“Lola Taylor” is a pen name created for the romances I can’t show my grandma without blushing. My favorite genre to write is romantic suspense, usually involving hot werewolves, warlocks, or any other type of paranormal creature. Keep the action hot and the romance hotter—that’s my motto! I’m a horror film junkie, I still love Halloween as an adult (seriously, I think I get more excited for it than some kids do), and what precious spare time I have is spent with my family, reading (everything from sci fi to middle grade), playing the flute, painting pretty pictures, or screwing around on Pinterest or Etsy. Hailing from the South, I currently live in the Midwest with five fur babies and my hubby.

Entertaining, not serious and fun.
Honestly this series gets the job done, lol. I feel like it’s got enough fantasy elements to be interesting, but the main plot of course revolves around the romantic interest. I found that they were fun and easy to read. Not a lot of detail, though, which I kind of was a little bit disappointed by. The book goes by so fast. And one of the major pitfalls of this book (and the first book in the series) is that the book just up and ends when they have sex for the first time :/
I don’t know if I will read the third book in the box set or not just for the plot. Honestly, I might! We’ll see. But I wouldn’t read this a second time, hence the 3 stars.

3.75 stars. This book seemed a lot more...polished, and even grown-up than the first in this series. Whereas the first one seemed almost amateurish and unedited, this one reads like a well put-together supernatural romance. I really related to the character of Alara, I also liked how her issues weren't just skimmed over, they were explained well and in just enough detail. This was still insta-love, incredibly cheesy, and a lot happened in a short space of time but it definitely wasn't as 'all over the place' as the first book. It was still a fast-paced and fun read, and the author did a good job of making me feel more for the characters by including a backstory, even if it was a little rushed.

This instalment was a lot darker as it explored more about the rituals of Mistress Black, and featured more violence (and evil characters >:))

I think the second book is definitely an improvement on the first, and is definitely tempting me to buy the rest of the series!

Here's the thing , I don't really like this series, and I have no idea why I don't, I like the world the author has built. I like the Men, its the women I am not crazy about .. there just is not any one reason why I don't , So I am baffled, I also can not put my finger on why the series as a whole hasn't grabbed my attention ,I am not even going to read the 3rd book in the series I just have no desire to immerse myself in something that feels mundane to me. .

I am truly loving this series. Ms. Taylor has grabbed me and won't let go. I just bought book 3 and cannot wait to see how this series continues. The new characters and the mysteries revealed just get better and better.
