She sells sweetness to a whole lot of customers, and she shares sweetness with a whole lot of men, but for a man trying to cut back on sweets, she may still have far more than he can handle.
The last thing Ekon expected to find when the little new chocolate shop opened in town was the short, yet damn-cute Black woman chocolatier Rasheedah running it.
Rasheedah has been making chocolate and running candy businesses for a long time, and swinging even longer. Nothing flips her switch quite like a man who loves her chocolate.
It so happens that Ekon walks in just in time for a tour and a taste test of her latest seasonal chocolate-covered fruits.
The Candy Coated Swinger (13k words) is a Black Polyamory romantic erotica short for mature readers.
I'm Owen! An Oregon-based fan of Black Love romance and erotica. In all my works, you will find wholesome yet very spicy urban, paranormal, fantasy, and SF stories that always involve Black characters and Black Love.
Every story I write will contain my love for all melanin shades and body sizes and advocate for Black male emotional vulnerability, as well as relationships based on open communication and growth. Even if those relationships sometimes come with tails and horns.
After a new chocolate shop opened in town, Ekon got way more sweets than he bargained for after owner and chocolatier Rasheedah took him on a tour of her store and her body.
Owen really has mastered how to highlight the vulnerability of the black man while leaving his masculinity in tack. This was such a cute and spicy story!
Owen will definitely be on my 2025 radar and I look forward to exploring more from his catalog. 3.5✨’s
This was a sexy azz read. Ekon finally decided to stop at the "Sweets" shop and boy did he get sweets and more 😏 I loved all the metaphors and the sexual tension that was created to describe the attraction between Ekon and the "Sweets" shop owner Rasheedah. These two together were magnetic. I also loved how Rasheedah quietly turned him out, while also getting her back broken in the process. This is a quick "sweet" read that I would recommend.
You know that tweet that’s like, “my fetish is saying some incredibly cornball shit and watching a gal speedrun the five stages of grief as she realizes with horror that she still wants to fuck me”?
That.
The narrative voice carries this book. Ekon is funny in a self-depreciating way, charming, sweet, and a little bit in over his head with Rasheedah. His voice is so strong and authentic that I found myself having a good time despite the fact that this book desperately needed another copy-editing pass and my sense that, even though Owen Sieffre clearly adores Black women, he’s never actually talked to a woman about what sex is like for her. He feels like a real person, and one I like.
This could have easily been a 4- or 5-star read if it had been a full romance or erotic novel instead of just a short piece of erotica. None of the kinks in this (very short) book were my thing. In fact, some of the kinks (like ) actively make me uncomfortable, and the dirty talk is “read out loud to your friends” dorky, but Ekon and Rasheedah were just so charming. I wanted to spend more time getting to know them with their clothes on.
I will probably request the sequel.
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my free review copy.
"Wow, talk about a sweet surprise!" I had no idea what to expect when I picked up "The Candy Coated Swinger", but from page one, I was hooked! First, let me just say, this is one of those reads that grabs you because it's not just about the heat—though trust me, there's plenty of it—but also the refreshing male perspective that shines throughout. Honestly, why am I not reading more books like this? Owen Sieffre gave us a sexy, vivid story with "Ekon" that feels fresh and so authentic, and I’m officially a fan of his voice.
Let’s talk about the story itself. Ekon, our reluctant sweets-lover, walks into Rasheedah's candy shop expecting to just cut back on some sweets, but ends up with more than he bargained for—way more! And Rasheedah, oh my goodness, she’s not your average chocolatier. She’s been mixing flavors and stirring up passions for a long time. You could practically taste the chemistry between them, and let me tell you, it was piping hot! The writing is detailed in all the right ways—so immersive that I felt like I was right there with them, tasting those chocolate-covered fruits and indulging in their decadent moments.
What really took me by surprise was how "short but oh-so-sweet" this book is. At only 53 pages, I expected a quick read, but it’s the kind of story that gives you just the right amount of everything—without skimping on the spice. And boy, the spice is real! I give it a solid 4 on the spice meter because it gets steamy, sultry, and will have you reaching for a fan (or maybe some chocolate) to cool down. The chemistry is palpable, and their dynamic is a delicious mix of playful and provocative.
For a first-time reader of Owen Sieffre’s work, I’m beyond impressed. His writing style flows beautifully, and he knows how to write a scene that sizzles without going over the top. If you're into spicy erotica with a touch of humor and a whole lot of heat, this book is a must-read. Rasheedah's world is all about passion and flavor, and Ekon just happens to walk in at the perfect time for a taste test that goes beyond your average chocolate indulgence.
This book is for anyone who loves their romance with a good dash of fire and fun. I’ll definitely be diving into more of Owen’s books to see what other escapades he has in store. So, if you’re in the mood for something "really" spicy and uniquely sweet, "The Candy Coated Swinger" is the treat you didn’t know you needed!
Final Verdict: 5 stars for an unforgettable sweet-and-steamy ride!

“Love is like swallowing hot chocolate before it has cooled off. It takes you by surprise at first, but keeps you warm for a long time.”
Don't you just love chocolate .. I mean chocolate that just melts in your mouth and you just enjoy that decadent taste in your mouth like you don't want it to end well that's what happened to Ekon when he stepped inside of a candy shop owned by the lovely sinful and seductive Rasheedah when entering her candy shop for the first time taking a tour and tasting her latest seasonal chocolate covered fruits.
Cooking was Rasheedah's love language and she was always filled of passion and flavor when it comes to making chocolate while getting to know this very interesting and sinful woman Ekon never experienced an orgasm like never before when tasting chocolate this isn't your typical candy shop even though Rasheedah runs an successful business she loves to entices men who enjoys her chocolate and Ekon was going to be the next victim I should say even though she's married but her and her husband have an open marriage and mutual understandings about having other partners into the bedroom. While reading this short story it was very too short for me it was just getting juicy. Rasheedah gave Ekon the biggest orgasm he never felt with any woman before especially in different sexual positions. The whole story definitely gives I will be your sex slave vibes I must say with a hint of Pandora's Box. Ekon definitely indulge into Rasheedah world of intimacy and sweet temptation and he didn't want it to end
Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get and that was definitely the experience Ekon had with the seductive Rasheedah however there's a sequel to this short story ... and when I say it was short it was very short just giving you a taste of what you are about to experience. Therefore if you're interested in this short story and the sequel is called Trick or Treat Swing My Queen
Ekon decides to go into the new candy store and is surprised to find that Rasheedah not only owns the store, but also makes all the candy and is super hot and up for a bit of fun.
If you are needing a short read that works up your appetite (...for candy of course), then look no further.
