I used to create "dreams" with my best friend growing up. We'd each pick a boy we liked, then we'd write down a meet-cute that always ended with a happily ever after.

Now I get to dream every day, although it's a little steamier these days. And I've discovered I can and will write anywhere I can. Keep tuned to Instagram to see all the times I fit in a sentence or two.

I'm a writer, married to a writer, mother of a creative dynamo of a nine-year-old boy and currently a little sleepy. I'm a klutz and goofball and love lipstick as much as my Chuck Taylors.

Good things in the world: pepperoni pizza, Flair pens*, wine, coffee, laughing with my friends until my stomach hurts, a musician at the top of their game, getting lost somewhere I've never been, matinee movies on a weekday, the Chicago Cubs, a fresh new notebook full of possibilities, bourbon on a cold night, Fantasy Football, witty men, walking through the local zoo in the rain and that moment when a character clicks in and begins to write their own adventure. I'm just the pen.

Just Wonderful!
Three books continuing the Sonoma legends, two HEA romances for the Gelbert siblings and a surprise Christmas for Baxter and Tabitha, with a little extra David and Natalie. As usual no lack of humor, funny situations, exciting friends and family, lots of grins on my face and sometimes tears too. Added a dash of evil makes them thrilling and very hard to put down. As mentioned by the author, all books can be read as stand-alones, but reading them in order (binging as I am doing now) gives a more extensive view of what is really going down in the long run. You just have to read them all, I loved them so much!

3 stories in 1 place!

What is better than a great story? How about three?? Kelly has been spending all of her time curating the Sonoma Series Volumes and they are everything you could ask for.

In Volume 3 you get 2 full stories, a holiday novella and a bonus epilogue that you are definitely going to love.

The full length stories are the Gelbert siblings stories, Meritage is going to be David’s story and Residual Sugar is his sister Becca’s story.

These stories are filled with smart writing, adult relationships, hilarious banter, and even some suspense! There are a bunch of tropes sprinkled with Kelly’s magic (or maybe it’s wine) that make them a total joy to read.

This volume has so many amazing tropes.
Some of my favorites are the grumpy/sunshine, former player, small town, he falls first & hard, golden retriever, alpharoll, and found family. These stories in this boxset are entertainment at its finest. So many moments that had me laughing. The banter between the characters is on point to. Well written with an engaging storyline. I loved reading this.

Meritage – Book 6 - David & Natalie – Likeable, complex characters
I really enjoyed reading this. After all the stories in the series so far, I feel like I know the various characters in the 5 Families, and in this we dig into David and, Tabi and Bax’s assistant extraordinaire Natalie’s, lives and love.
The first part is all light and sexy as these two get together – despite the repeated warnings to stay away from each other – and explores the obvious chemistry they have.
From there, the story hits a major speed bump which bursts their relationship bubble, splitting them up, as insecurities from the past derail their future.
The banter between them is fabulously well written. The way their story plays out within the whole timeline and fits into what the other members of the second generation of the 5 have happening is perfect, and the overall character development we get from both David and Nat is what makes this book an outstanding read.
A well named novel with Meritage being a blended wine and striving for a successfully blended family, is the overriding theme of this enjoyable read.

Christmas Chaos - No Crib and No Bed - Book 6.5 - Short and lively!
OMG chaos is not wrong, there's a million things going on in this short, lively story, set in the 5 Families world at Christmas time.
I laughed (a lot) at some of the scenes only Tabi and Bax could get themselves into, and others will tug on your heartstrings as we are taken on a rollercoaster of emotions.
We get brilliantly placed cameos from all the main characters in this world dreamed up by Ms. Kay, everyone slides so seamlessly into the story and contributes in a way that shines a light on their personalities.
Very enjoyable!

Residual sugar - Book 7 - Becca & Brick – Suspenseful and hot! 🔥
This wasn't at all what I expected, the depth to the story and the suspense surprised me, I loved it.
Brick wakes up, no idea where he is or what happened, with a bleeding girl in his truck; what a way to start a story!
Landing on Becca's doorstep and trusting her with his freedom was an easy decision for him, after an encounter years before, he knew she was his future, he just needed her to believe as well, and to keep him out of jail.
What follows is a well plotted story, that's suspenseful, has twists and turns, and all these different threads going, written with Ms. Kay's trademark humour, witty banter and interspersed with steamy sex scenes. Make no mistake, this is hot!! The love story central to the plot between Brick and Becca's is all consuming, there was no doubt in Bricks mind, Becca's was it for him, she was a little slower to get on board despite the undeniable chemistry but when they come together... Wow! This quote from Brick says it all, “Darling, it’s all a little hazy around me until you step into my field of vision. Then everything snaps into focus.”
Many of the characters from the 5 families have significant roles in this story; special shout out to Mel, I'm not sure whether to laugh out loud or be shocked every single time she opens her mouth!
Excellent story.
