Kael is a poor young man from the streets of Eldruin, but things go from bad to worse when he is brutally murdered by the city's guards. Just when everything seemed lost, he is given a second chance to prove his worth. But in a society that despises the weak and values the oppressors, will he be able to survive once more?
This story is a LitRPG with a not-too-complex ranking and leveling system. I hope you, the reader, enjoy and embark on this adventure alongside Kael.
The plot moves quickly, the premise is interesting, and the main character holds your attention. That being said, I thought the story also had its shortcomings. The only actual emotions that the main character expressed were fear and its synonyms. The MC interacts with a number of characters but never shares any feelings about them. He saves a young woman before he is reborn, but has no feelings about what happens. He encounters a goddess and has no feelings about it. He is saved by the young woman he had saved before his rebirth but has no feelings about it. All in all, I found this strange and off-putting.
The story also lacks depth. The MC interacts with Eric, who becomes a sort of mentor, but the reader is left with little more than a physical description. Their interactions can be summarized by the phrase Eric trains the MC. None of the other characters has meaningful depth and the story stops abruptly in the middle of what seems like just another minor event. I asked myself what??? Did I miss something? Not the best story I have read recently!
