I think this book should be called the practical parenting book. Here Nicky and Sila draw on their experience of raising 4 healthy children into adulthood. The couple conduct a parenting course as well. The book is full of practical advice on a broad spectrum of challenges that face every parent. Also it has some practical reflection points. The book talks about child rearing from the birth to adulthood and how parents go with our children on a journey. Although The book articulates that every family goes through their interactions differently but it gives guidelines along the path on pitfalls to avoid and opportunities to latch on.
I really enjoyed that book, it broadened my knowledge and definitely impacted my relationship with my own children. I am thankful for God, Niky and Sila for sharing their experience so we learn.
I'm used to reading parenting books with scientific references, so this book has been unexpectedly good. It contains a lot of down-to-earth real life examples of parenting situations, which were extremely similar to situations I encounter with my family on an everyday basis. I would recommend it to all parents and particularly those with a Christian background.
A good brief insight into understanding how and what children of different age group think. Practical steps on dealing with children of different age group biblically.
