Two warring families, the Thurstons and the Roths, decide to put their differences aside and betroth their children. Will Thurston, the fierce Prince in the North is cold, calculating, and seemingly as frozen as his terrain. He is revered for his brilliance in battles and his strategies, but the death of his mother has left him feeling distant and the sadness have overtaken him.

Tamzin Roth is as warm and nurturing as her terrain. She loves people, parties, but secretly believes no one takes her seriously. Her first meeting with Will leaves little to be desired, but slowly, her warmth thaws the ice around Will's heart. As their relationship grows and flourishes, betrayals and those vying for Will's crown come forth, and Will and Tamzin find themselves unarmed against not only their own passions, but what is to come.

18+ for strong sexual content/situations, language, violence, and violence against women.

This is the first book in a trilogy.

First I want to say, this book was very good. I liked it. The author created two likeable characters... Will and Tamzin. It starts off with two kings who have been at war for many years.... they agree to marry their oldest children to each other in order to gain peace between their two kingdoms. Will, is 18, and Tamzin is 16. Will at first, takes an instant dislike to Tamzin, and is not very nice to her. They marry anyway, and over a few months fall in love.

The bad guy, a BASTARD brother to Will's father, the current king, eventually takes over the castle, declares himself king, and commits grievous atrocities against the people of the kingdom. Mass murder, the beating, and imprisonment of a pregnant woman...etc. just your overall psychopath.

Bad points about the book: several grammatical errors, words used improperly...etc. However, they were few and far between, and did not detract from the book...in my opinion. Also, I feel the author could have described the battles that took place... we the readers, were only told that the good army had won a battle....there was no action. I feel that the Author missed the opportunity to make the book better.

Overall, it was a good book that I would recommend. I look forward to the next book in the trilogy.
