neck in all the muddled troubles heading their way, but she is aided as usual by the incomparable Spooky, her familiar, Sandy her ghost friend, and her two 'boyfriends' Logan the detective, and Nicholas. As usual this cozy mystery is exciting, a bit dark and makes for a great read, so enjoy, I know I did and as long as Sara keeps writing them I will keep reading these cozy mysteries!
This is a lovely cheerful murder mystery, because despite the death, it's all about friendship and Adelaide gets herself all in a twist, She is still not completely committing to Nicholas though, the naughty girl, how dare she keep eyeing up Logan. Nicholas is a great boyfriend. She doesn't seem to fully trust him though and never tells him the full truth about anything. Poor Nicholas ought to dump her and run!
Things are pushed a bit further however and Adelaide and her coven find that the Ministry is in it up to their eyeballs and they are only just getting to grips with all that's gone on.
Absolutely enjoyed this addition to the series, after binge reading the first 8 I was on pins waiting for the next release, jokes on me I gotta wait at least a year for next one….oops…re-read time. Honestly tho this series is just the comfort read your looking for, it’s funny, cute, suspenseful, and so much more
I flew through these books and am sad that I now have to wait for the next one. I'm anxiously waiting to see what happens next. I'm still rooting for Logan and Addy, even though that seems increasingly more complicated with each book.
