Oli Hart is an omega superstar loved by many. We are a smaller band whose old lead singer was tearing us apart from the inside.
When our label demotes us from our own headlining act to be her band, we are furious... until we meet her.
We want to hate her, but she’s too perfect. Oli is bright, positive, bubbly, and everything we could dream of in an omega. She doesn’t have a malicious bone in her body and has advocated for us from the beginning. It should be perfect.
It didn't take long for the three of us to realize the label might have been doing us a favor with this one. But our fourth packmate? He's closed off and refuses to entertain an omega.
On tour, we catch a wiff of her scent and everything changes. She’s our scent match and three of us are determined to have her.
Between heats, bonds and our instincts, it's going to be an interesting show.
Author's This is a medium to fast-burn, omegaverse, why-choose romance, meaning she doesn’t have to choose. The story changes POVs between the main character and her men. The steaminess factor will go up as the duet goes on, and it is intended for 18+. This is book one of two and will end on a cliffhanger.
This book felt like a Taylor swift fanfic mixed with omegaverse. There were a lot of aspects I liked, but then there were also a lot of parts that were frustrating or didn't flesh out enough for me.
First, I wish the FMC had more backbone. She kept talking about wanting to be a working strong independent omega in the world, but she constantly was adjusting and accommodating to everyone, even when she was upset or not ok with it.
The men were ok, but none were that memorable besides Dex. I wanted more personality from the others.
The ending was meh. A lot was predictable, but also the Trevor thing felt like it came out of nowhere. It felt like a completely 180 from how he was in the beginning.
The book entertained me enough to drag me out of a reading slump, but also not sure if it did enough to get me to read book two.
RH MMMM/Enemies to Lovers/Scent Match - Instalove/Omegaverse/Multi PoV
SYNOPSIS (of Duet): This story is set in Omegaverse where Omegas are considered less than. This is not dystopian and omega’s are not treated particularly badly they are just no considered on a level with Alphas. The FC, Olive (or Oli), is a successful singer which is rare for an Omega as most consider that Omega’s should simply stay at home and are not equipped to work or perform. The story opens with Oli’s usual band having decided to quit so Oli has to find an alternative band as she is just about to go on tour. Enter the “Edge” an all alpha band that just lost their lead singer. As soon as the alphas smell Oli they realise they are scent matches and are all in except for Dex who, due to his history, does not like or want an omega so is initially not very nice. The story arc covers the development of the alpha/omega relationship and how Dex comes around amidst a backdrop of someone coming after Oli and trying to hurt her. There is a HEA with a slight cliffhanger at the end of Book 1.
Heat Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/🍆🍆🍆🍆 Whilst Book 1 starts with a slow burn the pace picks up and by Book 2 about 60% of the Book is page after page of sex. Whilst the scenes are hot and steamy with individual and group scenes there were too many and they went on for too long (IMO).
The overall story is tooth decayingly sweet with insta attraction/love. Even the grumpy alpha who does not initially like Oli is not exactly nasty to her so there is no real bullying or any need for a redemption arc (although the author tries to create one). The author introduces some drama by way of the previous lead singer of the Edge’s band trash talking them and Oli and someone is trying to hurt her but it is all low level and there is no real angst or mystery and very limited drama and violence. In fact the story felt half hearted at best and by Book 2 the author was fully committed to just writing page after page of sex. Personally I like some depth and story to my romance and not just over the top, repetitive sex scenes so this did not work for me at all. I’m just glad I didn’t pay for this Duet but got it through KU.
There’s no development of the characters or any backstory (save a very small amount relating to Dex) which means the characters are two dimensional and shallow. I found Oli over the top nice and none of the alphas particularly individual so felt no connection or engagement with the characters or the story. The villains of the story are also very cardboard cut out and almost caricatures going from nothing to attempted murder (for no real reason) in less than 60 seconds! There are story gaps – what happened to the reporter that had it in for the Edge and why did she have it in for the Edge? Why did Trevor suddenly do a 180? - as well as random characters parachuted with little reasoning just to seemingly set up a next series. This all added to the feeling that the author was not really committed to writing a story but felt she couldn’t just write pages and pages of sex without some connectivity!
If you are looking for superficial and an excuse for lengthy, boring sex scenes then this is the Duet for you. If you are looking for any real romance, depth or story then give this a pass.
A sunny omega, a moody band, and a whole lot of knotty tension... but does it rock?
If you’re in the mood for a sweet, slightly spicy omegaverse with rockstar flair and a glowing ball of sunshine for a protagonist, Knot My Band by D.M. Page might just hit the right note for you.
The premise is promising: Olive is our bubbly, endlessly kind-hearted omega rockstar the kind of heroine who tries to find the good in everyone, even when they absolutely don’t deserve it. She's thrust into the orbit of a band of alpha bandmates, each with their own distinct (or trying to be distinct) personality: protective Jack, laid back jokester Chase, stoic sweetheart Aiden (my personal fave swoon), and the ultimate grump Dax, who seems allergic to joy but maybe just needs a hug. Or a mate. Or both.
The story opens with a sprinkle of enemies-to-lovers tension, but that fizzles almost immediately. What follows is a whirlwind of relationship dynamics that could’ve been deliciously messy, but instead lean more toward fluffy and predictable.
While Olive is undeniably likable, I found myself wishing she had more bite to match all her brightness. She speaks of being a strong, independent omega but rarely stands her ground when it counts. It made her feel a bit too accommodating, especially in moments where a little resistance would have added depth. And while each of the men has a role to play in her journey, only Aiden and Dax leave any real impression the rest blur together in a haze of generic Alpha energy.
Now let’s talk plot. While the vibes are soft and steamy, the actual storytelling feels thin. Some character arcs, like Trevor’s abrupt villain turn, come out of left field with no real buildup. Side plots like the mysterious reporter vanish without resolution. And certain characters feel like they’re dropped in just to tease a sequel rather than enrich this story.
Ultimately, Knot My Band is a light, feel good omegaverse romp with a lovable lead and a found family setup that could have delivered more punch. If you're here for the low stakes drama and soft poly romance, you'll probably enjoy it. If you're craving character development, cohesive world building, or deeper emotional stakes… you might find yourself flipping pages waiting for something more.
Still, Aiden owns my heart. That man deserves a solo.
(1) I have no desire to read a Taylor swift Omegaverse fanfiction story. That's basically what this is so far. I have nothing against her and i even like some of her music, but I like my fiction to be works of fiction. I do not want my real world escapes to be constantly reminded of the real world or another story. It takes me out of the story.
(2) I am really tired of asshole love interests who are assholes to the fmc for no reason beyond they cannot control their own emotions and actions.
I don't care what backstory the author creates to justify this but actions speak louder than words. There is no personal reason or professional reason to disrespect her like that on a first professional meeting just because you're bum hurt that your band mate f'ed up and now you have no choice in your next career move if you still want said career.
Look, I will never fault people for their thoughts or their grumbles to themselves when they're alone. We all do it, I get it. We all have gut reactions and then need to process them. But lashing out or disrespecting someone else says everything I need to know about your character and i'm not rooting for you in a romance. Get therapy and grow up.
If neither of those two things bother you, then try this book. The brief view i got of the rest of the characters and world itself wasn't bad. And while the writing is not top notch, it is not bad and could have been entertaining if I could get into the story.
I loved this story so much that I can't wait to jump into part 2.
Our fmc is Olive. She is our rockstar omega that is just so happy and positive and such a ray of sunshine. She always tries to see the best in everyone even though there are some that don't deserve it.
Our mmc's are Jack, our Pack Alpha, Chase, Aiden, and Dax. Jack is extremely protective, Chase is so easy going and funny, Aiden is quiet, reserved but always stands up for what he believes in and Dax is a grumpy pants that needs to realise that Olive is the best thing that happened to him. My favourite is hands down Aiden. He's just the sweetest and the best alpha.
The plot was amazing! Olive's previous band unfortunately leaves her in the lurch, and her manager quickly finds a replacement in Jack and his pack. However, not all of them are keen to share the spotlight with Oli. It all comes to a head when they realise they are fated mates, and a certain alpha fights it so hard. When things start to settle and Oli and her guys find their rhythm slowly, it comes crashing around them when someone wants Olive (but not in a good way).
Oli is an omega singer who needs a backup band. The Edge is a band who needs a singer. The label they share decides to put them together. Oli is such a positive person that she decides she's going to try to make the band feel not like a backup band but that they are a solid group. Initially the band isn't so keen on having a new (and omega) singer but everyone (except for one) realizes it's going to work!
Obviously sparks begin to fly (or this wouldn't be a romance) and there's always that ONE grump (in this case, Dax) and there's some drama with the previous lead singer.
I'll be honest, it's not my favorite OV book. It's ok. I'm not sure if I'll move on to book 2 though.
As a ABO Enthusiast i am severely disappointed in this f**king book. you mean to tell me that the s*x is terrible in this. the characters are mediocre at best and the plot is a rinse and repeat until maybe the last 100 pages.
I came here to scratch an itch and ended up developing a rash. This was so bad I've read shitty wattpad fanfiction better than this.
if i could give this book a 0 i would cause that's all my brain cells could handle.
if you want a book with ABO in it. This is the worst book to pick.
Rating-3.5 Heat- 3.5 Tropes- sweet omegaverse, rock star romance, MFMMM, fated mates
This is a cute rock star omegaverse. It begins with an enemies to lovers touch but that fades almost immediately. All but one of the guys are all in. Eventually all of the drama comes from external forces, and there is mystery around just who those forces are. The author does a good job of keeping you guessing the villain’s identity.
Knot My Band is about a pop princess and a band of rocker alphas, thrown together for her tour. Things get sticky when one grumpy alpha doesn't want to be around her. And someone has nefarious intentions towards Oli.
Readers will have to wait until book two to find out who.
This was a fantastic read with a story that I throughly enjoyed. The characters you couldn’t help but fall in love with, well most of them anyway and I loved watching things unfold. The ending has left me wanting more and I can’t wait to dive into the next book. I would recommend giving it a read.
This was good cause it was shit, but I couldn't keep going. I stopped at around 200 pages just cause there was no plot. it was boring, even the sex was boring. im not usually this harsh with my reviews but goddamn I had a little hope for this. I could get past the bad writing style cause I was gonna read this for shits and gigs. but goddamn was I just bored half the time. sorry not sorry
This is an omega story like non other. I loved the pacing and how it was insta love. The characters have depth and each have their own distinct personality. I cannot wait to read part two.
I saw this book advertised on social media and I’m so happy I gave it a try! Oli is a fun FMC to read, her men all have distinct personalities, and the spice is hot!
Great stock with a heck of a cliffhanger! It was fun to see the group dynamics blend and grow. Loved the FMC and her feisty take no crap way of thinking. Can’t wait for the sequel.
great story with a few twists and an even more unexpected cliff hanger
I wasn’t expecting this one! I found it from a TikTok an immediately downloaded it and I’m pleasantly surprised to say is sucked me in almost from page one! Omegaverse fans this one is an excellent read!
I accidentally read the whole thing within one shift at work 😅. It really is a good story. I’ll def start the next book tonight when I get to work. I like the characters but Jesus I wish Dex would get out of his head and get over himself or whatever is going on there.
The story is cute and a good start. I would like some more background on the characters though. We have just surface level stuff but I feel like there’s not a ton known about all of them. And also the amount of times the main characters wink at people is way too much.
I enjoyed this book, but didn't feel the urge to drop everything to devour it quickly like I do with a lot of books. That being said I am looking forward to part two because that cliffhanger just slapped me in the face and now I need to know what happens next.
I liked the book, but I guess I got confused on a few parts where it felt forced. And didn't flow well but everybody has there likes and dislikes. I loved the book the story was good but not enough to read the second one.
Oli Hart is fun, flirty and bubbly, which is the main vibe of this book. There is enough tension and character/relationship development to keep it interesting - ends on a bit of a cliff hanger that had been gently teased throughout the story.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I love it! Jack, Dax, Chase, and Aiden are so protective of her, and I’m so happy for it. I’m glad that chase bonded with her during the mini heat, cause they were able to get to her in time. Trevor and Tommy have to be in on it. Guess, I will find out
The book is really good i love it. I just felt like the cliffhanger placement was weird. Like intern a thought almost idk 🤷🏻♀️ Still love the story and can’t wait To read the next book
I really loved this Omegaverse. It had love and mystery. Always love the ones with the singer and bands. Wished the second book wasn’t so far out to being completed
This book was exactly what I needed. It was a rockstar romance with very little drama. It was a good palette cleaners and I can't wait for the next book!
Why do so many RHs have be ruined by a guy in the group acting like a petulant child to the main character (usually because they hate women after some kind of TRAUMATIC INCIDENT)? Dax. 🤮
