Christmas Souls is Book 2 of the Woodland Falls Christmas series. It's a short and steamy, slow-burn, OTT, second-chance, Christmas romance. Maddie left town 5 years ago to pursue her dreams of fame. Now, she is back to restore her Grandma's house and claim her inheritance. But she's hiding some secrets from NY. Michael is a hunky contractor and the love of her life that she left behind. Now, he's working on her house and working his way back into her heart. Can he forgive her? Can she trust him when her secrets come finding her? This was another sweet and steamy romance from Fiona. The chemistry was hot, and after secrets are revealed and the drama is resolved, we got our happy ending. I loved it.

When Mandy doesn't meet the mayor's deadline and the mayor shows up; Michael punches him repeatedly. What will happen to Michael or will the mayor win? What does the judge have to say when the case is heard? Who wins in the end?.

This is book two in the series, and although I didn’t like it quite as much as book one, it’s still good. I thought that some of the storyline was a bit of a stretch, to be honest, and that if it was going to go in that direction the author should have leaned into it and made the whole story OTT. But the hometown was lovely and I did find the characters likable, if not unique. What I really liked was the energy between the main characters. They had a synergy that speaks of a couple that is well suited and whose relationship is likely to last. They even had the give and take in the bedroom that speaks of absolute compatibility and gives the book a special kind of heat.

This was a nice, spicy, and addictive quick read, so much so, that I had trouble putting it down and lost quite a bit of sleep. The slow-burn, as usual, was agonizing, but given the nature of the story, you couldn't really get around it. When Michael finally takes the log to the beaver it's well worth the wait, earning a 4/5 on my spice scale. Fiona really does a nice job on these novellas and I can't wait to read the next installment in the series.

Very Forgiving MMC

The way the prologue occurred even had me annoyed with the FMC. Michael’s initial reaction imo was warranted. She gave no explanation or apology when she returned. He is very forgiving even after he found out she had hidden more from him. I didn’t really buy the resolve, but it’s a novella so I’m not sure that could have been achieved in a way to satisfy me. The spicy was not anything amazing. Justin’s story definitely seems it will be more interesting though so I’m looking forward to continuing.

Running away for a chance at stardom..how that work out? Well she’s back with a tail between her legs .michael isn’t complaining . He’s the one doing the entertaining. The inheritance might help with him too as he’s working his wood and doing jobs about the house ,repairs and such. Maybe they can repair the relationship as much . The slow burn is coming and it’s an heaven sent second chance and it’s great writing , good characters . I enjoyed it …

Wowsa this book is a fantastic and will definitely have you hooked from the beginning until the end. When Mandy shows up back in town how will the man she's ever loved handle it? Michael was destroyed when Mandy the love of his life up and left him for new York .she's back but can they find away to be civil or will someone from her past try to destroy them? Great Book!.

New York Secrets

It was a suspenseful read as her life in New York and the secrets revealed provided some entertainment.

This novella is an enjoyable love story starring a handyman and an aspiring actress. New York Mandy was a failure. No Broadway or even off, off Broadway dancing or acting jobs. Now she owes lots of money she's unable to repay. Michael has loved her for many years. Now she's back and he wants her in his life. This is an entertaining holiday second chance, short story, romance book that grabs your attention and holds it from beginning to end. The storyline is intriguing and dramatic as the elements unfold. The characters are well written with steamy chemistry together. I enjoyed this book.

For a bit, I wasn't sure if Michael & Mandy would figure things out, but I'm so glad they did! (Since this is a HEA book, I'm hoping I didn't spoil the story for anyone. I'd definitely recommend reading the book so you can see how things went!).
