This book isn’t your typical fairy tale compilation. Sure, it has a couple of your favorites (though they’re the Grimm versions) but it also includes snippets of long stories such as Wizard of Oz, The Hobbit, Alice in Wonderland, and others.

There are also some stories that I’ve never heard of that have such a wonderful moral. Not to mention the beautiful illustrations!

Warning: there are some non-PC moments. I wouldn’t avoid those stories though. They’re a great way to have a discussion with your littles about history, appropriate alternatives, and respect for others.

All-in-all a great bedtime story option that I know we have enjoyed.

A wonderful collection of classic children’s literature. I read this book aloud to my boys and we thoroughly enjoyed every story. Featuring authors such as Rudyard Kipling, A. A. Milne, Charles Dickens, and J. R. R. Tolkien; there was not a dull moment in all 500+ pages. The only thing I would have liked better would be if all of the stories were more uniform in length. Still, I had so much fun reading this book, and found several stories to add to our future reading list in their entirety. We’ll certainly be revisiting some of these short stories soon as well!
