She admits that she has become overweight and low on stamina with falling energy levels. She recognises this is due to a lifestyle that is mostly sedentary – sitting at a desk all day or tired on the couch at home. When challenged by a colleague to re-define her relationship with her body. She is encouraged to take up chair yoga and to slowly build up a daily routine. Maya is able to overcome resistance and setbacks through journaling and researching how the body works. The reader learns alongside Maya to discern how patterns of self neglect can creep into their lives. We gain insight into incorporating movement and healthy eating habits.

I liked the simplicity of this book, and the Yoga exercises it shows you had to perform. As an "older" (not elderly) woman who has not had an exercise routine for years, this is a great one to start at this stage in my life. If you have a chair, you can use this book to create an exercise routine that will be easy for anyone of any age with almost any physical limitations.

This wonderful provides some excellent exercises that are designed to help you achieve your health and weight loss goals. David and Florence provide Maya's heartwarming story to add encouragement for those seeking validation. The book and exercises are easy to read and follow along.
