A different point of view.
This author has introduced issues that I have heard about before but no one ever addressed the issue head on. I like the fact that Ania is seeing all of these different types of people and when she let's her guard down without realizing she has accepted these people . Generally it is when she encounters an unfair situation. Even though she hears in her head what her mother would say, she is seeing the other person's side.

This book was from an interesting point of view on WWII. I enjoyed reading it , but there were a lot of proofing errors.

I wanted to give this book a 1 star because I really hated the character of Ania. With her naive attitude, I was surprised she wasn’t killed for her arrogant “I’m not Jewish” insistence. Her parents failed her miserably, mom in not telling the kids why she left the faith, and then gently explaining that the Germans now called them Jewish, and dad for not insisting Ania go off with her sister. Ania was just sooo annoying and mean and rude to her neighbors and just frustrated me so much. I decided to add two stars though because the author did do a great job of portraying her as a horrible person. This is the first time in while I have not rooted for the main character and just hated her. I am starting the second book and hope her attitude improves.

The book is written beautifully about a hard time for Jewish people. The power of a promise made from one sister to protect the other in times of war. The change the heroine goes through is amazing. The loved the way Dana has written about the horror of the holocaust. Already have read the books twice in Hebrew now I’m going to read it in English. Love from Israel ❤️

I have difficulty with this as the one character that is everywhere is so silly. The world is crumbling around her and she remains silly. I think more of the female than stupidity.

Twins of War
This is a powerful read about the cruelest time in our history. It’s about two sisters who have a strong bond and what they endured during the Nazi regime. I could not put it down and ready to dive into book 2 of this series. I highly recommend it.

Same as the resistance Lily another beautiful love story occurring during the horrific time of WW2 and the holocaust, providing history lesson with a big sense of hope. Another masterpiece by Dana!
