You know the phrase "fed is best"? I feel like "educated is best" is the philosophy I carry. I picked up "The Montessori Way" from the library simply to learn more about the method and how to apply its principles with my child at home. Since there are no Montessori schools in my area, I wasn't looking to be converted; I just wanted information.

It felt like the book had a different agenda. At times, the tone shifted from being informative to being overly persuasive, as if trying to convince me that this is the only "right" way to educate a child.

Despite the heavy-handed delivery, I did find some valuable takeaways. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on environmental stewardship and speaking to children about climate change. Living in rural South Carolina, I often wonder how much exposure my child will get to these global topics in a traditional public school setting, so I’m glad to have some Montessori-inspired foundations to build on at home.

Ultimately, it’s a good resource for the "what" and "why," even if the "how-to" gets buried under a bit too much dogma.
