They tried to tame me, but it turns out that I can’t be tamed after all…
Once again, I walk this earth alone. Destined for a life of misery as a Rogue— an Omega who can’t be tamed.
So, what’s the point in trying to be desirable? I may as well just give in to the deadly stereotype.
I just wish that I could forget about Brody. My scent match.
Unfortunately, he belongs to three others. Theo, Alastor, and Kellen won’t even let me near him.
They think I’m a threat.
A monster.
Maybe they’re right. Maybe the government should have sentenced me to death after all.
Yet, if someone as kind as Brody could love me, then perhaps… I'm not as awful as I thought.
But what does it matter? He has them. He will never need me.
There really is no hope left for me anymore.
I’m forever scarred.
Scarred is a contemporary Omegaverse that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. There is no choosing, and scenes of MM/ MMFM. Trigger warnings apply.
Violet Fox is a lover of foxes and the colour purple...
When she's not writing about werewolves, vampires, and faeries, she can be found watching cute fox videos online, or drinking a ridiculous amount of tea and cof
I had very low expectations for this. And it paid off!
As a recap, the first book focuses on 22/Ella, a rogue abused omega given to a pack of asshole alphas (Alastor, Kellen, and Theo) and a prim and proper male omega (Brody) who likes her pussy so much that he ignores the abuse his alphas cause her. Ella decides to leave when the abuse becomes too much and she was abandoned at a fancy venue, and Brody half understands he was an accomplice in the abuse, at least complicit, as he didn’t really care enough about Ella to ever stand up for her when she was being abused by the alphas he drooled over and half heartedly scolded. So Brody leaves as well, and the pack fractures.
In this book, we pick up where Alastor was sent on a mission to retrieve Ella. She’s living in a dump, having to fight off Alphas and fend for herself. And it should surprise no one that Alastor monologues how he wants to change, but he repeatedly ignored Ella’s boundaries, as he did before, and Ella permits him because this is a romance, that’s why.
She comes back, and Theo is more concerned about his dick being hard since a ragged and wet Ella is so hot, so fetch, and not concerning how she had to survive. Kellen is happy she’s back, you know, after all the time he can name Brody by name, but he defaults to Ella as “The Omega”. Thankfully, the author made him even more uncomfortably like a child for us to show us he’s the “golden retriever” good egg of the pack.
And Ella of course is just a “horny bitch”. Because this is omegaverse. Why not. Why would we ever have any depth in omegaverse when we can ignore trauma and abuse and how they have a relationship with the characters, when we can focus on being horny?
Okay.
Brody is just so heartbroken the abused omega he was complicit in letting be abused never had luxuries. That’s nice.
Nest shopping happens.
Weird ass nicknames happen. Prepare for an onslaught of Peter Pan shit.
“Monster smut” verbatim is in the dialogue. Lovely.
Sex sex, ooh look, sex, no character development, no character development…
Wait!
Ah!
No character development.
Shit, I was thinking we were getting somewhere. Silly me!
All right something something Ella makes some bullshit list so Theo has to find kids he bullied and seek forgiveness. Whatever. He does to a woman named Sarah, who does not forgive him, thank GOD.
Oh. Ella’s heat is approach.
You know what that means? No character development 🥳
Listen, at this point, I should’ve been paid to read this 😭
I don’t know. Theo doesn’t want his position back since he was the most abusive shithead of the dynamic trio. There’s a cat and a dog adopted. The heat happens. All is forgiven because sex > character development. Ella’s abusers need to be taken down in the third act. So that happens.
“We wasted no time as soon as we got home, and it seems all is truly forgiven.”
Okay girl.
Overall Thoughts.
Ah.
This was a cash grab duology, wasn’t it?
I’m someone who enjoys omegaverse and why choose. But there’s a difference to me between books that were made because the the author wanted to chronicle the adventures of these people VS the author wants to capitalize on something and make coin.
This is that story.
DUN DUN 🛎️
No, but seriously. This duology had very little to tell. If this was supposed to be the “Cinderella” story like Ella mentions in the quite literal second to last paragraph, this entire duology was a pisspoor rendition. This story, instead, decided to take whatever tropes make a lot of money and clout and shove them into this book without any sort of oversight.
What would have increased my rating
✨ Deep dive into Ella and her relationship with her trauma. Due to the negative relationship, Ella perhaps has suicidal ideation to a worrisome degree. She’s not responsive when the alphas abuse her. She’s not even responsive to Brody. She has no arousal or typical omega elements since the severe stress and abuse suppressed her omega functions as a means of survival. Slowly, under Brody’s care, she learns to eat again and sleep again, but she only views him as a comfort but not a reliable one. At the venue, she gives into her need to bolt and she willingly runs off. From there, maybe Gryphon’s pack find her and see she’s been hit. We meet Mila. I need more attention on seeing Ella slowly evolve and with people who have the best interests of her and want her to learn what the best interests are.
✨ Hold Brody accountable. Rather than trying to make Brody the “good one”, have Brody recognize even deeper that he is responsible for ignoring Ella’s abuse in his own home. Rather than him giving assignments to his alphas like a parent to a child, he’s done. Have Gryphon intervene here. Brody can find Ella again and take accountability for his role to play. Maybe he and Ella decide to enter an omega x omega relationship.
✨ Cut the shit with Alastor. Cmon. So he just smirks. And that’s it? Let’s—bear with me—be a bit daring and make him actually change his ways. Let his little smirking mask crumble and he understands the scope of what’s happening. Rather than Brody “assigning” him to find Ella, he does leave the pack. And independently, he decides to find Ella and respect her boundaries. He’s more honest. He’s more mature.
✨ Kellen. Let’s try a bit harder to not make him the golden retriever archetype and make him a humanized character who happens to have golden retriever qualities, hm?
✨ Theo… Just…Theo. If the story eliminated Theo’s weird ass horny remarks regarding Ella’s abused body and stopped bashing us with him being pathetic, let the bastard still feel he’s in the right and not understand it even with Brody gone. Have him hit rock bottom through Gyrphon or something. We don’t need this weird “I…can’t…do this…” weird ass ellipses-overloaded shit and pathetic shit. Let him atone. Let him take accountability. Let him understand he fucked up and there’s no guarantee he’ll have a relationship with any of his pack again. And by his actions and words, he is earned a second chance.
Conclusion
But yeah, nah, none of that would happen, who are we kidding 🤣
It’s a shame why choose omegaverse books end up this way. There’s so much creativity to do with this, and then a book like this comes out and you wonder if the creativity is in the room with us.
This was so bad, but it was funny. So it’s a silver lining in that regard, I feel. So bad it was funny. A C-class.
1 ⭐️ though, being so bad it’s hilarious cannot help with this being bad.
Just gonna block out this author and put all works unread on DNR to save me some future time.
But if this duology was a 5 ⭐️ for you, then I’m glad it worked for you.

This duology was disappointing—it felt like it was written by a 14-year-old experimenting with an AI. I don’t remember disliking other books in the series this much, but let this review serve as a warning for Future Me: steer clear of this author’s work from now on.
What I liked: - Eggnog the cat.
What I didn’t like: - There was no romance, not even between the two omegas, despite the setup. Ella came across as a stunted, one-dimensional character with no growth whatsoever. Kellen was even worse—portrayed as disabled, but not in a meaningful or nuanced way. Instead, his character felt like a caricature: more Lenny from Of Mice and Men than Charlie from Flowers for Algernon. It was frustrating and demeaning.
I can’t believe I wasted an entire afternoon on this book. Why?
I normally reserve 1 ⭐️ reviews for DNFs, but I read this one to the end because, after the first half of Ella’s duet, I wanted to believe there would be a satisfying conclusion. That being said, I think this was the weakest book of the Beta Trials verse. The characters felt hollow, and it was a chore to read through their dialogue, even in the scenes intended to be more emotional (eg. Theo and Kellen in their grovelling scenes). The ‘competition’ amongst the Alphas felt half-hearted, bordering on cringe, and the significance of passing Pack Lead power amongst each other was massively diminished by the fact that it really didn’t ever impact the plot (outside of Theo sulking and not engaging much with the rest of the pack). The ending conflict felt so rushed and awkwardly inserted into the overall plot, and would have fit in better if this was going to be a trilogy rather than a duet. Alas, we were left with the quickest rise and fall of a conflict, and all of a sudden “we’re heading into the future, we’re finally a pack.” What??? All the points of contention within the pack are just magically okay? The ending was so underwhelming, I actually felt mad when I got to the end.
I just couldn't get over the attitudes of the alphas in this part of the story. It didn't feel like they ever really redeemed themselves or totally learned their lesson. Their actions felt very "lipstick on a pig" to me.
The first couple books in this series were good imo, but parts five and six really just didn’t do it for me. I read both, thinking that maybe after how… not right(?) the first book felt; the second should do a deeper dive and have some development and progression. If you’ve read more than one review you’ve probably gathered that one of the biggest complaints is lack of character development. Is there progress? Sure. I guess. But there are no “light bulb moments” and even with their “improvements” the characters still fall flat. Kellen is probably the character that was the most poorly written for me. Clearly he is ment to be the golden retriever of the pack; however, he is written in a way that makes him feel infantile. At one point Brody (M Omega) says, “Oh Kellen, you’re not that smart are you?” Kellen then has an inner monologue that agrees. We then later find out that Kellen is dyslexic. And everyone is constantly rolling their eyes at everything Kellen says when they’re supposed to be pack. I just… this was the unpack-y-ist pack I’ve ever read about.
At this point I’m ranting, save yourself the headache and stop at book 4.
I know authors sometimes read these - and I feel bad writing negative reviews. But please take this as constructive criticism and not as an active attack.

I really do believe a good book compels the reader to see it through. I've read all the books in the series, I read the first boom and kept going. Yet, honestly, I didn't like them. The alphas are horrible to each other. They should not be friends, let alone a pack. Their descriptions, especially their eyes, Gryphon's eyes, all I could see was a rat. Not a leader. Theo's eyes could be the foundation for any serial killers description. And, wow, their interactions with each other are just a show of a psychopath definition. This book, particularly, was very heavy on bullying. The omegas are no different and sometimes worse than the alphas they were trying to tech a lesson to. It's just a very bizarre stew of elements all thrown together. The story/plot doesn't change from book to book. The one element that works is the underlying story of the ultimate "bad guy," the Warden. And I'll be here for it.
This book had a lot of important plot happen off page. At the end of the last book all the alpha POVs they don't really care about her but in the week she's missing they all have a magic change of heart and love her but we don't get to see any of that change happen. It makes the characters feel really disconnected from the first book. Additionally in the very beginning she tells Alastor that he's not allowed to call her by her name and he thinks he'll earn the right to call her Ella. Only that plot point just disappears entirely, they all just start calling her Ella and acting in love immediately. The grovel is not bad, but it was really lacking seeing their actual growth overall.
This book has a lot of problems telling and not showing.
Scarred the beta trials part 6 by Violet Fox. I truly enjoyed this second part of the book I was so invested in this whole book series you fall in love with each character and each dramas and Redemption and triumphant that the omega's faces in these book series is overwhelmingly beautiful the way this book started out was tough but the ending of the book was amazing. also they had to go through some bumps and hurdles but I truly enjoyed the dynamic between the Alpha and the omega's I love the pack dynamic in the connections and bonds that are forged Violet has done an amazing job with this book series and this books part 6 was an amazing read I highly recommend this book series
Omegaverse is a total fantasy, and while the first four books aren’t necessary, the fifth is, as this is the second in the duet. Our rogue Omega puts her Alphas through their own trials, and more intrigue. It’s a bit dark, certainly at least grey, so if that isn’t what you need, you may want to wait on this series. It is very well written, the universe well drawn, and the people are fascinating. Totally satisfying. Can’t wait for the next in the series!
I love this series and how each duet is focused on a new pack. This is probably one of my favorites of the duets so far. I really enjoyed this story. This story was intense but I also really loved how they finally came together.
These characters have a way of pulling my heart strings and I was finally excited to see their HEA. This second chance romance had me swooning. I really love the omegas too it makes me smile.
Overall, this book was good and I highly recommend if you love omegaverse and second chance romance!
This felt like a parody of the first book in the duet. Seriously, what the fuck happened? I truly adored this series up until this book- it completely missed the mark.
If you want more omegaverse please read anything in the beta trials OUTSIDE of this duet. The author clearly has no love for Sentenced and Scarred
I’m shocked this was even published. The writing went downhill, it’s unrealized, the characters don’t make any sense… what was Violet thinking?!
It was difficult reading the fractures in the Pack bonds but oh so satisfying as well. I wasn’t sure they were going to ever learn to work together and to be fair, it didn’t seem like Brady and Ella really needed the alphas. Fantastic book and an explosive ending, very happy.
What a great series! Each duet is as great as the one before and Ella’s story and ending is fabulous! Violet wrote a story of a tortured, damaged Omega who is incredibly strong. As heartbreaking as the book starts… Ella’s strength never wavers! You will not be able to put this down!
We finally got the second part of Ella's story, and it was worth the wait. Thoroughly enjoyed her story. The men really redeem themselves. I'm looking forward to seeing the Warden get what he deserves.
A story doesn't often make me physically emotional, but this series.....THIS rouge's story made me cry....and laugh....and get angry....and cry some more 🤣🤣 but it was worth every nail biting, alpha cursing moment!
Lots of angst in thus book. Ella and Brody return to the Titan Pack. There is much groveling, competition and self doubt. The pack works together to thwart another rebellion.
