This book has such promise, and I was excited to read it, based on the blurb. But I felt like this book went on forever, and went nowhere. It did start out pretty decent, but then it just sat there. I'm hard pressed at this point to even remember what I read.

Liam... hot and cold. Indecisive. Liam was *not* a dominant man, he was petty and spoiled and felt like he was entitled. He would punish Norah in the name of being her "Master", but wouldn't explain what it was she'd done wrong. He reminded me of a spoiled school boy who stomped his feet when he didn't get his way.

Liam was clueless. Didn't know that it was a sex slave operation, didn't know the money when to funding said operation, (thought it went to "chairty"? Really?), didn't know that the girls were kidnapped.. so really what DID Liam know? Once he found out that Norah was kidnapped, the fine upstanding citizen that he was, he kept her.

The only thing I can really say about Norah is that she was annoying. She was just as bad as Liam, running hot and cold all the time. Yup, that's about it. She was annoying.

I don't normally bring up grammar, so if I do, you'll know that it was noticeable, enough so that it really detracted from the story for me. I understand this is a self publish, which is great, but please, use some beta readers in the future.

I want to explain why the 2 stars.
The story was okay. It started out strongly and I thought 'WOOHOO' a great kidnap, sold for slave story. The first 35-40% of the book I really enjoyed.
Then......
The hero, Liam, got too mushy for me. He went from jackass to sweet virtually straight away.
The heroine, Norah, was okay! She pushed his buttons but she was a bit annoying with her internal struggles.
But......
The editing, really not great. The flow, again not great.
The story was twin POV, hers was 1st person he's was 3rd person. Unfortunately this didnt work well, because I found parts of his POV, had Norah talking and it switched to her POV half way through his. So for that reason I had to go back and reread sections because I didn't know who was supposed to be talking.
For me, the story had a good dark premise, to start with. But unfortunately it lost its way.
This is also a cliff hanger, which ordinarily I LOVE! I really would love to read the second book if the issues have been addressed.
Good luck to the author, I really do believe that she could turn this into an awesome read.

HAS POTENTIAL

I have to say straight away that there is a complete lack of editing in this book. But having seen the reviews elsewhere which have pointed out the errors, I'm sure that the author has got the message. At least I hope she has as it's an issue that needs to be dealt with.

As to the story, I think it's a good idea. The author has created characters that are believeable IMO. Liam in particular is a mass of contradictions. I went from hating him one minute to loving him the next. Norah was what I would call a steady girl her personality was mostly calm, considering her ordeal. Norah's mother an ex show girl has never been able to hold onto a man, her current boyfriend is a bit of a sleezebag, he has on more than one occasion tried it on with Norah, there is now a bad vibe between them. Jim the mothers boyfriend is rich and to get Norah out from under has paid for an all expenses trip to Europe for her and her BF Tiffany. But Tiffany backs out at the last moment as she has just got engaged. Undeterred Norah decides to go alone. While in Paris she's kidnapped. Eventually she's put up for auction to the highest bidder.

There were elements of this story that made laugh, possible spoiler here. Liam has never been to a slave auction before. He attends with his friend Will. Liam believes that all of these girls are willing participants! And that the money raised goes to charity. Really! He's that naive? He's a billionaire business man and has been a Dom for a long time, it seems ludicrous to suggest he would not have looked into this auction before attending. He's mortified when he discovers that Norah was kidnapped and not a willing slave. Initially he thinks to help her. But Liam is very self serving he's only worried about what the consequences might be for him. But he soon gets past that and decides to keep Norah. Their relationship made interesting reading.

This is an absorbing read despite all it's flaws. I hope the next book will be better presented.

So I had hoped that this one would hold my interest but so such luck. Liam started out a strong character but quickly turns way too weak for me. =/ I only made it to about 35% through and it just dragged, this book is supposed to be a little over 500 pages and I just felt it was probably 300 pages too long.

Norah (h) is unsuspecting of her mother's husband and tries to enjoy the trip he paid for her to take to Paris. However it isn't long until she finds herself kidnapped and sold in an auction.

Liam (H) has lived in the D/s life style for years and has had his share of subs, he has grown board of it all and decides to go to an auction with a friend of his. We he sees the girl he wants he out bids everyone until she is his. His happiness is short lived when he finds out, just after he winning bid was accepted, that these girls are not her voluntarily. They had all been kidnapped. Now he doesn't know what to do, he can't just return her to the people and ask for his mother eyes back....he would probably get killed. He can't just set her free, she could turn him in to the authorities. Now he is in a really tough spot.

I bought this book for 99 cents and I guess you get what you pay for, although I have read books that are free and other books costing the same, that were phenomenal. What struck me most about this book was that there was absolutely NO editing. The book is written in sentences, no paragraphs, missing or incorrect punctuation, sentences that grammatically make no sense, incorrect usage of similar words; to, too, your, you're, etc. I guess there was no proofreading, either.

The premise of the story was interesting, but in some parts, not believable and in many others, could use more development.

The female character, Norah was likeable and relatable, a young virginal woman, living in Nevada with her mother, 2 younger sisters and her mother's lecherous BF who pays for her to take European vacation, which she accepts, even though he has threatened to go after her younger sisters. Somehow, Norah gets kidnapped and after a month winds up in a sex slave auction and is purchased by Liam for 1.5 million dollars because she looks sad. Liam doesn't realize Norah is the victim of a kidnapping. He is a Dominant who easily tires of his submissives.

Liam realizes quickly what has happened but seems to go through these Jekyl and Hyde phases where he is sweet, compassionate, empathetic.....but then turns physically and emotionally abusive and threatening when he perceives some slight; real or imagined that Norah has supposedly committed.

There is a lot of ping ponging back and forth between them, hard to know if the feelings that have developed between them are real or borne out of circumstance. And, after a while, I wasn't sure if I cared.

As I said the premise was good, but the author needs to have this book independently edited and reformatted. Or, at least do that with the second book before publishing. I might purchase the second one, but only if there is a "look inside" feature and I can see how the story is presented.

I have several issues with the book that contributed to my lukewarm feelings. I have already read book 2 and am not even sure if I will move on to book 3. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Small annoyance ... Liam is English - from London - but spoke with American grammar. The author should have just made him American or even Canadian if she couldn't pull off the British speak. The books had many many many many typos and missing words and misspellings. If I notice bad editing ... you know its pretty bad.

Liam and Norahs running hot and cold with each other all the time was annoying. Liam was reduced to a sniveling wuss and that's not sexy. For a savvy business man who made billions mastering the art of negotiation he didn't come off as very bright ... I know, if it weren't for stupid characters where would the drama come from? But Liam was a spoiled brat who demanded attention and wanted everything his way or he threw a temper tantrum, not a Dominate manly man. My alpha male book boyfriends would so kick Liam out of the Masters Club ... just sayin. Although Lord knows Liam could use a better set of friends than the ones he's got ... Oh and this guys who is so Dark and into the BDSM scene sure managed to turn vanilla for the gal he fell in love with.

Norah ... a mixture of strong and smart but terribly naive. She was also the luckiest Kidnapped woman who was sold as a sex slave that I've ever read about. Not too many women get away with abduction and auction to remain in captivity without getting raped.

Even though this was a Darkly themed book there was still too much light.
I've read a couple of Dark kidnapping type stories and always have trouble understanding the "Romance" but normally I can pass that off as StockHolm Syndrome. With Norah I think she really did fall in love.

It seems like this book took me for ever to complete not because it couldn't completed in a shorter time, but because it was boring. This book is labeled as dark and in my opinion it wasn't. Liam went to an auction with a friend to buy a sex slave he didn't know that the women were kidnapped that was my first problem with this book he thought the money went to charity really. Nora was a 22 year old virgin who was too naïve for me. Liam who said he was a Dom didn't act like one. Nora didn't try to get away or tell someone. So I continued to read this story because ok I did pay for it and I wanted to see what would happen. The book also had a few editing issues. What I did like about this book was that Liam was very patient he did feel that it was wrong and this was the confusing part to me the author should have went with that from the beginning. The book did has some good points. Their is a part two of this book I am not sure if I will be reading it. On a different note I just saw that Amazon has another shorter version of this book at a higher cost.

Perhaps the worst book I have ever read. The entire subject is relatively taboo and it was pretty clear what was happening from the first chapter.

Norah is kidnapped, tortured and sold the highest bidder who is a dom. A dom that didn't know she was kidnapped into sex slavery; didn't know his fellow doms were cruel bastards; didn't know much, apparently.

There are other books out there having to do with the sex trade... and it's a subgenre under the romance category that I haven't been able to wrap my head around at all. Pepper Winters has done a better job at conveying the darkness of this, even if the romance side is far fetched. This author and this book was just awful.

I loved the novel and I am awaiting book number 2 after that cliffhanger im salivating in my wait. If you can get around a few grammatical errors the story is great. I know some were trying to do some 50 shades comparing, but I felt that the story held its own individuality. I loved all the characters, especially Liam, he was sweet but dominant at the same time. all in all great it was a great read looking forward to this series and other works from the author.

I loved this book! I hate how it ended, and having to wait until next year to find out what is going to happen is killing me. I can't wait to read the next book Consumed. I hope that Liam will not leave Norah and come back for her or Norah will go to him and find out a way to be together.

I truly liked this book and I can't wait for the next one to come out. The only thing I didn't care for was the misspelled words the wrong words put in a sentence it got a little tiresome. Definitely needs to be reviewed a little. But well worth the read.

I am a bit of a lose at how to write this review. I thought that this was a dark romance book , although it didn't say that it was, I thought from the title and blurb it was a given. It's not as dark as I thought.
I sort of liked it at the beginning but, it fell a little flat for me in the middle.
Liam was a little over the place running hot and cold which did make him sort of edgy but he wasn't as dominant that I thought he could be.
There were some of his character traits that I was a little unsure of. Like his friend taking him to an action to buy a sex slave and he thought the money went to charity. I thought that was a bit odd. For a guy who is a millionaire, intelligent and has a little power, it was a silly thing to think.
When Norah first meets Liam she is in a way like she was trained to be. She is sometimes defiant but she goes into herself a bit. There is a scene were she tries to kill herself and Liam panics, about himself. When she is recovering he punishes her. This is a guy who thought buying her for 5 million dollars (I think) because she is a virgin went to charity. A stand up guy and not only does he punish her, nearly rapes her, has her chained to the bed and keeps her locked up, gets advice from his lawyer about what to do with her, he keeps her.
When Liam starts to trust Norah, that she wont run away he turns a 180 for me. Norah becomes a bit annoying.
But the end is a good clifhanger.
The beginning part is great the middle part not so good but it's worth reading through to get to the end.
I will read the second book as I need to find out what happened.

I LOVED IT!!!!!

I feel like the back and forth between Liam and Norah was beyond realistic. They had so many secrets and fears that clouded the truly good intentions. Neither of them were willing to face the truth. Both kept making the wrong decisions, that only lead to them both being hurt.

Liam unknowingly buys an illegal slave on the simple fact that she looks sad and would like to change that. Yes after he realized the truth he could have taken a different road but he was in danger. He grew to love this poor slave girl and all her fire. However, the secrets he carry will eventually destroy them.

Norah fears the life she has been given. She has no one in her life except the one who hurt her the most. The man who bought her freedom, or lack thereof. Being alone becomes to much to bear and the only option is to turn to the man she should hate more than life itself. But things changed. He changed. He showed he cared. Made her believe she could be more than just his slave. However, with the confusion and brainwashing, how can she be sure either of their feeling are true??

I really liked this book! The story was very clever and portrayed Stockholm syndrome at its best. The ending was a bit predictable since a lot of authors have been using this type of ending lately to carry over to a series. So it does end with a cliff hanger but for me it was very expected. I would give this book 5 stars for how entertaining this story was but for once I cannot bypass the multiple errors in this book; therefore I give it 4 stars. Words were left out where they were needed, wrong words were used (ex. she used since instead of sense). This type of thing does not normally bother me to where it affects how I rate a book, but this one was so excessive it took away from the story. I'm not exaggerating when I say there are mistakes on almost EVERY page. Hopefully the author will read these reviews and see that it is taking away from how her book is being rated and will make the necessary changes for the second book to come out, which I CANNOT wait to read!!!

Had read the storyline for this book so many times and couldn't wait till I could read them all. Was yeah when I found out that all the books was published. Started reading, and the beginning was very intriguing, exiting and dark. But then the book took a turn, and was then just a regular romance story was me. I did read all three books, but have no intention to read the fourth book, that I later found out, will be published somewhat later.

With that said, the story was still good, exiting and with twists and turns.

I love a good "kidnapped & sold into sex slave" book & this one was good. Norah goes to Europe alone on vacation after graduation, an all expenses paid trip from her Mom's scumbag boyfriend. She gets kidnapped & sold at an auction. Liam is a Dom & he's become bored with his usual subs so his friend talks him into going to the exclusive auction. Liam is a good person & has absolutely no idea that the girls in the auction are not there voluntarily. His world is turned upside down when he buys Norah & then realizes she was kidnapped & forced into the auction.

Hilarious!

This story just dragged on and on - I can't imagine what a struggle it would be to read the other half of this cliffhanger.
It's clear the author has no editor, but it seems she could have at least had a friend proofread it for her. Words are missing, used incorrectly, and she has absolutely no idea how to use an apostrophe. I think they were sprinkled here & there as an afterthought.
The hilarious part? When she spoke of a character's legal whoas. I'm pretty sure the word should have been woes.

a few grammar errors, but I can easily look passed that because the storyline was good. the book Dec had me from the beginning.

I liked the switch of POV' s and the info the author put into the book. the beginning of the story at the auction was painted very well, I felt like I was in the room with him.

all in all I really liked this book. it is a cliffhanger and the next one won't come out until spring of 2014.

The story was actually pretty good the writing was so terrible I almost did not finish it. Grammatically incorrect spelling of things wrong (per say instead of per se) clearly a beginner writer and unedited work.
The story was good tho sexy and very 50 shades-ish ... Ended on a cliffhanger. Not sure if I'll read the sequel, maybe the writing will Have improved from feedback. One can only hope.

A Page Turner!
The story of Liam and Norah is a combination of evil, lust, and love.
The way the story unfolds keeps you on edge as to what is going to happen next.
The details in the book are so vivid, you can really see the rooms, the house and the landscape.
I did not want to put the book down, I could not wait for the 2nd book to come out to find out what happened next.

This is one of those stories that will have you rooting for the villain.

Despite some bad reviews, I really liked this book. The formatting makes it a bit hard to read but overall, it is a story that touches on kidknapping and stockholm syndrome. Liam is a cruel bastard at certain times but you can't help notice he is so conflicted and that is a big part of him acting out on Norah. I hate waiting so long to read the next, this ended with a cliffhanger :)

This is the first time I have read a book by this author. If you like a dark story this is a great read with just enough darkness not to make it cringe worthy... I really enjoyed this series and I hooked on the characters very quickly. I will def look for more reads from this author in the future.

I liked the story and how Liam and Norah's progressed. I didn't think it was necessary to make this into a series. Everything was coming together perfectly at the end but then all of a sudden...he changes his mind. Not really happy about that.

I am a little torn on this one. Some parts, I absolutely loved and was totally submerged in the story. Other spot, I was confused and frustrated by the characters' behavior. Since GR doesn't allow for half stars, I'll round up to 4.

Wow what an emotional but fantastic read! only thing that sucks is that there is a sequel I now have wait for the next book. I loved Norah and fell for Liam even though he makes me crazy. Read this book if you are a aficionado of romance with a part of BDSM.
