Bound & Blitzed!
When Valentina’s Visa was expiring and her research wasn’t completed, the last thing she thought of was getting married to become legal to stay in the States and finish her work.
Avery hasn’t been the guy anymore would ever expect to get serious about a woman or marriage but when he runs into Valentina and finds out her predicament, he’s all in , not only to help her out but to prove to himself that he can be more than athlete and he is able to commit to help someone other than himself.
So when this marriage of convenience takes place, real life sneaks in and the adventure begins.

Who knew I’d find myself hoping for Avery to find love? I mean, he’s grown a LOT from the spoiled manchild he once was. He’s given good advice to teammates and friends because he doesn’t want them making the same mistakes he’s made. But he really seems to think that he doesn’t deserve some of that happiness for himself. Not until Valentina, that is. And even then, he’s convinced she’s just one breath away from realizing she can do better.
As for Valentina, she’s got her own worries. She doesn’t expect this thing with Avery to get so…real…so fast. But their hearts know what their mouths are afraid to say. And while she’s fighting an uphill battle with her family, she’s got Avery by her side and at her back the entire time.
I really enjoyed this story of finding love even if you think it’s not for you. Finding your person and holding onto them. And not giving up, even when fear tries to invade. I promise, you’re going to really like Avery now and you’re going to completely forgive his prior deeds when you see just how much he loves Valentina.

I'm so glad to see Avery get a story, a redemption. Tho his and Valentina's story started as a marriage of convenance it wasn't for long and I loved everything that happened. The chemistry was great and it was well written.

But, seriously, I could not wait to dive into Avery's redemption story! The star quarterback for the Knoxville Coyotes was first introduced in Hot Shot's Mistake when he cheated on his long-time girlfriend, Mila. But I've always felt he deserved a shot at redemption and I waited through ten books to see it come to fruition! Yes, TEN!! And Avery and Lena's story completely surpassed my expectations!

I always love a good marriage of convenience and Avery earned his chance at redemption over and over. It started as an arrangement with Avery trying to clean up his reputation and prove he could do the right thing and Lena needing a visa to continue her research in this country. Avery treated Lena like his queen, patient, caring and understanding, loving her unconditionally. They were two lost and lonely souls who were relationship averse yet they truly saw each other, finding everything they never knew they needed, together.
"Valentina tastes like hot chocolate and the first snowfall of winter. Sweet and pure. But with a ribbon of desire that draws me to her like a magnet. I couldn’t pull away if I wanted to."
Their love was sweet and pure, innocence mixed with vulnerability. But it was also passionate and sexy and I teared up when Avery proposed giving their marriage a real chance. They worked through the guilt and shame of their respective pasts, establishing a foundation of trust and respect, showing up for each other, communicating, compromising, supporting each other.
I loved Lena's relationship with her abuela as well as the words of wisdom her abuela passed along. It was so endearing and it reminded me of my own grandma. I would have liked to see Lena exhibit more confidence throughout but I loved when she found her voice and stood up for herself. I admired her independence and drive and how she finally opened her heart fully to Avery.

Avery was simply perfect for Lena in every way! I loved how Avery fell hard and fast, never giving up on having a happy future with Lena. I smiled and swooned, laughed and cried, and I'm so glad Avery found his own HEA with Lena. Their story was about following your heart and pursuing your passions, being willing to fight for the love of your life even when it seems as if all hope is lost. It was about finding the place you truly belong, with the one you love, the one who feels like home.

Avery and Valentina meet in an unconventional way when Avery thinks she’s a stalker, but the misconception is quickly cleared and leads to a marriage of convenience. The last thing either of them expect is to fall for their new spouse but sometimes feelings get in the way.

Valentina was sweetheart, but she was so sheltered and naïve. Highly intelligent, she’s the odd one out in her family and she struggles to feel accepted by them. Aspettavo questo quarto volume con molta ansia, perché Avery mi ha sempre incuriosita parecchio. Nei libri precedenti l’avevo visto come quello che si nasconde dietro il ruolo da quarterback, quello abituato a relazioni di una notte e senza complicazioni, come se niente e nessuno potesse davvero arrivare al suo cuore. In realtà, sotto quella facciata da uomo sicuro, ho sempre avuto la sensazione che ci fosse qualcuno che aveva solo paura di essere visto davvero. E qui, tra queste pagine, finalmente l’ho scoperto. La storia con Valentina partirà da un malinteso che mi ha fatto sorridere. Lei arriva con il suo mondo fragile, le sue insicurezze, la famiglia che la schiaccia e un sogno che rischia di perdere per sempre. Avery, invece, con il suo passato che lo ha segnato a causa di un errore verso una persona che teneva a lui (ammetto che ancora faccio fatica a comprenderlo, anche se ho capito il motivo), si ritroverà a offrirle un matrimonio che dovrebbe essere solo un accordo. Eppure, pagina dopo pagina, è chiaro che tra loro c’è qualcosa che va oltre la finzione, qualcosa di vero, di speciale. Mi è piaciuto vedere Avery cambiare, prendersi cura di lei con una dolcezza che non pensavo gli appartenesse. Valentina, con il suo modo delicato e un po’ spezzato, riesce a tirare fuori la parte migliore di lui. Sembrano due mondi opposti, però in realtà si incastrano proprio alla perfezione, perché nessuno dei due è davvero quello che mostra agli altri. Forse avrei voluto qualche pagina in più, qualche momento più profondo per sentire ancora meglio la scintilla tra loro, perché un pochino mi è mancato. Una cosa che continuo ad amare di questa serie, è quanto la famiglia e gli amici siano fondamentali. Sono sempre presenti, ascoltano, sostengono, curano le ferite. È un filo che unisce tutti i volumi e che rende ogni storia unica e vera. E anche Avery, che non pensavo potesse piacermi così tanto, si è preso il suo spazio nel mio cuore.

This is an enjoyable, heartwarming, tender and emotional football romance; a story of finding love, finding your person, holding onto them and not giving up, even when fear tries to invade.
Avery Callaway, the Knoxville Coyotes quarterback and football legend, believes he has a stalker and decides to confront her. Only this stalker turns out to be Valentina, Lena, Garcia, a woman who lives in his building and whose sister is friends with Raia, Avery’s sister. Lena is in Tennessee to get her PhD in ornithology and is there on a visa. After he confronts her and finds out she is in fact not stalking him, Avery learns that Lena’s visa is tied up and she will most likely lose this once in a lifetime opportunity. I’m so happy to go back to the Knoxville Coyotes world. “Bound and Blitzed” is a romantic, emotional and sweet marriage of convenience romance that was a sweet addition to the series.
Avery Callaway is the star quarterback for the Coyotes and when he’s out one night, he thinks he has a stalker and confronts her. And to his embarrassment, she lives in his building and is friends with his sister. Valentina Garcia is on a work visa and is trying to figure out how to get it extended so she can continue her research. And Avery gets the idea that they should get married because of their family connection, it would be believable. Both benefit from the marriage but as they spend time married as a couple, a chemistry between them forms that turns the fake marriage into something real.
Once I started, I couldn’t stop reading and I really enjoyed Avery and Valentina’s story. Avery has all the confidence in himself as a football player but is also humble enough to admit when he makes a mistake, like thinking Valentina was a stalker. He’s a great teammate and I love how close he’s with his family. Valentina is amazing and I love how passionate she is with her career. She is also close with her family even if they don’t understand why she wants to live in the US to further her career. The way they truly meet had me cracking up but they were able to work out the confusion. I could tell there was a spark between them from the beginning and it only grew as the story went on. He thought she was stalking him, but she was just his neighbor who wasn’t impressed by his pro-football swagger. Unfortunately, though, her PhD studies are put in jeopardy by visa issues. Avery finds himself offering to marry her to save her degree, and maybe help him prove to his family he’s not the same man who made the mistakes in his past. But when their vows quickly start to feel real, can they find a way to blend their busy lives and opinionated families?
I was so ready to jump back into this world, and it was so much fun to watch Avery evolve into the man he was meant to be. It really felt like he was on a personal redemption journey, and he just needed Lena’s love and support to give him permission to forgive himself enough to allow himself to accept happiness. They both were frustrating at times with their lack of communication, but the scenes they were together were golden… great banter, authentic emotion, sweet and spicy romance. Quarterback Avery Callaway thinks he may have a stalker when he notices a woman at his games, around his neighborhood, and near his apartment building. Turns out Valentina Garcia isn’t stalking him, she just lives in his building and is friends with his sister. When he hears her story about how her visa is probably going to be revoked, he proposes - they get married, she can stay and continue her academic research and he can gain the respect he’d lost from his family when he made a mistake years ago. As time goes on, their fake relationship grows into real feelings but each deal with their complicated pasts and their families?
I read this book in a few hours, without stopping. Avery thinks he’s unworthy, but he is such a supportive and considerate husband. He’s definitely swoon-worthy, even if he needs some nudges from his teammates. Valentina is more timid than I usually like, but she finally gets herself together. The chemistry is good and the characters we’ve grown to love in Azzi’s other stories are back and enjoying their happy ever afters while guiding these two in the right direction.

Avery is more sensitive than he leads people to believe. And although she is strong. Valentina has her own insecurities and problems, especially with her family. This story is everything, and this is the story they both need and deserve.
This book was a long time coming, but it was worth the wait. I couldn't recommend this book more.

Avery finally gets his redemption story and it is a good one! After attending the engagement party of his sister and best friend, Avery is all up in his feels and heads to the bar. Here he runs into his alleged stalker (it's a fun and silly add to the meet-cute) Valentina. She is also all up in her feels knowing that her visa to remain in the US is not being renewed and she will have to leave her dream job working at the university.
Hmmm...what could possibly give these two what they both need, a relationship for Avery to show his friends and family that he can commit, and a visa extension for Valentina to stay in the US. You guessed it, a marriage of convenience! Once of my favorite tropes since you know they always fall in love!
Although they spend the beginning of their marriage avoiding each other, it doesn't take long for these two to act on the sparks of attraction. Once they give in, those sparks are hot!
Minor angst as these two are not clearly communicating outside the bedroom and they both fear the worst of the relationship but this is resolved quickly and they are onto their HEA.

If you've been around since the start of Gina's Tennessee Thunderbolts series, then you know who Avery is. You also know how his previous relationship ended, and it may have had you thinking about him in a slightly negative light.
Bound and Blitzed will change your opinion of him. Avery has matured since our initial meeting, and he's ready for a change. That change is coming through a marriage of convenience, but it really ends up being more than that. This faux relationship he is creating with Lena is changing everything. He's realizing that the happiness his friends have found in their relationships is something he is craving. Lena is finding that she wants this as well. There's just a slight issue they need to work through, and of course there is miscommunication as well.
Witnessing these two grown and evolve in their relationship was nice to see. They worked through the hiccups, and were determined to find their happily ever after together. Loved the connection to Spain that Gina worked into the story, as it ties into her real life a bit.
Which Coyote player is next for their happily ever after? I don't know for certain, but I look forward to finding out.

Rank and file marriage of convenience story. It was silly and completely unbelievable, but I still read along and enjoyed this very low angst story.
The hero Aubrey is a top NFL team captain. His family love him, but he doesn't feel that they really take him seriously. He sees his friends, team mates and family members getting married and settling down, and starts to feel a little melancholy about his own life's direction.
The heroine Valentina is an academic. She's Spanish, but currently living in the U.S. to partake in a prestigious research project in her area of expertise (ornithology). She discovers that due to a paperwork error her visa has not been extended, ruining her ability to finish this once in a lifetime study opportunity.
The MCs meet through mutual friends and Aubrey offers a marriage of convenience to help Valentina get her visa. There is a quick-ish slow-burn romance that has some stop-stsrt moments as Valentina continues second-guess her decision. This part was a little annoying, but not completely unrealistic, I guess.
This book contains descriptive love scenes.

Avery might have been a stubborn playboy but he realized what it cost him in regard to his reputation. Now he wants to fix it while helping out a ‘new friend’ aka soon to be wife.
Valentina is sweet, smart, quirky and blunt. She’s the black cat of her family but wanted to follow her passion. Avery only ever treated her as someone he admired. She might love studying birds, but Avery encouraged her every step of the way.
I really liked seeing their relationship as a couple grow but also individually. The marriage started off as convenience but grew to real love. They both grew confidence in themselves which made their bond stronger. I loved seeing some old friends from previous books as well.

I loved everything about Avery Callaway and Valentina (Lena) Garcia’s journey in Bound and Blitzed (Knoxville Coyotes Football #4). From the moment I picked this book up I knew it was a special read but it was only when the characters and their story was still with me long after the final word was read did I realise just how special this book is.

Avery was the quarterback for the Coyotes, and felt Valentina was stalking him and was he embarrassed when she told him why she was around him. I was glad to see the two start talking and become friends. Valentina was from Spain where family usually comes first. She was in Tennessee on a student visa when her father interfered and she was going to have to go back to Spain. It was crazy that she was in essence studying birds, and wanted to stay with this renowned professor. Things happened and Avery and Valentina marry so she can stay and study in Tennessee. It was so much fun watching the two fall in love. I loved Avery’s family, but Valentina’s family was hard to get used to. The two have questions about what they did at separate times which broke my heart. I loved how Ms. Azzi brought it all together. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it.

I enjoyed this quick read a lot! The only hiccup for me was an SOB (seemingly obligatory breakup), tho it wasn't really a breakup. Still, it was SO. Thankfully, it didn't last very long & the rest of the story fit together well & had lots of awesomeness! 😁
I love Avery & Valentina. They work really well together, even though they don't seem to have anything in common. But they both have a love for their families, dedication to their careers, and hearts full of kindness & compassion. These things make their "fake" marriage never feel fake.
From the beginning, they're honest with each other & have so much fun together! The issues that come up are dealt with quickly & by offering mutual support. (Which is why that one part felt SO instead of flowing like the rest of the story for me!)

I enjoyed this quick read a lot! The only hiccup for me was an SOB (seemingly obligatory breakup), tho it wasn't really a breakup. Still, it was SO. Thankfully, it didn't last very long & the rest of the story fit together well & had lots of awesomeness! 😁
I love Avery & Valentina. They work really well together, even though they don't seem to have anything in common. But they both have a love for their families, dedication to their careers, and hearts full of kindness & compassion. These things make their "fake" marriage never feel fake.
From the beginning, they're honest with each other & have so much fun together! The issues that come up are dealt with quickly & by offering mutual support. (Which is why that one part felt SO instead of flowing like the rest of the story for me!)
I love the supporting characters & banter & pacing!!

I recently finished Bound and Blitzed, and I have to say, it was quite the ride! As part of the Knoxville Coyotes series, this book beautifully blends romance, sports, and personal growth, making it a captivating read.
One of the things I loved most about this book is the character development. Avery's transformation from a "spoiled manchild" to someone who genuinely grows and matures is portrayed so well. I found myself rooting for him as he navigates his journey toward self-discovery and love. Valentina is a fantastic counterpart to Avery; she faces her own challenges and adds depth to their relationship. Their chemistry is electric, and the tension between them kept me turning the pages.
Azzi does an excellent job of weaving in themes of forbidden love and personal growth throughout the story. The romance unfolds against the backdrop of football culture, which adds an exciting layer to their connection. I appreciated how the author explored family dynamics and the pressures that come with dating an athlete. It made the story feel more relatable and grounded.
Gina Azzi's writing style is engaging and easy to follow. I found myself immersed in the world she created, thanks to her crisp dialogue and well-paced storytelling. The mix of humor with serious moments provided a well-rounded reading experience that kept me entertained.

Thoroughly enjoyable
Avery and Valentina's story disappeared far too quickly. It was full of family, drama, as well as fun and flirty moments.
I adored Valentina's relationship with her Abuelita and the way she learned to stand up for herself when it came to her family.
I liked that Avery supported her "quirky" interests and that they both took the time to learn to carve out moments for each other.
Avery said it wouldn't always be rainbows and magic—and he was right—but somehow, they managed to give each other exactly what they needed.
The bonus scene was fabulous, it was a great addition and a nice little prelude for what is to come.
