Pocket watches aren't supposed to electrocute you. They aren't supposed to dump someone else's war-torn memories into your brain, either. Unfortunately for 17-year-old Aaron Taylor, he's got his hands on the one watch that does both.
At first, Aaron tells himself the memories are simply hallucinations brought on by the stress of moving overseas. But the more he interacts with the watch, the harder it gets to deny the truth of the 70-year-old images invading his mind. Fearing for his sanity, Aaron reluctantly enlists the aid of his only friend Zelda, a first-degree conspiracy nut. Together, they set out across the snowy streets of Prague in search of the one person who can explain what makes the watch the man who created it.
Finding the watchmaker, however, is soon the least of Aaron's problems. Because there are other people looking for the watch--quantum physicists, convinced the watch is a source of unlimited power; mercenaries, contracted to procure exotic weaponry at any cost; and Tomas, a rookie spy who desperately wants to preserve the watchmaker's legacy.
When a sudden attack forces them to flee the city, Aaron and Zelda follow Tomas deep into the Czech countryside. They take refuge in a clandestine research facility known as the Silo, but their reprieve is short-lived. Just as Aaron learns he's irrevocably bonded to the watch, a traitor delivers him into the clutches of a sadistic arms dealer, a man willing to kill in order to harness the watch's true power. Power only Aaron can access. Power he hasn't even begun to tap.
I am very curious to find out about what the story is with the pocket watch. The beginning is a little bit slow but other than that I would be really interested in reading more. I really enjoyed the mystery that was used within the story.
