Tenebroum

Rate this book
At the heart of a trackless swamp, a murdered thief claws his way back from the abyss. Who he was is lost to the grave, but not his need for vengeance. Death has not claimed him; instead, it's unlocked a darker destiny.

This isn’t a heroic tale; it’s the antithesis. This is a dark fantasy where evil is as much a place as a person. In Tenebroum, our villainous protagonist, the Lich, strives for a godhood fueled by the souls of its enemies, and the world trembles, ignorant of its impending doom.

This is a terrible necromantic journey that uses the flesh of the fallen, and forbidden grimoires. In its quest for power, the Lich creates abominations that defy reason. It melds the flesh of heroes with the stolen sinew of countless other victims to create something new and terrible.

Beware! This journey is not for the faint of heart. The pages of Tenebroum drip with terror. To read this book is to witness the rise of the villain, replacing the hero’s journey with its dark reflection. Do you dare continue? Choose wisely—for Tenebroum’s malevolence knows no bounds.

Massively, massively underrated. The books are clearly meant to be read back-to-back which I know will turn some people away, but IDGAF. The premise is awesome, and the prose is quite good. Very creative, unique, and cerebral. The book does an excellent job of reflecting the lich's changing thought process as its mind grows more advanced, and also does an amazing job of occasionally switching up perspectives to give you more of a boots-on-the-ground perspective on how horrifically terrifying it has become. Honestly, could have used more of that near the beginning when the lich was , but at that point, the concept was still so fresh and novel that I can say I was glad to stay in the lich's head for the whole process as well. This book is just cool as hell, so you should do yourself a favor and read it when you get the chance.

Tenebroum is a book written for those who enjoy seeing the villain win. Written for those who enjoy suspense and good power scaling. Tenebroum is a book that will make you question whether or not you have seen everything there is to see, everything there is to read, and reply to that with a resounding NO.

Tenebroum reads like one of those novels you find in the back of a library covered in dust, and once you read it, you unleash such a demonic evil that will take over your will, life, and maybe even reality.

I have always like D.Winchester's books, but this one has to be one of the best I have had the pleasure of reading.

Quite an interesting story, but it's a bit boring that the main character is just plain evil and has no goals besides getting stronger and richer.
