Hilarious and Gory!!!

I loved Fish Head by Simon McHardy and Sean Hawker.
The story follows a group of friends who go on a weekend trip to a small, remote town and encounter a monster that throws them into the worst moments of their lives.
What I particularly love about Simon McHardy and Sean Hawker’s stories is how they make me laugh at both absurd and completely inappropriate situations. Their stories are always hilarious, boldly politically incorrect, and unapologetically so. Their provocative and offbeat humor has me laughing out loud, and that’s exactly what I look for when reading their books.
Fish Head stays true to their style: a monstrous creature, outrageously bloody murders, and a hefty dose of dark humor.
If you enjoy well-written stories, aren’t easily offended, and have an open mind with a sense of humor like mine, I highly recommend Fish Head by Simon McHardy and Sean Hawker.

I’ve had my fair share of fish over the years. Mackerel, salmon, tuna, haddock, cod, orange roughy, etc. Fried, broiled, baked, pan-seared, etc. All delicious in their own ways. And I’ve seen that South Park where Kayne West is a gay fish. And my daughter also unsuccessfully cared for several fish, too. Also, I’ve seen almost every killer shark move imaginable. So, I guess my takeaway here is that I have a pretty varied background on our underwater friends. However, this book involved man on fish lovin.’ Not my thing, but I’ve never met a mermaid before, so who knows to what depths Peter Topside would explore his love of the underwater kingdom. Back to the story, this is a McHardy and Hawker experience. For anyone who is not familiar with their splatterpunk-laden content, this had a bare bones premise, complimented by tons of gratuitous sex and violence, and, in this case, a merman eating his own boogers. Oh, and there is a killer aquatic beast on the loose, as seen on the magnificent cover. Basically, a made for SyFy channel sort of story. Some of the names, i.e. Clutterbuck, and nicknames, i.e. Melon Head, had me laughing all the way through. There was a lot of foreshadowing, and the finale paid off. This was just a great deal of fun for the horror hound in me. And, now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go eat some shrimp.

For fans of Edward Lee

This short story had a strong Edward Lee vibe and also H.P. Lovecraft. A fish monster lives in Maine with the village, but something sinister happened. Besteality, humans, and fish live together, and they feed on tourists.

Goo Canoe....😂🤣😂🤣 I am dead. Who else would call it a "Goo Canoe" besides McHardy and Hawker. These two never cease to amaze me with the phrases they come up with. I can be in the worst mood or have had the worst day possible, come home and read a story from these two and laugh my ass off. Fast and fun little story.

Happy Reading and Splatter On.....

Fish Head is gimmicky, cliché, and formulaic, but in the best ways possible!

Fish Head is epic in the same way that Freddie, Jason, Chucky, and Michael Myers are epic. You know what's up, and even if you find yourself rolling your eyes at times, you still want more!

Mchardy and Hawker strike again! A group of drunk, horny college pals. A trip to a remote New England fishing village for their annual “festival”. What could go wrong?
This book is raunchy, hilarious, disturbing, disgusting, brutal, bizarre, ridiculous and more. It’s everything you could want in a “fun” extreme horror story. I mean, I legit laughed out loud within the first few pages, only to feel nauseous shortly thereafter (man I’m glad this book is not scratch n’ sniff) I’m not exactly sure what to call this form of magic that is created when these two team up, but I sure as heck love it!

Is this going to win the Nobel prize for literature? No! However, if you want a super quick, cheesy, gory, monster slasher read, this is it! It might make you think twice about going to random weird little towns on the water for sure. I would have changed the ending, but that's just my opinion. If you are looking to have a quick read to get ahead on your Goodreads challenge, this one is a decent pick.

Yes!

Simon and Sean are back, and they are better than ever. It's been a while, and it was well worth the wait.

It's that time of year again in Blackfin Harbour, Maine. The Harbour Harvest Festival takes place once a year, and five friends are on their way to join in the festivities. What awaits them is beyond anything they could comprehend.

Is it gory? Yes! Is it offensive? Yes! Is it good? Hell yes! The boys are back at it, and it's one of the best yet. Filled with gore, humor, and insanity, Simon and Sean do it like no other. Whether you're a first-time reader or a McHardy/Hawker veteran, don't miss this title. It's excellent fun from two of the best in the business.
