All the Christmas Vibes

Rate this book
'Tis the season for a spontaneous holiday getaway and an unexpected connection. Will the magic of Christmas offer a new chance at love?

Sophie

It’s Christmas, and I can’t help but believe that magic happens around this time of year—or at least, I really hope it does. I’ve always been obsessed with the holidays, and the best part? I can binge-watch all the Hallmark movies I want. Secretly, I might be hoping for my own love story to play out just like in the movies. It’s possible, right? I mean, it happened for my friend.
A girls' trip to Tennessee seems like the perfect way to unwind. Then, I meet Jake—the coach of the Tennessee Wolves. Our connection is instant, and I find myself wanting to get to know him better. But there’s one small issue… I don’t know if he’s available.
That’s when I get my reality check—life isn’t a Hallmark movie, and love? It’s complicated.

Jake
This Christmas feels different, like everything is a bit out of place. I guess that’s what an unexpected breakup will do to you. At least I have my career to keep me focused—coaching a professional hockey team is no walk in the park, but it definitely keeps my mind occupied.
The last thing I need is to get involved with someone new. Then Sophie walks into my life—fun, spontaneous, and not afraid to take chances. They say opposites attract, but I’m not sure if I’m ready for that.
To complicate things even more, my ex has started coming around again. I don’t know if it’s easier to stay with what’s familiar or take a chance on something new.

“Admittedly, I’m waiting for my own Hallmark story to come to life–and as cliche as it sounds, I believe it can happen.”

Sophie is all about the sugary sweet Hallmark movies and an impromptu holiday trip to Tennessee lands her right in the middle of her dream. Sophie’s best friend is going to be moving and working for a hockey team and who better to catch her eye than the amazing and scrumptious coach, Jake. Their connection is electrifying from the very first glance.

I love the way this story builds on the autumn romance, Love in Overtime, yet has its own vibe, and it was so much fun to watch this holiday book develop. Things aren’t always as easy as they seem and there’s a bit of a one-sided love triangle that results from Sophie’s visit to town, but this author does a great job of cultivating a satisfying and smooth tale with relatively few bumps on the road to Hallmark Ever After.

With reliable characters and a stellar plot, this one made me laugh, cringe, swoon, and sigh with happiness. Now, if we could just get the whole hockey team’s stories, please and thank you.

Content: mild romance

Talk about an appropriate title--- this one truly did have 'all the Christmas vibes'... and I loved it! Christmas festivities, hockey AND a chance to catch up with a few characters from Maple Falls (Cooper and Blair from Love in Overtime) --- what could be better than that? When Jake and Sophie meet, their connection is instantaneous. The problem is--- she's only there for a short time and suddenly his ex seems to be wanting to come back into the picture (but don't worry, there is no love triangle vibe here!). There are definitely a few complications they have to work through, but I loved seeing them work through things together. They had such a sweet and easy chemistry that I couldn't get enough of. If you're looking for a quick sweet holiday read, this is definitely one you'll want to add to your TBR.

All the Christmas Vibes is a closed-door romance with kisses only and no language.

I would like to thank the author for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

An enjoyable sweet hockey romance. It was fun to see old characters and meet new ones and a new hockey team. Took a little while to pick up, but was a quick finish.

Melissa Baldwin hit it out of the park with this book. It gave me all the holiday, romantic vibes that I was hoping to get.

I loved that Sophie was from Texas because that’s where I’m from! Sophie was smart, funny, a little quirky, and not afraid to show her fun side. She was such a loyal friend to Blair. I really liked how supportive she was of Blair’s move to Tennessee even though she would be losing her best friend in a way. When Sophie meets Jake, she shows him from the start that she’s knows how to enjoy life and make the most of every opportunity.

Now let’s talk about Jake. Jake has kind of given up on love after the disaster that was his last relationship. He seems to think that hockey will be the only love that he has in life. Although, that thought doesn’t last long. When Jake meets Sophie for the first time, he’s instantly intrigued by her. As much as he tries to focus on hockey, he just can’t get Sophie off his mind. When he finally decides to pursue Sophie, he quickly finds out how unique and special she is. What follows is a whirlwind, holiday romance that neither one is sure they will be able to let go of.

Thank you @mbaldwinauthor for the ARC of this book. All the Christmas Vibes is out now. Go read it!

Oh this is my second fave book by Melissa!

It was lovely and no third act break up (ex girlfriend was annoying and then she was put in her place!)
This will be my second to last Christmas romance book (stay tuned for my review of Taylor Epperson’s book)

Best quotes: He stands up and without a word wraps me in his arms.
I allow myself to melt into his body for what feels like several minutes. I can only imagine what the other customers are thinking. Obviously neither of us care. When we finally let go of our embrace, he moves to pull the chair out for me. I still haven't been able to speak.
"Sophie, I don't know where to start." He pauses and takes a deep breath. "But I know I can't let you leave without telling you how I'm feeling. I don't want to have any regrets."
"Neither do I," I say, my voice barely above a whisper.
"You make me feel like I can be myself," he says, "like I
don't have to be perfect in everything I do or say."
All I can do is nod my head, because for the first time in
my life, I'm not able to put a sentence together.
"Something changed the night we met.

“Real life isn't like the movies-it's complicated that Jake is kind and sincere and he's worth taking the
chance.
"I'm not ready to let you go either," I admit. "I've been struggling with what to do since the night you made me dinner. I've been torn between wanting to spend every second I can with you but also wanting to keep my distance because it would only make it more difficult to leave. I'm sorry I've been all over the place-this all caught me off
guard."

I lean toward her and place my hand on her cheek.
T'm making you a promise right now. We will make this
work."
"I believe you," she says, clearing her throat.
I kiss her softly, again and again, betore pulling her into a tight hug. I breathe in the scent of her hair, wanting to
commit it to memory.
After a few minutes I open the door and get out of the truck to help her with her bags.
Sophie forces a smile through her tears. "Well."
"Well..."
"I’ll text you when I land."
She moves to grab her bags, but I stop her, wrapping her
in my arms and lifting her off the ground.
"I’ll miss you so much," I mumble.
"I’ll miss you more."
We kiss a few more times, and I watch as she walks inside the airport. I take a few deep breaths before I get back in my truck. As I drive home, I replay the last few weeks in my mind. It's too soon to tell Sophie that I'm falling in love with her, but I know it's happening. I believe there's a time and a place for everything.“

🇸🇰 Kniha, v ktorej vianočná atmosféra ožíva a cítiť ju snáď z každej strany.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
🇬🇧 It is a book in which you can feel the Christmas atmosphere from almost every page. The approaching holidays, hockey, new friendships, and a bit of intrigue - you'll find it all in this story. It is a sweet, romantic story of two people who have been very close since the beginning.
While visiting her friend, Sophie meets Jake, the hockey team's coach. Both are opposites, but their connection is almost immediate. But the path to love is not easy, and in addition to complications in the form of an ex-girlfriend who suddenly appears on the scene, there is also one that can completely tear them apart. Distance. It was interesting to watch how they solved problems together in a healthy way, and their chemistry was perfect. But can they overcome everything? And what will happen when Sophie has to return to her hometown and Jake travels with his team?
Can love overcome the distance?
This latest offering from Melissa Baldwin is a spinoff from the Love on Thin Ice series that Melissa worked on with many of her author friends (and some of my other favorites to read). I am ashamed to admit that I am behind on that series, though I'm dying to sink my teeth in it. But I didn't feel like was missing anything in this book having not yet read that series. Melissa's book in that series was about Blair, Sophie's best friend, and her relationship with Cooper, Jake's teammate. Having met them in this book, I can't wait to go back and read their story! And I love that there are enough characters for the story of this hockey team to continue with spinoffs.
Sophie gets to do something I have always wanted to do - takes off on an adventure to Tennessee and ends up finding herself a good man. For someone who loves those cheesy holiday Hallmark movies - I'm referring to both myself and to Sophie - it's the perfect trip and setting!
You can tell that Sophie is comfortable in her life in Texas, but she's also kind of stuck. She's at one of those turning points where she could keep on keeping on, but then if the right path diverges, she can easily choose to follow that one. Jake may be coming off of a long-term relationship, but he has clearly moved on.
Jake's sister Julia is a little intense in the beginning. I did soften toward her as the book went on, thoug, because she's just intense to protect her brother.
And then we have the ex, Traci. OY! I had all of the flashbacks to some catty women in my younger years! Good riddance to her and kudos to Sophie for being able to stay strong.
I admit that the chemistry didn't jump off the page for me the way that I expected it to. But it's there and it burns at a respectable pace. We come to a satisfying stopping point in the story of Sophie and Jake, but you know there's a lot more to come. I'm hoping that this world continues so that we can see what happens!
Spice: no spice
This was such a sweet, and heartwarming Christmas romance. I mean literally think of your favorite Hallmark holiday romance and put it into book form and you’ve got All the Christmas Vibes. Sophie having a bit of an extended Christmas break from work decides to follow her best friend to Tennessee in order to spend some final time together before Blair moved there permanently to be with her hockey player boyfriend. For Sophie she has one thing in mind for this vacation… spend every second she can with her bestie, and soak up the Tennessee Christmas magic. She had zero plans of falling, and falling quickly for the Wolves hockey coach… but maybe that Christmas magic has a something even more special in store for her than Sophie could’ve ever imagined! I have to say I absolutely adored all of the characters (except a few) of this book! I loved Sophie and Blair’s friendship, how they cared for each other, how they supported each other’s dreams and goals, and just how relatable their friendship was overall. That being said nothing compared to just how much I loved Jake and Sophie together, from the instant attraction, the sweet dates, and the Christmas Day ending was all perfection! Not to mention I loved how real their relationship felt, with real communication, real (if tiny) drama, and a real conflict of how they could possibly make long-distance work. But thankfully Melissa Baldwin rewards us with a Happily Ever After that will have you switching on some Hallmark Christmas movies just to relive all those Christmas vibes! So, if you’re looking for a romance with an instant connection, sweet and romantic dates, and amazing characters then I absolutely recommend grabbing this book!
This would make a perfect festive rom-com film. Sophie is happy her friend has finally found her other half. But she's not looking forward to her moving away. Getting an extended Christmas break they both go to Tennessee where Blair will move to. Sophie loved her job as a dental hygienist and looking forward to Christmas at her grandparents ranch. A nice break in Tennessee will be good she isn't one to vacation and although she's single she isn't really expecting to find romance like in her favorite Hallmark Christmas movies. Finally meeting the Wolves hockey team and Connor Blairs boyfriend is exciting to say the least. Jake enjoys these festive meet and greets and seeing Connor more social able, its obvious Blair brings out the best in him. Being Coach after early retirement suits him, he's still involved with the hockey without the injuries. Still getting over his breakup with his ex he realises it was the right thing and should have happened sooner. When Blairs friend Sophie makes him get up and sing and dance to Kelly Clarkson he feels a strange energy and connection with her. Sophie can't believe her attraction to the coach especially as she's only here temporarily. What will happen when Jakes ex reappears. Will Sophie follow her head or her heart. What will Jakes sister say. This is a brilliant story that once you begin it just draws you deeper and deeper. I also loved how Mapel Falls connection came into play, its nice knowing characters back story. Sit back and enjoy a great festive read and I hope there'll be more from the Wolves team to come
Since I have read the Love on Thin Ice series, in which hockey romance series Melissa Baldwin also wrote a novel (with the title: Love in Overtime) I have become a fan of her writing style. So naturally I wanted to read her new novel: All the Christmas Vibes.
In this book Sophie, a great lover of Hallmark movies, travels with her friend Blair to Tennessee, not knowing she will star in her own Hallmark movie.
From the very first I loved this story. Sophie is a great and very likable character. You can feel her enthusiasm for Christmas and all things Hallmark. When she meets Jake, the coach of the hockey team, of which team her friend’s boyfriend is a member, there is an immediate attraction. Jake is a wonderful character as well. Both are a bit hesitant, because Sophie is only there for a short stay. Not to mention there is also the somewhat jealous ex-girlfriend.
I loved how Blair and her boyfriend Cooper star in this book as well. We got to know them from Love in Overtime and when reading All the Christmas Vibes it seemed like this book was a follow up on that, only with a different main character.
The writing style is flowing and the book is so nice and easy to read. I loved the dual POV, this is one of my favourite writing styles. The setting, a small town, is great and you can see it all in your mind.
If you want to read a cute, sweet holiday hockey romance, with two main characters you’ll root for, with a flowing writing style, a good plot, this is the book you want to read. And it would be a perfect movie!
This was a wonderfully romantic Christmas story! If you read Love in Overtime, which was part of the Love on Thin Ice series, then you already know Blair and Cooper. They are the side characters now in All the Christmas Vibes. And, of course, if you haven’t read Love in Overtime, it’s no problem. All the Christmas Vibes is its own brand new story.
Even though Sophie and Jake began to fall for each other quickly, it was completely believable. Neither one saw it coming, with Jake planning to take some time off from relationships after a big breakup and Sophie simply visiting from out of state.
I loved the way Sophie and Jake connected so easily with each other right away. They were both so sweet and it was clear that there was something special between them. They did such a great job of communicating with each other. I appreciated that so much.
I am hoping that there will be many more stories following the Tennessee Wolves hockey team. The author has created a great group of guys on the team and I definitely want to catch up with both Sophie and Jake, as well as Blair and Cooper, in upcoming stories.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
4.5* - Rounded up to 5...
I totally loved how Melissa Baldwin pulled Blair and Cooper from the Love on Thin Ice series into the new book, and brought us a whole range of new hockey players to get attached to. :D Let's hope we see more of Jake and Cooper's team in the future!
Sophie is a gorgeous, hoot of a lady, and has the perfect personality to be friends with Blair. I loved how she was so shamelessly herself, and made friends so easily. She was just the kind of woman Jake needed in his life, and I loved their connection, and the way Sophie helped Jake be more of himself and truly realise how a GOOD relationship should be one that allows you to be YOURSELF, with the correct amount and kind of support and encouragement.
I loved the atmosphere, and the connection between Sophie and Jake, and the interactions with Jake's team. I loved the banter, and enjoyed how Sophie and Jake's relationship was put to the test, and how they moved past those initial trials through good communication and honesty. It was uplifting and encouraging to read!
An absolute blast of a Christmas read, with ALL the Christmas Vibes... ;)
There is nothing better than a girls trip at Christmas, which is why Sophie is traveling from Texas to Tennessee to spend some quality girls' time with her bestie, Blair. What she does not expect is to find herself enjoying a hockey game with Blair. Of course the scenery on the ice is a plus.
Jake is the coach of the Tennessee Wolves hockey team, and he has just gotten out of a long relationship and has no desire to get involved with anyone else. When he sees Sophie with Blair, his heart tells him something different than his head. Now you add in a ex who is suddenly interested in her boyfriend again, and you have the perfect Christmas romance conundrum.
I really enjoyed this book. It was fun to see the crossover of the romantic couple from Love In Overtime. The title of the book was perfect as well since this book will give you all the Christmas vibes. This was a charming Christmas romance filled with great characters.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a hockey story set at Christmas. There are Christmas events and decorations, but there are really only a few Christmas dependent events. I say this since I don't celebrate Christmas and don't typically read this type of story, It is written by Melissa Baldwin though and it's a hockey love story----I just couldn't resist! Jake and Sophie are side characters in another book that now have their own! Jake is the sweet coach just out of a messy relationship. Sophie tags along with her best friend to visit her boyfriend who is on that hockey team. What follows is a very believable whirlwind romance. There are some bumps along the way, but it all works out. The characters are developed in such a way that they feel like friends and the descriptions of everything from outfits to decorations is just perfect without being over the top. This is a great feel good read for this time of year!
Sophie is a lover of Hallmark movies and always wanted to have her own Hallmark story. She saw her friend get one in Tennessee and now she is moving there. Sad that her friend is leaving she decides to take a vacation there to make sure this is the right decision for her. While there she meets Jake who hates Hallmark movies and just got out of a 2-year relationship. Not wanting to get into another relationship so soon he denies their attraction. But with fate keep putting them together they no longer can fight it and start to get to know each other even though Sophie will be leaving. Add this dilemma along with the ex-girlfriend that wants to get back together you get a will they or won’t they get together tale. Love the connection Sophie has with her friends and how she talks with them about her troubles. The honesty Jake has is refreshing. Would have liked to see a further along epilogue to see what the future holds. Such a cute and romantic book.
All the Christmas Vibes is such a fun holiday read! Sophie and Jake’s insta-attraction was well done. It can be so unrealistic in some stories, but this one was just right! Sophie just wants her own love story a la Hallmark. Jake just wants a break from love and wants to focus on his hockey coaching career. They don’t expect to find each other. Especially since Sophie lives in Texas and Jake lives in Tennessee. Then there’s the pesky ex that tries to throw a few wrenches into the developing love story. I really enjoy watching characters get over themselves and stop getting in their own way, which Sophie and Jake have mastered by the end of the story.
I really appreciate Melissa Baldwin’s ability to make this tough situation into such a cute, sweet story. I loved the tie-ins to Love in Overtime with appearances from Blair and Cooper. I can’t wait to see some more of those Tennessee Wolves in action!
Sophie, like me, is a Hallmark Christmas movie lover. After watching her best friend Blair find love in Maple Pines (IYKYK, lol), Sophie is more convinced than ever that her own love story will happen when the time is right.
Sophie heads to Tennessee to visit Blair, who is in the middle of moving, and while she’s there, she meets Jake.
I absolutely loved Sophie and Jake’s connection. Despite Jake’s initial uncertainty about wanting a relationship, he didn’t ignore his feelings for Sophie, which I really appreciated. Their dates were so sweet—especially when he cooked her dinner! And Sophie’s hilarious stress during all the games was such a relatable and funny touch.
That said, I do wish the Traci storyline had wrapped up a bit sooner, and the pacing overall could have been faster. I also would have loved an epilogue set at least a year into the future. Despite those small things, this book was still incredibly enjoyable!
This book really has Christmas vibes, a sweet story with a slow burn and a lot of healthy comunication.
Sophie goes to Tennessee for a two week Christmas vacation to be with her best friend that will move there after she found love with a hockey player.
She meets Jake, the team’s coach, and feels attraction from the beginning.
The plot of this book could be a good Hallmark movie, like the ones that Sophie likes.
I like that there was a dual POV and we watch them fall in love and handle the issue of the distance in a mature way.
There is some drama with Jake’s ex girlfriend, but I liked the way it was handled.
This is a closed door romance with only kissing.
I received an advanced digital copy of the book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Hallmark, just more realistic
I love all the seasonal book releases coming out at the moment, and this one has plenty Christmas-y ‘vibes’ to boost your heart.
Sophie dreamed of a Hallmark movie romance like her best friend, but what she finds is a little more complicated and realistic.
Jake is just out of a long-term relationship and not really ready for something new, plus he never expected Sophie.
This has a great friend support group, a push-pull connection, witty banter and an easy to read storyline. The characters are realistic, believable and easy to get behind. It’s sweet, cute and fun with a little “ex” drama and it ties in with the author’s previous books while remaining a stand-alone story.
The title was the perfect description for Jake and Sophie’s story. This book had all the emotions of those Christmas movies we all hate to love, but I think this might have had a tiny smidgen more angst and drama. With a clingy ex and potential long-distance complications, this pair had the odds stacked against them. However, nothing can stop the magic of the season when there’s love to be spread. I had so much fun with this. I had to read it in a single sitting because there was no way I was putting it down until I was done. And now, I need to go back and read all about the rest of the friends and family that I hadn’t experienced before this. I see some manic one-clicking in my future.
Jake and Sophie
Sophie is a hallmark movie queen and dental hygienist. Her best friend, Blaire, moved to TN for her job and boyfriend. They happen to be the same thing. (Read that book, too.) She takes a spur of the moment trip to TN to spend time with Blair before she officially moves. Little does she know that the coach of the Wolves, Jake, will show up in her life unexpected and change her entire course. Jake is recently out of a long-term relationship with an ex that tries to get back into the picture. He has an overprotective sister that only wants what is best for him. This story gets a HEA with some drama, hockey, and renewed hope that finding love isn’t just in the movies.
I just devoured this book! It is so cute and bonus if you read the love on thin ice series there are some characters from this authors book in that series in this book. Sophie decides to travel with her best friend to Nashville for her holiday vacation. Her friend is moving there to be with her hockey player boyfriend. While there Sophie meets the hockey team members of the Tennessee Wolves and their coach. The coach, Jake, and Sophie have insta feelings. There are some bumps in the road (ex girlfriends and not living in the same city). Can Sophie and Jake overcome these obstacles? Pick up this super sweet book and find out!
This a new to me author, and I will definitely be reading more of her books.
I just loved Sophie and Jake slow burn insta attraction when they met. The holiday setting adds a cozy, magical backdrop with Sophie loving Hallmark movies and wants that movie love story (who doesn’t 😍). I just loved how the Sophie and Jake stayed true to who they really are and knowing what they want. The mix of humor, heart, and holiday spirit makes this a must-read for anyone in the mood for a sweet, uplifting romance. If you’re looking for a story that reminds you that love can come when you least expect it, this is it.
You get all the holiday feels in this closed door rom com.
This is a fantastic book to get you in the mood for the holidays! As the title suggests, it truly had all the Christmas vibes! Although this can be enjoyed as a standalone, you will especially enjoy it if you are familiar Ms. Baldwin's prior books, Love In Overtime featuring the romance between Blair and Cooper, and A Very Complicated Christmas, with appearances by Chase and Lucy. Blair and Cooper continue their relationship as this takes place in Tennessee where Cooper plays for the hockey team, the Tennessee Wolves. Her best friend, Sophie, vacations for her Christmas holiday with her friend Blair, where she meets the team's coach, Jake, who is recovering from a recent break-up. The magic of the season is in full force, and Sophie and Jake get to know each other in this very sweet story, perfect for the Christmas season. I really enjoyed it!
Can be read as a standalone, however for maximum enjoyment it's recommended to read after "Love In Overtime". The characters overlap and the background storylines merge. Her best friend is moving so she decides to go with her over her vacation. Falling for the coach of the hockey team wasn't planned. Her mom warned her about falling for an athlete. How are they going to handle the long distance between their homes? What happens when his ex decides she wants him back? Will their families get along?
Melissa writes the best books with great characters that you will immerse yourself in and want to know what's happening in their lives. Sophie has a great friends circle, but her best friend Blair is moving from Texas to Tennessee and Sophie decides to spend 2 weeks with Blair in her new city during a festive break. This is when Sophie meets Jake and their love story begins, but there is an ex partner with an agenda. Will their love survive?
I received this ARC for an honest review, thank you Melissa Baldwin I really enjoyed this festive book.
I’m so glad Sophie got her own story after meeting her in Blair and Cooper’s book. This was a cute one. Sophie goes to Tennessee with Blair for a little vacation before Christmas and hits it off very unexpectedly with Jake. He’s as equally blindsided by their meeting and they have a great couple of weeks together. There are some interesting twists and bumps along the way, but I enjoyed their journey. I’d really love to see where they are in the future.
A fantastic Christmas sweet romance that I didn’t want to put down. I absolutely love Jake and Sophie, they are so perfect for each other, an instant attraction, so sweet and swoony and fun banter. I liked hearing more about Blair and Cooper and their love story. The tension with his ex was just the right amount. I absolutely adored this fun book! Make me excited for Christmas, you don’t want to miss this book!
I absolutely adore Jake and Sophie’s Christmas Hallmark love story in Mellissa Baldwin’s All the Christmas Vibes! From beginning to end I was thoroughly invested in this fun story and more so when I saw that Blair and Cooper were a couple of the side characters that we see a lot of! I enjoyed the flirty banter and chemistry between Sophie and Jake and all the hockey highlights! I recommend this instalove Christmas rom com with sweet kisses only and a HEA!
Sophie and Jake are adorable together. Their relationship was so easy and they meshed together so well. I love Cooper’s and Blair’s meddling (well as meddling as Cooper can be). I love a whirlwind romance and they brought it! Sophie’s exuberant personality is so contagious and you can’t help but be happy as you read her story.
This is a dual pov, clean romance. It can be read as a stand alone novel but pairs with “Love In Overtime” from the Love On Thin Ice series.
