Sloane Harrison has big plans to open an art gallery that promotes LGBTQ+ artists, provides financial support to the community, and turns a profit. The only problem is her start-up finances. Turns out, getting a business loan fresh out of college is harder than she expected, especially for an untested business model.
Lavi Cohen moved back to Boston after spending four years tending to her dying father. Now, she’s living her dream of running a non-profit to help immigrants in Boston assimilate and seek citizenship and is excited to reconnect with her best friend, Adrian. Even though the dating scene in Boston is great, given what she witnessed her mother go through with her father’s death, and Lavi’s own uncertain future, the last thing she wants is a relationship.
When Lavi and Sloane cross paths, the physical attraction is overwhelming. Luckily, they both know it’s just about the sex. But after Sloane’s loan falls through, Lavi makes an outlandish proposal to try and Get married, but keep it just sexual; no falling in love. What should be an ideal arrangement becomes a problem when Sloane realizes she can’t uphold her end of the bargain and Lavi’s fear of having her father’s genetic, terminal illness prevents her from letting Sloane in.
Neither one of them expected a wife at this point in their lives, but it’s what they both have now. So, what happens when the agreed upon deadline for their annulment approaches and their feelings are anything but fake?
Dani is an author of spicy romance novels with heart and emotionally intelligent characters. She aims to write characters who understand themselves, apologize when they do something wrong, generally navigate life's challenges without having unnecessary emotional drama, and have great sex.
First, I would like to thank the author and Grey's Promotions for providing me with a free advanced review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
“My eyes welled with tears and we stood there, breathing the same oxygen, neither of us willing to move. The crack in my heart penetrated deeper because I knew her admission didn’t change a damn thing.” (p. 231)
Spice Level: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Tropes: sapphic romance, LGBT, brother’s best friend/best friend’s sister, instalust, marriage of convenience, consensual nonmonogamy, menage, dom/sub/switch, fear of commitment
An extra spicy sapphic marriage-of-convenience romance
It took everything in Lavi to walk away from Sloane when they first met, not wanting to get involved with someone who was just eighteen and crashing a college party. Now, a few years later, Lavi has reconnected with her best friend, Adrian, only to discover that Sloane is his younger sister. Neither expects this fling to turn into a relationship, but when Lavi offers a marriage of convenience in order to help Sloane gain access to her trust fund, things get complicated. Lavi has vowed never to be in a relationship with anyone after witnessing her mother’s grief over her father’s death, so why is it so hard to let Sloane build a wall between them–a wall she wanted in the first place?
After reading Unexpected Proof, I was so excited to read Lavi and Sloane’s story in Unexpected Offer. As side characters, they had been radiant, so I knew their love story would be too. While it takes the series back in time, the fact that everything occurs right after Adrian has split from his ex-wife means there is very little overlap. Unexpected Offer is spicier than the first book, starting with instalust but transforming into something deep and meaningful. I’m excited to begin reading the conclusion of the series!
After reading book 1 in this series, I was already half in love with Sloane and Lavi, and totally into the author's writings! Reading another book by her only proved me right in being so!😍
I really loved the book! Even more so because it was my first actual FF romance (I've come across FF couples - one that I remember is from The Priory of the Orange Tree, but that was fantasy, not exactly romance!) and it did not disappoint me! I enjoyed getting to know Adrian's sister and bestie in new light - they're two really awesome women, so passionate and kind and smart and witty! Sloane especially is a package - she's cute when she's shy! And Lavi a perfect partner! I love her friendship with Adrian!
After Proof and Offer, can't wait to see them all together again in Unexpected Moments!😍 Until then, read this one! Highly recommended!💕

I really liked Sloane and Lavi's book. I wanted to know their story since Unexpected Proof. I thought that both FMCs were strong, loveable and funny. I also really liked their story and the pacing of it ! Also, I thought that the characters grew throughout the story and that they completed each other well. I totally recommend it, especially if you love spicy, LGBTQ+ and the marriage of convenience trope 😇.
Oh emmm geee!!!! Sloane and Lavi! Those sex scenes! I cannot begin to explain exactly how emotional this book made me. I felt all of Sloane's feelings like they were my own when it came to how she felt about Lavi. I understood Lavi's feelings on relationships and why she was afraid to be in one, but I did not agree with the pain she was causing both herself and Sloane. I took a week and a half to finish the last 12% of the book because it was that good and I did not want to see the book end! Dani Grimes did it again. She made me fall more in love with Sloane and Lavi since the first book. I also like how both Lavi and Sloane are there for Adrian when it comes to his divorce with Rebecca since it is based around the time he is dealing with his divorce. I also love how when Lavi gets possessive and protective of Sloane when she gets hurt and tries to make Lavi see that she really is in love with her.
This book made me sob! I’ve delved into MM romances and have even explored Reverse Harems but I’m excited to say the this was my first FF romance. And I couldn’t more excited to see where the rest of the series goes. I loved Sloane in the first book and when I found out she was the FMC in book two I was giddy with joy! Hers and Lavi’s story is full of tension and add in the marriage of convenience its even more compelling. Especially in today climate. And the smut…🥵🥵🥵. I needed a fan after those scenes. I don’t want to spoil anything but definitely read this series if you love emotionally in depth characters and beautiful story lines.
I adored Sloane and Lavi in Unexpected Proof Book #1 of the author’s Boston series and was excited to read about how their relationship happened. These a two confident, funny, and passionate characters with a vibrancy that leaps off the page.
I don’t normally read FF romance books, so the sex scenes were a tad too much for me personally, but they completely fit the relationship between Sloane and Lavi. These two definitely have a passionate and intense relationship.
I received a free ARC from the author and Grey’s PR; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.
Unexpected Offer by is the perfect story if you love that trope. A sexy second but really first chance romance featuring a best friend's sister sapphic romance. You'll want to both yell at the main characters for being ridiculous and cheer them on to keep going. Featuring two extremely strong and confident main characters that make this sapphic romance a joy to read.
I loved reading Sloane and Lavi’s story in Unexpected Offer after seeing them in book 1. Sloane was such a fun character in this series and I really enjoyed the witty dialogue/banter between Sloane and Lavi as well as with Aiden and Sutton. I found myself chuckling as I was reading. I also enjoyed the friendship between Aiden and Lavi. And the sexy times between Sloane and Lavi were super hot. Another great addition in Dani Grimes’ Boston series and looking forward to book 3.
I loved Sloane & Lavi while reading Unexpected Proof so I couldn’t wait to read their story. Thankfully, they lived up to my expectations 🙌🏻 They had me laughing at some of their antics but overall their relationship was so sweet. I love this series. I love these characters and I can’t wait for the third instalment! Let’s see what else is in store for Adrian, Sutton, Sloane & Lavi 🩷🩷
ARC Review I loved Sloane and Lavi in book one so I was excited to read their story. These two are perfect for each other. Sloane's sassiness was so much fun and I loved Lavi's sweet but possessive side. Their chemistry was through the roof. Sloane helped Lavi learn to open up and love, she was so supportive. They both grew and learned to be open and honest with each other.
I really enjoyed the story, the only thing get would have made it better is if it was book 1 instead of 2. Lavi and Sloane are great as a couple and I loved them from the first book, but already knowing some of the things they do from that book wasn't as fun in this book. I prefer more if a surprise.
Unexpected Offer by Dani Grimes is Sloane and Lavi's story and it's so lovable, spicy and sweet love story. I Really loved the characters and the pace of the story line was perfect.
I would highly recommend all readers to read both the stories in Boston series. They are really good.
