As an Hour read book, it is the usual amazing read from Stephen Leather. It is still action-packed and I am glad that I found these quick reads as it is nice to be able to read something in an hour and then go on to the next book, there are quite a few of the Quick Reads which is I think is nice for a change and I am a fan of Spider Shepherd anyway and I am surprised that I had not read these quick entertaining books before. Always a good read and thoroughly enjoyable. Recommend to try out these quick and exhilarating books.

Cyprus, 1997. A few months after the Sierra Leone op.

The guys meet another SAS guy at the base, Rusty. He's an older guy and friend of Spider's trainer (Spud).
It's explained Cyprus, though not a place of much action, is a good one for surveillance on the Middle East and terrorist related Intel that passes through.
Spider runs into Jonathan Parker again (the MI6 guy) from the previous short stories (African op).
He tells them they have a new task - a top secret bodyguard training mission in a Middle Eastern country. They're to train some guys to be elite bodyguards for the ruler of the country and protect him until they can take over.
The sheikh is kidnapped by his cousin, the go and save him.
