Strings of Fate" presents readers with a captivating blend of urban fantasy, intricate world-building, and a protagonist whose unique magical abilities set her apart in a society divided between humans and Magics.
The idea behind this book is really amazing..... it’s got so much potential! And the author shows a lot of promise. With the right editing and support from a real publishing team, this could turn into something incredible. The concept is there, but sadly it feels like it just needs that extra polish to really make it shine.
I read a Lesson in Magic by kit Bryan on the AnyStories app. It was 172 chapters long. Zero spice. Slow burn romance. Very well written and decent character development. Just wanted more between the FMC and MMC. Same again read 170 chapters of Human Guide to magical mishaps. Same review. Ugh
This story has SO much potential. a very cool concept and magic systems. With the right editing it could be an awesome stand alone or series on shelves everywhere.
Sorry guys, I really wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't take the FML any more. She keeps pushing Bellamy, our MML, away. And he's the SWEETEST alpha ever. I'm not really into Panther shifters, but he could change that. She's not really a jerk to him, but I just got so tired of seeing him trying so hard with her and she just kept running hot and cold with him.
The sad thing is, it was a missed opportunity. The storyline was indeed very interesting, it was the character development that tanked this for me.
Considering this is self published it has a lot of potential. Did I really enjoy it in the beginning? Yes! Did I DNF it at 50% also Yes. Ryann selfishness was just getting to me. Also her relationship with her true soulmate started to feel very one sided and was starting to give creepy vibes between them. She acts like she is 14 years old, has mental problems and never been kissed. The arc with the villian started but there never happend anything. He just admitted everything and that was it. There is no tension in the book. What I did like in the beginning where the characters beside Ryann. It was cute with the friendships and possible relationship.
This is a fun first novel. You can tell it was written in serial form, needs lots of editing. But I love the author’s voice, imagination, and characters. I like her book about magical mischief a lot more. Hope to see more from them and I hope they publish them as real books eventually.
The book had a lot of filler, took awhile to get to the point. The female lead was very timid and it didn’t really change much. It felt odd that she was ready to run a pack but was afraid to kiss her mate? Overall, I’d say it was a little juvenile and lacked a solid plot.
I overall enjoyed this book! I found the first 4 chapters on an ad at first, and it really drew me in. I loved how Bellamy and Ryann actually communicated and there wasn’t a huge miscommunication trope.(I hate those so much😭)
If you’re looking for a fast paced story and for a FL who is very decisive and doesn’t get too awkward with the ML I wouldn’t recommend you read this, but if you don’t mind a FL who takes a long time to deal with her feelings and powers and tends to run away a bit, then I’d say give this a go! This story is a good read if you just want to relax and read bits here and there.
I feel Bellamy was a really good ML and the author did a great job of him letting Ryann take things at her own pace, not rushing her and helping her to feel more comfortable around him. I do get that some people would find it annoying that Ryann seems indecisive and confused about her feelings, but I feel that the other characters and her character growth later on makes up for it!
And let’s be real, if you were in her shoes in real life with her kind of power and life, can you say you would have done any better? There’s a difference between thinking that we would have chosen differently and actually having her life as our reality and choosing differently. Anyways, there are certain situations where Ryann grows and learns from her past reactions and I feel like that’s really important too. We may not agree with some of the choices she made, but at least she came to grow and learn with time. (Even if she did take a long time!)
Am also glad that the author added a few chapters from Aaron’s, Bellamy’s, Megan’s, and Cam’s POV at the end though! Was a little disappointed with Bellamy’s POV, but I really enjoyed Cam’s and Aaron’s POVs and I only wish we had Darrien’s POV too.
I’d say give this story a go and see if you like it! Loved the whole ‘strings of fate’ concept and enjoyed parts where Harry tried to win a certain bartender over! Have fun reading ^^
This story is so captivating! Is an easy read but it is hard to put down. I’m intrigued by the world the author has created and the characters are fairly well developed. The main character can be a bit frustrating at times, but that’s hardly a dealbreaker. I did feel that the culprit was fairly obvious and very conveniently overlooked, but maybe the characters *were* actually too overwhelmed with everything else to realize?
I read the story on NovelFlow but would happily purchase it in paperback if it were ever printed. There are a few minor errors (like the occasional inconsistent spelling or a wrong name used) that would quickly be cleaned up by an editor, but I thoroughly enjoyed the more casual writing style. When I finished all 300 chapters I was still left wanting more and I would be happy to find more stories in this world, whether they were further adventures of the characters in this book or not.
I’m looking forward to reading more from this author and definitely planning to reread this one.
I loved the concept of this book because it was so different. I love how the different magics were interwoven. I thought the book was done, but to then have the chapters in the other characters perspective was amazing! Aaron! The biggest surprise of them all. I hope this author has more book and not only on the apps that need coins….. thank goodness it was a good book because it ended up being very expensive book since I couldn’t wait for my points to refill.
I enjoyed the story. However, it's very slow moving, which is frustrating. It's predictable, but not always in a bad way. Just as it evolves into something interesting, it switched POV, and now im reading the same story again with very little new information. seems like the author knows many people pay per chapter and intentionally dragging it out. I'll update when im finished, but honestly. I want to throw in the towel
this format was super annoying and I can't wait to delete it.
this book really needed editing.
I liked the story. the magic world in the normal world was great. the mystery kept me interested. the characters were fun. for the first time in a while I might actually want to be friends with them. I want to be in that group chat.
there was nothing gross to me (sexual/moral/language)--maybe a little bit I don't remember enough that bothered me.
I love the characters that the author created. The main characters are clear enough for me that I fall in love with most of them. I also really enjoy the pop culture references and asides in parentheses, that give you insight to he main character’s humor. Loving this book! Highly recommend if you want a charming, quick read that makes you feel good.♥️
I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I couldn't put it down! I loved all the characters. They were well developed, so I felt like I really knew them. In fact, I'm sad I've finished the book. I feel like the characters were friends that I won't get to see again. I will definitely be checking out more books by this author.
I read this book on one of those awful story apps because I kept getting ads for it and it sucked me in! The story and the characters were incredibly sweet and enjoyable. BUT, it was so badly written and full of typos and grammatical errors it was really hard to read.
It had potential, especialy when the MC actually stood up to the guy. But it had Bad pacing and it was annoying that the MC got all wimpy once they got together 🤦♀️

The idea of this book is soooo good but it just needs an editor and real publishing… the writing is just not good and there are so many plot holes etc. but I like the fate magic idea!
Bellamy is an overly emotional p*ssy (meow) and NOT an alpha, and Ryann is one of THE MOST annoying, bratty and illogical fmc’s, EVER! 🥱 But the idea with fates is cool, needs editing.
Saw the first 2 chapters as an ad while playing a game. Was hooked in sentences, seeing the 'strings of fate' as your personal magic sounds awesome. Managed to find the book online. So far, I'm really enjoying it! :-) Easy to read, no fuss, and flows/progresses as expected.
