About the author

I once was a naïve and trusting person who believed people had pure hearts and good intentions. That all changed the day my ex-husband’s demented character was finally revealed to me. How I wish I had known the red flags of danger to look for in the man I was giving my heart to. Soon after the truth was evident, I leaned on my faith to help save me and my daughter from more harm in the darkest chapters of our lives.

Being married to a sociopath quickly unraveled my heart, yet Jesus healed me. I can finally enjoy laughing again. Spending quality time with friends and family in my inner circle brings me joy, something I thought I’d lost in the worst of the ordeal. You can now find me outside in the sunshine, gardening, crafting, cooking, and playing games.

It has been a fifteen-year journey to write my story, something God put on my heart long ago to do. I pray that it helps others protect themselves and those they love from the pain my daughter and I endured.

The incredible story of a woman relying on Jesus and her community during the most difficult time and situation I could’ve ever imagined. The story is heartbreaking and raw, but her love for Jesus truly shines through. I hope people read this incredible book and are not only educated, but find Jesus through it.

Unfortunately, this is a true story that the author lived through. Fortunately, Becca's strong faith and belief in God enabled her to get through this ordeal and away from this horrible man and his cunning deceptions.
The book describes the love that Becca developed with Bruce and goes into detail about his manipulation and deceit, her financial ruin, and the effects this had on her and her daughter.
I kept waiting for Bruce to come around and to show some remorse, and apologize to her, however that is not within the soul of a sociopath. It was heartbreaking to read about all the ways that he used and abused her and her helplessness to stop it.
This is a cautionary tale that everyone should read. It will strengthen your belief in God and in yourself. Have tissues ready.

Wow! This book had me crying tears of heartache for Becca and her daughter. The whole book I kept waiting for some bit of redemption of Bruce (even a little glimmer). But as a true sociopath, there was no redeeming qualities to be found. I can only hope God will work a miracle in his life, before it is too late. It was great that through prayer and quiet strength Becca and her daughter pulled through the trauma and were stronger for it. Thanks be to God!

This is an incredible true story about a woman and her daughter who were financially ruined by her husband. The terrible trials and tribulations that she went through to try to bring him to justice, and get back her financial health, are incredible. This is a cautionary tale about trusting the wrong person and how one woman figured out what was happening and deepened her faith through the ordeal.

This true story by the author was very eye opening. I have heard about sociopaths, but not as intense as this was. I am so happy Becca had faith in God throughout the whole ordeal, and kept that faith. I believe everyone should read this story.

Inspirational

It was amazing and inspirational how Becca's faith helped her survive all that she went through. I needed this book right now. I have been struggling with some things in my life but nothing like all that she went through. She reminded me of the need to have faith.Anyone experiencing any kind of struggle should definitely read this. Wow!

A true story written by the author who lived it. It's a book about the sociopath she married, without knowing who he was or what he's capable of. What she and her daughter endured by his lies, how they survived every ordeal thrown at them through their faith in Jesus. If it wasn't for their faith, they might not have survived the way their lives were destroyed by someone they loved and believed loved them too. This book made me realize again, that without faith and believing in the love of Jesus, that I won't be able to get through every day like I do. Sometimes we forget that He is always in control.
I enjoyed reading the book and know that I'll remember it for a long time. I recommend the book to readers who love clean Christian religion books.
