An autobiographical novel describing the fortunes of a Jewish family in Hungary during World War II, seen through the eyes of a child. It is a story of courage in adversity, obstinate refusal to succumb to unnatural disaster and comic moments of defiance in the face of tragedy.
Due to the lack of time it took me a month to finish this book. I didn’t get the chance to properly immerse myself into it. I might’ve enjoyed it otherwise. :/
