Becoming an Empowered Survivor: You, Too, Can Heal from Trauma and Abuse

Rate this book
Are you ready to breathe again—breaking through the heart-constraining bind of your trauma and abuse?

Do you feel underwater, drowning in a sea of juxtapositions in your life—darkness versus light, secrets versus truth, suffering versus contentment, and surviving versus thriving? What if you could break through the water’s surface and emerge into a new life, leaving the depth and darkness of your past experiences as you transform and soar into your future?

As a survivor of trauma and abuse who has taken the hero’s journey to emerge anew, Elizabeth M. Jones believes that to HEAL is to hope, evolve, and love—as action words. Becoming an Empowered Survivor details her journey, told as a tale of courage and resilience to inspire other survivors to break free of their past. With raw authenticity, she shares about her trauma and abuse, living in unhealthy survivorship for years, and the moment she arrived at her water’s surface. Her painful but exquisite work to HEAL has left her thriving. And now, her mission is to help others become Empowered Survivors.

I did not like this book at all. I did not follow the author’s personal story or the lessons she was trying to transmit. I also do not relate to her strong sense of spirituality, so I found the whole thing to be rather useless.
